Tornadoes are rare in Washington state but so is lightning. When we have a lightning storm, it literally makes the evening news, I kid you not. Growing up in the South where you can just about set your watch by the afternoon thunderstorm each day, I miss them now that I live up here. I don't miss the heat, though. They can keep the heat and humidity.

Yep, that’s a Louisiana storm. If it hit between the rehearsal and the actual wedding, but not during either, I’d say it’s all good.

I live in a small Czech village, and there is common two or three EF0 tornadoes per summer for last two years.

I almost thought that the Washington state tornado was going to be the one in Port Orchard, but it wouldn't have looked like much although it did cause more damage than the one shown.

#8 was uncanny…and by the way 2ft of water can move a 2K lb car i.e. a sedan, so that flood easily displaced that truck. I live in SE Tx and we have warnings about certain roads during heavy rains…which we haven’t had a drop of the whole summer. The Wa tornado is quite the baby…really, I’ve seen much worse. The Mosque in #3 seemed to disintegrate as though it was made of paper maché!

As far as bad weather goes, we are at the end of an ice age, of corse it’s getting warmer. Man might be contributing but this would still happen if we weren’t here. That’s natures natural cycles.

i think it may seem worse than it is because those hanging lights werent swinging too bad, just fern and fabric. Sound can be mimicked by blowing into mic with your mouth. it was a good storm but a let down for a #1

Definitely wasn’t as bad as the audio and video made it out to be. You can see tables and chairs sitting stationary, so nothing more than a strong wind and heavy rain

A lot of legends and fabel about massive catastrophes in some unlikely places, all of a sudden get confirm in recent years. Which does not bode so well for some that wanted to sort them in full under made up and imaginary. It appear that at least some parts of these stories might actually and uncomfortably be quite true.

People who live north of Seattle see tornadoes almost every year in the summer, sometimes 5 or 6. They don’t do much damage as they aren’t the largest category storms and they’re fun to watch. Sometimes we’ll get a waterspout on the sound. All in the convergence zone, so we also get rain and snow when everybody else gets nothing.

tornadoes are a frightening affait. I saw one (EF-3) Pass through Ft. Smith, Ark. in the late 90s. it is as frightening as you imagine and more.
