I knew from the moment that I saw the logo on my sisterlocks starter shampoo that the lady in the logo on the bottle looked sooo Nineties with those big shoulder pads and baggy pants suit with big jacket. They haven't updated the logo since this video was published. My sisterlocks are 2 weeks old and I am loving them! Thank you Dr. Corwall. Update that logo though. lol

I'm getting sisterlocks this year. I've been waiting since 2006 when I was a freshmen in college. I am so ready! I wish I didn't have to travel out of state but I know it will be worth it! I am so excited!

Ok so I've had my Sisterlocks for 3 yrs now and this is the first time that I've ever seen this video.... (does this mean that I do not have Sisterlocks @ Discernaoftruth and Dr C?).... (Smile). lol But seriously, I wish that I had watched this video before I had mine installed! Don't get me wrong, my loctician gave me a thorough consultation, answered all of my questions and showed me a good video, in fact I luuuurve my locks and get stopped allllll of the time. Coming from curly perms and relaxers, then 16 yrs of weave and 'finally' being able to embrace my natural hair is so liberating. The feeling is indescribable. I would 100% recommend Sisterlocks to anybody, without a doubt. *Thumbs up.

I met JoAnn at a small natural hair event around 1993/1994 before anyone knew what sister locs were. Very personable lady. I got sisterlocs in 1998 and would often get stopped in public by black women curious as to what I was wearing. It was the only natural style that my mother liked. I have since cut them but am thinking about going back to them.

An updated version of this video is needed. Like yesterday. This video tickled me. It’s informative info though.

I’m 8 months locked and o do get a lot of complements on my hair from guys which I was surprised about because I’m in a frizzy stage lol!

Is it just me or did Sisterlocks get larger over time? Many of these ladies appear to have loose hair because theirs are so small.

The said only 1-3 month for braiding and banding @7:30 OH THE LIES lol XD

Thank You! I appreciate your knowledge your motivation and endurance. I'm sure it wasn't easy trying to break through the barriers of the mind when it came to wearing natural hair and especially 'lock' when you first introduced this hair styling system to woman of color. I have had my hair Sisterlocked for 5.5 years and I love it. I had no idea the locks could be even smaller than the ones I have now...I heard you say 'Microlocks'. As far as Styling is concerned, I've noticed that the world of lock wearers frown upon locked hair which has been curled using a heating element/tool i.e. curling irons. There are other 'unbranded' locks on RU-vid and in the world that uses interlocking as a technique and I often wonder if the 'unbranded' styles are trying to compete with your patented system because if so, they can't top us!

Please update this video. The disparaging remarks about locs at 15:23 were disturbing.

I'm still taking mine out a yr later... dont go to anyone that doesn't have solid online reviews, even if they have nice locks and are registered on the SL site. Save your time, hair and money.

Finally I get to see the Sisterlock tool! I've heard that technicians would hide the tool...I'm not sure why (trade secret?) This was REALLY refreshing!

I wished that I would have gotten my sisterlocks way before I did. My family has stated that I look younger. I also enjoy the versatility as well.

Respect to Dr. Cornwell. It should be a requirement for all who have sisterlocks to not only watch this video but be tested on the historical significance and the origin story of sisterlocks. I have seen so many on the internet misrepresent sisterlocks. I have seen people trying to create fake sisterlocks and some providing tutorials on how to re tighten sisterlocks. Shows the level of utter disrespect that black people can sometimes have towards each other. Sisterlocks is a trademarked brand period. Im so sick of some black women not being respectful of this fact. If you are not going to rep the brand properly based on how it was created and by whom then simply dont bother. Black women owe a great debt to this woman but I see so many on the internet that are ungrateful and disrespectful to the brand. pisses me off. Some are angry that they are not able to afford to get real sisterlocks. Instead of saving up like they do for everything else they bash then at the same time try and create fake versions of the real brand. And we wonder why black folk dont get anywhere as a collective......now let a white woman invented sisterlocks..black women would have zero problem giving respect to her. In fact, I saw a white woman who made a video on sisterlocks and the black woman were kissing her ask. Sometimes I get so sick and tired of being black just based on the disrespect that comes from within...ugh.........
