Great positive video. I've had sista locks for over 10 years and I live then too. I get so mangy compliments all the time that my husband gets frustrated with all the stops especially when we travel. I personally think they have helped me to achieve a healthier lifestyle. Instead of wasting time on my hair, I can exercise freely without worry. You are truly beautiful and your hair looks so healthy and strong. Thank you
Girl you couldnt have said more truth! They save me time and give me the ability to live with hair freedom! Gosh the time we sisters spend on our hair can be used to live so much more fully. The more natural we are , the more freedom we have. Thank you sis for chiming in and sharing!!
I'm considering locs and came by your video. I must say you are realistic about your journey and I'm already loving the idea of locking mine.you are sweet and beautiful and I'm encouraged 😘😘😘
Oh my!! You been keeping secrets little niece. Share soem details! How was it? Does your hair hurt? LOL! How much did you pay and what is the length of your hair?
Tunisia Ali HHHUUUUNNIIII !!! Let me tell you something. I NEVER considered myself “tender headed”, but I was in pain. I’m on day two so it’s better now lol. I started off with about 7inches of hair. Uuummm I paid about $850 for my install. However, that price includes my first wash and two consultations prior to my install. So I figured that was a good deal. My stylist was referred to me and I’ve been seeing her work on my family members for years, so I didn’t mind paying. This is my second loc journey so I’m really excited 😊
Hey girlie!! Oh jeez, this was an experiment HEAVY day, not my look. But it sure was fun!!! I didnt realize how playing with your face could be so uplifting.
I am so grateful for finding your channel! I've been doing tons of research on microlocks and Sisterlocks and am finding you to be a wealth of knowledge. Jotting down notes from this video just like in your DIY shampoo video. I thank you!
Wow! That makes me feel good inside. I am glad that something so effortless is making a difference. I appreciate spirits like you, truly!! Trina, thank you!!
I'm just 4 months in with my regular locs but I can already see what you're talking about with each of them behaving differently. Mine certainly do. I mean, really.
yes - these are good tips. i would add that SLers should also be careful of combining locs around the hairline. i did that, thinking i was smart, and ended up with a scalpier look that i hate. i took them down and separated them. even though i'm having to baby them, it already looks much better! your makeup is gorgeous - please do a tutorial!
I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I will be starting my local journey in a few weeks. Your video was so informative and it made me subscribe to your channel.
As someone who has only recently come into womanhood (27) I just want to say that really admire you. You are awesome. I love the energy. I've never really been a fan of traditional locs enough to commit but sisterlocks are so beautiful. They seem to age gracefully with you and one can let their spunkyness show (aka its not a monotonous hairstyle). I want sisterlocks, but I have seborrheic dermatitis. So the plan is to wait a couple years, do more research, heal my insides , then start my journey (assuming the SD is under control). What do you think?
I think that sounds marvelous. I like the concept of healing from the inside out. There is likely something that you are exposed to that exacerbates the condition..definitely dont give up. Thank you SO much for sharing!!
New subbie here! Thank you for explaining the white cotton. That was driving me crazy because I couldn't figure out what that was. I kept trying to pick them out. I thought it was lint or something like that. I'm glad you posted this informative video.
Ahwwww.....thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you find worthiness in my message. Please keep coming back and engaging OUR channel! I appreciate ya!
Thank you for this video sis. I know what to do the next time around when I get my second set of sisterlocks.... I love the music in the back ground is that jazz?
Your is so beautiful I been thinking about getting them for fours years now so it been a year whenever I made a final decision about getting it done I search for a sisterlock consultant and now I'm so ready to get them done I made a appointment for consultation next Month March/2020
Hello. Thank you for the information. Did you experience a lot of shrinkage in the beginning (from 1 to 2.5 years)? I'm just over 2 years in and although I get a lot of growth, there is little to no change in length.
@@TunisiaAli I wasn't expecting a response after all this time, haha. Oh okay, seems like I'm headed down the same road. Your spiritual videos are great too by the way...
In researching Sisterlocks, over a year before I got them, I knew of all these except number 4 -- never experienced it either (there was no number 6). However, my slippage was always in the back; never in the front and to get the most out of Sisterlock shampoo (which I only used the starter kit and order once -- bottle came half empty because they stuffed it into a box too small), put it in a spray bottle, wet hair, and mist the shampoo onto your hair. Otherwise, it's a waster of money. Wouldn't recommend it anyway! Poor horrible service! Never heard back from them concerning my half empty bottle (and that was almost 5 years ago)!
@Carolina Stylez It is. She has a gold mind of a business, but she's stuck in the 80's. She needs to update video and come out with better products as technology and natural hair care products have come a long way. Sisterlocks have been out more than 20 years and I only heard about them about six years ago. In my daily travels, I'm always asked about my hair and 10 out of 10 people who ask -- never heard of Sisterlocks.
Hmmmm, I would say yes, because you aren't really losing it. Usually outside of locs, styling stress hampers growth or nullifies the maximization of it! My hair used to grow fast, but I would often need to clip. So overall, I say yes! Thank you sister for stopping by! I appreciate ya!
Now, I don’t have sistrlcks. I have sml traditional locs started w/comb coils (they’re gorgeous😍.) But I’m happy to know that I’m not the only person soo obsessed with “cotton” to the point that I too, continually detangle/comb out & restart my entire back row to get it ALL out! 🤣 That lint just thrives back there doesn’t it??! Sheesh!!
OMG!!!! I MAY JUST HAVE FPUND MY TWIN!!! LOL!!! It drives me insane sister, like seriously. I started up again yesterday after a reprieve, sigh!! It never ends does it??? Hahaahha
Tunisia Ali YES! OCD Cotton and diction twins, lol! Can u imagine...LOL 🤦🏽♀️🤣?! U see I’m wearing a scarf in my profile pic. That’s me everyday. One - bc I think it looks pretty, and feminine and modest. And two - bc I’M HIDING MY HAIR FROM LINT AND DEBRIS 🤣!!! A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, lol. 🤷🏽♀️
Many say my hair oil blend us great for frizziness and tangles and overall hair health. You might want to give it a try. There are a few videos in the last 2 months about it. Check them out.
