You are in your 30s and the fact that you watching this type of videos in your 30s says you doing great. You have a real chance of becoming rich. I would encourage you to stop looking in the wrong places for advice. THINK!! they won't be there to know when thier advice goes south or do follow ups. Get yourself a financial adviser and say bye to speculative investing, if you do this long enough, you will have something to show for it.

The week before last christmas I was behind an elderly woman in line at the Dollar General store and all of her cards were declined - because we are responsible, I could step up and pay that bill. It was only $40, but when you have no money, $40 is the world to somebody else. I really hope things turned around for her. She asked me if I was an angel, definitely not, but trying to do HIS works to His glory.
I remember 2 months ago when I was able to start keeping my whole paycheck. It felt soooo nice! 2- 3 years of paying off debt with the wife. It was really nice to have my wife graduate with her masters degree and we don't owe ANYONE! Thank God that you are ok from the car accident! I pray that he continues to watch over you and all of us.
@@barrywainwright3391 no its not. My bills are paid with one check, no kids. Emergency fund is good so the second check of the month is hard earned extra money.
My wife and I are in the same boat. Cash flowing her nursing program. She comes out with her RN in April. Got 20k debt left to pay off. Once that happens... game changer. We'll be able to save her entire paycheck and 60% of mine. Light at the end of the tunnel.
Preach young Man! I am on Baby step 6. I’m 61 and I wished I would had this information when I was in my 30s, 40s, and 50s. Young people please listen and apply this to your life.
Hey Mr.Oneal my name is Ymir. I just graduated Highschool, I am also 17 years old. I have no debt and Im saving for a car. I am also taking my real estate classes and have a full plan for my life. Please pray for me. Thank you for giving me the inspiration I need.
Poetic Day you are definately on the right track. Heck, just by you being HERE says a lot about you. You are a very mature young man who (I can tell) will go very far. Taking real estate classes at 17? Wow. You are definately in my prayers and I'm wishing you much much success in your future. Stay on track and Blessings my friend. : )
You will never regret it. I regret that I did not know this when I was your age. It makes me sick to look back and see all the money I wasted on things.
Listen to this man because when I started being a better giver, little by little more money started coming into my life. The more I give the more I get. I just get a little retirement check but I’m amazed how God stretches it. Wow, I just happened to find you….Praise The LORD for people like you. God bless you for sharing your financial wisdom.
Depends. If one can find a temporary job, that 3-6 months stretches. Truthfully, some can make it on unemployment if they only have the 4 walls with no car payment to worry about.
It’s an ever evolving goal but I guess initially the aim is just to reach £1000/$1000. Once that goal has been achieved then aim for 3-6months worth of Life Expenses. However, once you have that figure then you’d likely be inspired to aim for a year’s worth🙌🏾 It will take everyone a different length of time depending on their circumstance and their starting point but we’ll get there if we’re intentional about it. Anyway, I need to go call Starbucks now and tell them “it’s not working out, that I think you’re great but I’m snowed in with work right now, it’s not you it’s me and that I just need to be by myself for a while”😂
Take this crisis as a lesson, especially if you have a family (husband/wife w/kids or other dependent) that's financially supported by you. Unemployment & stimulus check was a mess, some people did not even recieve their check on time.
Bought the book! I can’t wait to read it. I originally had $97,000 in student loans and now it’s $82,000, which I’ve been working on since I graduated in Dec 2018. I’m turning 25 years old this month, and I’m about to go into beast mode! I’m ready for my debt to be completely gone!!!
Stop yelling at me! This video hit me at the right time, I have been agressively curbing my spending. Those coffees and takeout really do add up! Thanks Anthony!
Shheeeeesssshhhh I'm pumped!! I'm 34 .. its go time!!! Been in my industry for 14 years and mannn how I Wish I knew this 14 years ago! 😪 but it's never too late! Thank you for planting seeds of wisdom 🙏🏽 God bless!
I think though this was well put out, it isn't for me. Factoring a young mid income, short term minded person with constant need for cash, are these still recommended? I am new to all of these and have incurred so much losses, I am beginning to think I am not doing what is good for me but good for others
I feel for you. New guys must realize the risks all these come with. You could lose everything and you could gain everything. It goes both ways. Secondly, what works for A must not necessarily work for B and you shouldn't be a bandwagon investor. Always make more thorough inquiries before putting your money somewhere or better still, get the services of a pro (that way, you give little room for error and get tailored investments). Made my first million earlier this year this way after a lot of trial and errors. Good luck!
@Alexis Anders I have been into this for long and though I won't say I have lost a fortune, I have squandered quite a lot. If it's not a problem, do you mind recommending the pro. you worked with? I could definitely use the help of one right now... I look forward to your reply...
@@anthonyrussell5718 Funny enough, I can honestly relate. It's not as easy as it may sound and requires some sacrifices but it is definitely rewarding. I don't know if I am permitted to go into details here, but her name is "KAITLIN ROSE STERNBERG". Was in the news a lot in 2018. You may look her up for more.

