You're back!!!! You were my inspiration when your videos first came out! It was hard to get into this hobby and not see a lot of women enjoying the wormies like we do 😅. So glad that you're back, can't wait to see more updates!!

Great Vid. Full of very useful tips. I've had my worm bin for about 3 months and I'm glad to say all is going well. I do keep mine very well stocked with bedding (shredded cardboard mainly). 2 to 1 ratio of bedding to food at every feed. The worms seem to be happy with this and it helps to absorb some of the moisture from the food. As said, "Great vid". Keep up the excellent work you do. Keep smiling.

Welcome back, your video back then is why I've had wormbins since. I watched some other vids and did some more research too but the original inspiration was yours and I do still use cheap storage box containers from the budget store like the ones in your original video. Happy to say all my many current worms still descend from the original batch. That's not to say none died prematurely ever, but haven't had a die out despite my apartment being impossible to keep cool in summer.

Glad to see you back and that you haven't given up on worm composting ! 🙂 I have gone through a very similar learning curve during the past couple of years so most that you mentioned are highly relatable.

Ya worm bins require some learning. I had some African night crawlers that are supposed to be good composters. Anyways I put fifteen pounds of worms in a big like 20 gallon tote. But the tote heated up and worms escaped. Then a sibling put the tote in the garage I found out the next day and the worms die. African worms die below sixty degrees or something. It’s crazy. Anyways also got red wigglers. I cut a large 500 gallon IBC tote in half. Then put a screen on the bottom cause there’s a hole. After that I put down like an inch of cardboard to soak up moisture since I’d put the bin in my garage. And then I filled it up with manure, leaves, paper etc. Rock dust and egg shells can raise the ph to help avoid bugs. But ya I think having a worm bin that’s 250 gallons is good. It lets up dump one or two five gallon buckets worth of food scraps in one side. Then it can compost or the worms can eat it. The bin literally can heat up in parts, but with the bin being like maybe four feet by four feet square I’ve never had a problem with worms escaping. Also I never worry about having to feed them. I can fill it full of new stuff in May and plant some tomatoes on top of the bin and then in the spring of next year I can harvest worm castings to use in my garden to put with all new plants or when I plant seeds. It does sound like work hard so good job. Living in an apartment would be tough to have a worm bin. I will say if you happen to have a private garage like some townhomes or some apartments have then you could put worm bins in the garage.

The worms I had on my farm. It was so d*** funny. I had him in crates and I have this garbage. Black plastic wrapped inside the crates so that they wouldn't be able to get out. But then I started having a problem with that. Eventually, I had to bring somebody else in that knew what I needed to do and then I started doing it right but it took. A good year before I learn how to do it the right way but it came out right afterwards. I made really good money

I got friends that are professional in it in what they got as a plastic box with Annette over it. So I can breathe. Let's all that the flies are bugs or anything. Birds or anybody get into it. And then that's seemed to work really good.
