Such great teaching, as always, Griff! I know this is a “ten things” list and you can’t list EVERY important thing, but I’d like to add one more here: Learn at least some music by ear! I feel like learning by ear is the musical equivalent of superfood. My playing grew by leaps and bounds when I spent time learning by ear, and I’ve seen it do the same for others. Thanks for sharing your wisdom, Griff!

Thanks Griff...i have found one of the best tools for learning off RU-vid videos & playing on the porch,(lol) is a Vidami pedal . It allows hands FREE ! stop/start-pause - fast/slow (various adjustable speeds), forward-reverse & loop. The loop feature really rocks, for learning lead licks, being able to slow & loop part of one lick ! Now they have a wireless version, called Vidami blue (b-tooth).From Les Paul's home town. ($150.00-$250.00) worth 1 k to me.

Hi Griff, been following you for a long time. I’m 70. When I started playing I assumed that since there were 6 strings all chords should be 6 strings. I could only play open chords for years. Please make that number 11.

To listen to the originators of blues. Most people that ' teach' blues have a very pale hue. That don't add up quite right. Percentage wise. People should know how to work the key of a song out other than blues.. in a few seconds. The Key is... that chords are deified. That's what is wrong.