I’m 21 and have been following you for about a year now AO! I love the content, you’re about the only youtuber who gives it to us raw with a game plan (other than dave) and I just admire it so much. Me and my fiancé have $4000 in our savings account , and $28,000 in our investing account . We save $500 a month and invest $900 a month. And that’s WITH a mortgage(Yes i own a home) and a kid! And our monthly income is only $3300 a month between us ... I promise y’all when i say if you really want this , it’s not far out of reach... It’s all a mindset 🤝
I learned a lot financially by studying Chinese culture. An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. That’s why when I consider how much profit I’ve been able to accumulate from my investments in the trade market with Sir Herman, and the amount of flexibility I have achieved in my portfolio, I see reasons to continue to grow my investments with him.
@Inthemoment830 Well, I've gotten into a plethora of assets with $30k spread across stocks index funds, and ETFs, for the long term. I've been investing with help from a pro fund manager, Herman W Jonas who oversees my investments. I've been reaping my dividends, I just reinvest from time to time.
@Strrrong 36-year-old high school teacher and single mom here. I don't make much but I want to make better financial decisions. I wouldn't mind hearing from a pro. Is there a means to get to him?

🔥 Financial lesson. We need fiery financial professors like Anthony in ALL elementary schools teaching children how to build personal wealth numbers and not just calculate wealth numbers(arithmetic)
It’s the truth. I lost my job. Going through divorce. I had to pawn things for $400. If I had $400 saved I would have never been in that position. Took forever to get sentimental items back. 3years ago. Fast forward. Painful lesson. I have a savings just for emergencies. Invaluable
This wasn’t what I came on here to watch…but somehow I clicked on it and it resonated with me so much and BLESSED me! I am doing this and sharing it with my family and friends. Thank you!
I don’t really agree with a $1000 emergency fund cuz there might be times where that’s not enough so I always keep putting money aside every paycheck no matter how much I can afford at the time I do it. Got a couple grand now and every time I make extra side work money I take 5% for myself and put the rest away.. I hope this helps people and I’m not bragging man. I just learned the hard way.
You work for 40yrs to have $1M in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10K in a meme coin from just few months ago and now they are multimillionaires......
At 52 this has me pumped!!! I ain't 33 but I want to leave my family with benefits not debt. Ordered Destroying Student Loan Debt. Thanks Anthony for your passion. God bless!❤
I thank God that I was close to my grandparents growing up. My credit and financial outlook has thrived bearing the things they taught me in mind. My parents didn't uphold the same values very well but my husband and I have put the things you covered into practice (they are the basics, like you said) just listening to their advice. So grateful for the example they set.
For someone who has not started their investment journey but has done a lot of research. In this economic climate, am I better to save and enter the market when I see companies at my price or to invest a % of my savings each month? I have about $100k.
That’s true Investment-Advisers are best known to outperform the index thereby yielding good returns. A new study by investopedia found out that demand for Portfolio-Managers sky-rocketed by over 41.8% since the pandemic and based on firsthand encounter I can say for certain their skillsets are topnotch. My portfolio has accrued over $845k within 18months from an initially stagnant portfolio worth $183K which was devoid of dividend stocks.

