I am a self-funded retiree from originally Texas, USA. I arrived in November 2019 and settled in the Mid North Coast of Queensland. I love the laidback style of living, able to go fishing when I want. Weather, apart from the cyclone season, is beautiful one day, perfect the next. I was able to re-join my friend from the Aussie Army, who took me around, I have joined a Men's Shed, where we make things for sale for the benefit of the local community. Here is heaven, should have come here years ago. Now I look forward to my grandson and his partner coming out for a long holiday when things settle down in the States. If you are thinking of lifting roots, then Australia is a great place to re-establish yourself.
Wayne Such, As a fellow Queenslander Welcome to Our Great Country. You definitely picked one on the best spots to move to. I am from south east Queensland and it's Great Here as well. I am bit jealous of the bit where you said you go fishing when you want. I get out to Stradbroke Island when ever I can. But trying to fit stuff in between work is a bit hard. When things get back to normal, your family will definitely enjoy it. Hope you are well and next time I have a beer I will raise my stubby and have a beer with you. Cheers Mark.
Im on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland ,top spot Aussie born and bred but I never take this beautiful land for granted,im glad your loving our great country
I always love hearing the perspective of someone who's had a difficult background. It makes me appreciate my country more 🇦🇺 And hey, I can hear some Aussie vowels coming through 😊
I’m so glad. We are all so blessed to be in this country. Definitely picking up Aussie vowels slowly... loving it. Thank you for watching and for engaging 😁😍
Your attitude is absolute GOLD. You are respectful, appreciative of what lays in front of you & you're willing to put in your fair share to get to where you want to be. Sometimes it can be difficult to see when you're living here, but these are the values that shaped this country. Fantastic job on fitting in :)
I came for the house tour, stayed for the 10 things I love! You are so beautiful & love your energy. Thank you for this ‘conversation’ Fun fact: My great great grandfather named Whitehaven Beach & I only just went there late last year. The Silica sand will never get so scorching hot as it doesn’t retain heat. Perfect for cleaning jewellery 💎
I hope Australians can take away from this vid, just how good we have it. I'm currently living overseas and have travelled extensively, so I know exactly what you are talking about. The way we live in Australia is absolutely unimaginable for people in less fortunate countries. Thanks for your thoughts on our amazing country.👍
I came to Australia 40 years ago and agree with every word you said. But what I love most out here is that we accept people like yourself. I wish you every success and happiness here.
Wow. What a positive story and bubbly personality to match! Aussie here. Been living in Europe the past 20 odd years. Lucky enough to live in a country where the healthcare system, education, public transport, etc, are well managed, as in Oz. I have been going back home very year or two. Each time I go back, I notice how much more multi cultural Australia is becoming. Seeing people from many different countries, not just Europeans, making Oz home. Think it’s fantastic. Looking forward to moving back in a few years. BTW, your Aussie accent is really coming through. Sound more Aussie than me. All the best.
Glad you're happy and settled in Oz. We're probably lucky to have you. When you're new here it definitely helps to not be shy about your needs. Aussies are generally helpful if you ask but we're also not intrusive - so if you seem to want privacy you will be left alone.
Thank you so much Ron. Yes shyness won’t get you anywhere in this world. And you are right with everything you said above. Always learning but I’m glad this home for me now😁😁😁
Thanks for your comments- I think the government should pay for every 18 to 25 year old to travel overseas once - that way they would know how good it is here and what we need to protect.
Great video. I was lucky to be born in Australia and I am very grateful to be born in such a great country. Its always nice to have bright positive people coming here to live and making the best of their new home. It's not always easy but well done and welcome.
The best thing about living in Australia is not being anywhere else , congratulations on becoming a citizen here in gods country and I'm glad you love being here . I appreciate the fact that you don't harp on about all our dangerous animals and insects like a lot of reactors especially the one's that haven't actually been here .
