This week we finally get the steel work done by PJ Barber. We cannot recommend him and the team enough - so lovely & so much knowledge we could have stayed longer just to learn more! With all the rain & storms a narrowboat came unpinned and Doug went to the rescue. It's been a tiring week but we are so glad to have finished this part of the renovation phase.
Your advice really is so incredible but as mentioned we are behind in the videos - a lot was filmed so long ago - so we are actioning all of it but you may not see it come to light until later down the line.
Thank you for getting us to 2000 subscribers - we never thought it would be a thing here in this community, all the love for being here.

How interesting to see your home out of the water. Congratulations 🎊 for all your work, and to David for helping! I am not a boater but couldn't do without a baby buggy! Take care everyone. X

My boat essentials are a good waterproof coat and trousers, polarised sunglasses and of course an excellent sense of humour and an emergency meal or two for any disaster days

another great Vlog of everyday life on the canals. great job helping others & securing the boat that got loose. loved the walk with the new child, maybe Cassie (toiler cassette). I would definitely need You tube if I lived on a narrow boat. I use it to help me with maintaining & fixing things around the home & of course watching your vlogs. Yes I would be in strife with patchy internet access.

Haha, Cassie shall be no more as we have purchased a cart now but she did her job! RU-vid is a good shout, we use it for advice all the time.

Hi! That dry patch you were looking at when the boat was lifted out is where your skin tank (radiator) is. Moat boats have skin tanks to cool the engine and some use raw canal water to cool the engine, that is where you see water coming out of the exhaust, love the vlogs, Re dinner delivery, ingenious, longer pole would be helpful🤔🤔. keep up the good work, Regards Mike🖖🖖

Very surprised you never went for a swim with the meal transfer. Think if I remember it's a 4 second gap from the lightning to the thunder means it's a mile away. Just binge watching your videos, your doing well guys.

Glad to see you’ve got someone like David to guide you - he was a huge help to Jo and Vic and I’m sure he’ll be the same to you guys!

Guys dont get to despondent when your oil leak is fixed and for the next year it still leaks, that bmc diesel is one of the hardest engines to keep oil inside of. Once the seal( old rope seal i believe) is fixed it takes many many hours for them to reseal or bed in.

Hey!! This is a really bizarre comment because it got the engine fixed this week and 1 hour after the guy left I noticed a drip!! Thanks so much for letting us know as we feel a lot better now

@@TheCanalBoatFamily Trust me, just don't hung up on that oil leak, just put some oil pads under it, after 3xyears of running it will reseal it self, but not from a new seal, not from a mechanic taking your money, definitely not from you stressed about it. Rich

what a lovely way for Sage to grow up, take it from a grandfather of 7 enjoy it while she's little it goes way to fast, I'm with him on the thunder storms, lived some years in the mountains and there is something primal and awesome about a wild high country thunderstorm

It was a lovely tea the first true delivered takeaway to the boat and a storm afterwards I would say a perfect day on the boat! Many thanks again for my tea! Superb job! As for can't live without boating items there's so many good candidates for that role but I have a feeling I have to be practical and say solar panels!

Must say the boat is looking a lot happier since you got it out of the water & cleaned up. Once again, I had my Sunday chuckles watching Doug pass the dinner over to your neighbour, David. 😅 It even came with “Canal Marinade” 🍛😂 Also just love the make do loo transport… always good to to re purpose items whenever possible. 👍🏻 You should really try to meet up with Jo, Vic & William (Holly the Cafe’ Boat) I follow them too, and they are such a lovely couple. Little William is such a darling, & I sure he & Sage would get along really well. Hopefully you don’t have to experience too many lightening storms ⛈️⚡️ I agree with you Chrissy, they are very scary. 😧 Sunday would not be the same without an episode of “ The Canal Boat Family” ⛴️ Hope you have a wonderful week, take care 💕

Jan! Thanks so much for another lovely comment. We will endeavour to get a coffee at Holly at some point and will see if we can get Sage and William together for a run around. xx

Lightning is 5 seconds per mile
@pilpelet100

I learned that the sound of thunder travelled at approximately 1 mile every five seconds. So if you count to twelve (seconds) before hearing the thunder it's approximately 2.5 miles away.