Tina L. S. Smith - soon to a single mama of two young adults and one kiddos. Just found a job after my layoff in 2021. I AM ALL IN!! working the baby steps!! Have my initial emergency fund established and working on baby step number two. I am working it in True baby steps but I am doing it! So excited to be in a better place as a single woman than I ever was in my 30 years of relationship with my husband. Thank you and the others on the Ramsey tram for all the guidance and direction. It hasn’t been easy and it isn’t going to be moving forward however I AM GOING TO DO THIS!!
Lay off was actually in end December 2020. And I didn’t miss a payment on any of my bills because I followed what you teach and took care of my four walls while I was unemployed. Again, thank you for your guidance. I don’t know where I would be without you, Dave, Rachel, John, And the ready of the team!
So much knowledge in this short video! "Most of us came into this world crying... I'm not leaving this world crying". Easy, conceivable principles to apply. I love your humble, realistic approach.
As a 22 year old myself saving for 2 years now I am glad I found this Man! Love your podcast! I am hoping you can do like a live Q&A I am sure I am not the only one who would love for you to do this at least once a month to start and if people love it possibly weekly!!!!
Superb video. But, let me share this here knowing it can uplift someone that comes across it. Effective financial management made me rich and it is all you need if you want to build a strong financial future tomorrow. I started with 1000USD, 3 years ago I invested in a diversified stock market and fast forward to now I am worth 500000USD and am currently finishing my 8 unit apartments. I'm only 35 years old. Diversified stock investments have always proven to be very profitable, especially with the help of experts.
I'm really impressed. At 35, i was worth a little over $200,000 from * in the stock market. But what you've done with your *finances* and numbers you worth, is pure genius.
*Investing* in diversified stocks is a real hustle that has made me . I have two active stock portfolios and hope to create a third, which will increase my total return on earnings to over 120000USD
You have done well. It's people like you who set the benchmark for people like us to know that achieving financial stability and transition of status from being comfortable to wealthy is possible with the right *investment* plan.
@@ferkmorgana7032 Experience plays a key role when *investing* in diversified *stock markets*, which is why I have Rachel Hilda, whose experience has greatly helped me persevere in the diversified *stock market*. Nice video. Preciate all you do. Real quick though. It took me 11 yrs to build up 13k in my 401k. I took out 11k a yr ago they charged me 2k for pulling out early, 2k of my hard earned money so i got 9k back took 2k from my personal account to make the 11k i needed for a downpayment on a rental property. I have a tenant in the property paying me 1,375 a month, subtract the $247 mortgage. I have made more in 1 yr with that 1 property than i have saved in 11yrs of 401k. Thats how you create generational wealth. Cash flow. Put your money to work not in jail. Again thanks for the content. God bless
This is the kind of conversation that needs to be happening in schools so the kids grow up towards good future. If everyone is doimg well financially, who else would shop lift and steal.
This is my fire right here! If there is one thing I harp on my kids about is having real wealth! If there is one thing I pray they take from me.. it’s exactly this lesson. Thank you this session! I will work on my Starbucks problem.. the struggle is real on that subject!
I must say first that I’m a die-hard Chris Hogan follower. I listen to you for the younger folks in my family who might benefit from your message much as Chris was for me. Your message today really could not be heard through all the screaming. A calm voice can be received and absorbed a whole lot better. Wishing you much success as you find your way.
I remember I wouldn't pay my credit cards- on purpose. Something in my head thought that they would just go away... lessons learned. I also remember I would overdraft my checking account ON PURPOSE with cashback 3-4 days before my paycheck because I ran out of money. 5-6 overdraft fees per paycheck were a normal thing, payday loans were a regular thing. I was in denial. Life isn't supposed to be like this, you guys!
This video is foundational and a great example of what is possible. I said recently that I want to be a millionaire and I whole heartedly believe it’s very possible. I thank you and I pray I do everything to make it happen. I pray God blesses all those who need financial wisdom as well.

Wow, i am so grateful that i stumble and subscribe to your channel because i am learning so much wisdom, to be honest i was not taught these money principles when i was young and now i am paying the consequences for my wrong choices. i am now in my thirties with two kids and i am learning how to be better with the money God has blessed me with. I love your show and may God continue to bless you.
I love the teaching. Thank you! I'm so sorry that most people weren't blessed with parents to teach these things. I'd just love this video more if it was enthusiastic, but not yelling. I've had to turn the volume ALL the way down, and force myself to keep listening. I couldn't possibly listen to this with my earbuds.
I see u giving good advice I once was indebt but realized my needs and I wants and change my attitude if spending 25 years later I have no debt and no credit card to pay and living comfortably with us provided.

Anthony is pure gold! And not just for students! I’m 37 and married with 2 kids, a business, and a stay at home mom and he is absolutely relevant for my life and money!
My man, folks have to reward themselves someway. I do. I go out for coffee 3 times per week and I enjoy my time reading a book and sipping on my coffee at the coffee shop. It’s therapeutic . Having said that , “a budget” is more relevant to building wealth. For example, my budget is $17 per day for food/grocery/entertainment (I call that my personal per diem). I don’t spend it all everyday and that means I can do more things when I decide to use it by having it saved. In summary, Budget AND enjoy the little things in life (like a coffee) , it makes the journey all that much better in the end. Needless to say, I invest all the rest of my money after my expenses. Anyone can become a millionaire with some discipline.
Good afternoon Mr O'NEAL I am happy you pointed out the blessings is always in the giving. Thank you very much for educating everyone. I am happy I listen to Mr Ramsay years ago i own my own house today.

AO- I love how you celebrate Christmas by putting up someone in a hotel. Jesus needed shelter that first Christmas, and now you're offering it to him through others. What a beautiful gift you offer to the Lord and to that family!
Im a bank representative, and I agree with you about ppl cashing their checks at the store and going to Pay-Day Loans facilities for assistance. However, you never told ppl what they should do if they only know what they know. Ppl, allow your financial institution to give you small loans so that you do not have to get caught up in Pay-Day loan companies. FYI... a credit union is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS better than a bank. Become a member of your local credit union and take advantage of the benefits. As for cashing your check, allow it to be direct deposited into your Share Account (savings account) and that builds a relationship with your financial institution. They look at this as a connection and a source of recourse.