100% agree. Thank you kindly. Every country has its pros and cons. I just choose to see the best part and enjoy it😁 Ps. Too many people are so dramatic 😂
One thing I love about Australia is multiculturalism. I grew up in and went to school in Dandenong in Melbourne, the most multicultural place on the planet, so I got to experience the cultures of the entire world, without having to travel more than a couple of kilometres.
What an excellent addition to our great country, best thing about Australia, is Australians. welcome to the party ? also..your aussie accent is definitely happening :)
This was great to watch, I defiantly took Australia for granted before I moved to the UK 8 years ago. I dont know when I am moving my family back to Australia but even if it was tomorrow it would not be soon enough.
I'm always very pleased to hear the Aussie accent breaking through with an immigrant. Congratulations on your good taste and good fortune to be an Australian, and a beautiful one too!
Enjoyed watching your video - It should be shown to high school students. Some Australians complain about trivial things without realizing how good this country is for them.
I migrated to Australia as a child in 2003 as a child and I can say it's a wonderful place to live! Glad to hear your experience has been as good as mine :)
Wow, you have made me fall in love with Australia even more, aaah I need to travel to different states to see how they are like, I have only been to Perth, where I am currently living, and you are looking so beautiful and colorful as always, I love your hair, it is so beautiful ❤
Thank you so much dear sis. Yes indeed you need to visit other parts of Aussie and the time will come.😍 I appreciate the compliment about my hair... thank God for African hair...so versatile and so artistic. We are truely a work of art😍😍❤️
I love your video. I can hear in your voice how Australian you have become and the passion that you have. So happy that you are a fellow citizen contributing to our shared future. Australia is an on-going experiment, driven by our history, but more driven by people like yourself, who come from a more challenging life experience, with a broader perspective that values the rights and opportunities available to our citizens. These rights cannot be taken for granted and I greatly appreciate how you expressed that. As our country evolves with an ever changing demographic it is important that we continue to define our strengths, as you have done so well, and hopefully inspire us to preserve and protect them. Thank you.
Love your vid So happy to see you enjoying what we think is home, and even more happy that you call it home. Also from greater Brisbane, so reach out if I can even assist with anything Love the channel
So proud you are happy here. Great to see your positivity. I think most Aussies are happy to accept anyone who wants to be here. Most Aussies are nice people. I know we have assholes (racists). My gf/partner is Asian and has experienced these assholes. Not often but a few times over 5 years. I’ll assume you have too and it’s great you overlook that and be so positive. Just look at your comments to see how many Aussies support you. Hope you have a happy future here.
We don’t have anarchy, and no you can’t publicly be very extreme in trying to incite violence and extreme hatred, or extreme speech in a Nazi or AlQaeda way. Other than that you’re very free to say whatever.
@@PrincessGold1 we don't have it in our constitution (unlike the americans)... since the government has the right to censor whatever they want (except political speech) Oz doesn't have "freedom of speech"
Australia doesn't have freedom of speech it's not enshrined in a bill if rights. You're lucky you got police assistance on your March because Avi Yemeni would show a different side of policing. You'd probably find southern Australia cold in winter.
You are probably right but from my experience, it’s much free here than where I come from. And yes I agree southern Australia is colder in winter but atleast we can get through it without needing heated homes. Thank you for your input. Appreciate it😁
@glenn oc "Freedom of speech is not enshrined in a bill of rights". True, however, the High Court has held that an implied freedom of political communication exists as an indispensible part of the system of representative and responsible government created by the Constitution.
....it's a big place so the spectrum of weather is very broad.....ah, the Adelaide Hills. Very nice. The same day in Glenelg and Blackwood can be as night and day. I live in central Oz and you probably already know - stinking hot and dry in summer and cold and dry in winter. Which is why when it rains here we go outside and 'dance' in the rain.😁 I'd love to retire down near Port Lincoln.....Tumby Bay....beautiful.
@@damiencross8921 The high court ruling still hasn't helped so many from being sued for defamation in Australia though. It's a grey area because people can hide behind freedom of speech and spout hate .
