Coronado Island, across the water from San Diego, is a great area to explore with tons of fun restaurants, hotels and beaches. I love going down there on a warm summer day and have been doing so for years. Here are some of my favorite spots, let me know what I left off in the comments.

I lived there from the 7th grade til I graduated High school (1977-1984) All I wanted at the time was to get out. Now all I wanna do is go back. I visit every coupe of years.

Thanks for the tour! I kind of grew up in San Diego, and my dad was stationed at North Island. Mixed emotional memories of seeing him leave on a carrier, and return on a carrier (multiple times). We used to take the big ferry before the bridge was built. Super vivid memories. Thanks again!

I’m 17 from Dallas Texas, live with my sister. Her husband is being stationed in Coronado in 3 months and I’m going with them . I’ve always loved the beach I’ve never made it very far but this is going to be life changing .thank you for this video

Will be in San Diego, just for one day in May this year, we were there in January 2018, but didn't get to Coronado. I think I know how we will spend our day. Cheers!!

California lens through my camera. There’s so many places I would skate more than bicycle. I like to meet this youtuber. I like the Coronado island bar beer from all over California. One friend I met here lives near by. I got four wheel skateboard. I like to ride all the way down the end of the peninsula island. The the sky scrapers from across the bay. The paddle boat is cool.

I grew up in San Diego, and my mother worked on Coronado. She used to bring us to work with her on weekends and after work she would take us around the island. This video brought back many fond memories! Thank you!

My daily walk. From the bay, to the amphibious base, then to north island along the water, and back again. Then it’s off to Balboa Park, another great walking spot.

The place is beautiful. Have been there many times for family vacations and we always get to stay at hotel del Coronado. Many of the things you talked about were extremely similar. Never knew the sand dunes spelled Coronado though!

We stayed at the Lavienda Inn across the way from the Del Coronado last August. We fell in love with the place it's beautiful and coming from England everybody was just so friendly. What a stunning place. We loved the local bar McP's Irish Bar where Navy Seals go ... Great food beer and atmosphere. Off course the trolley tour picks you up from the island and takes you to San Diego and all it's sightseeing areas. Christmas 2021 we will be back. Can not wait. Note: Had breakfast at the Del Coronado, wasn't cheap but an awesome experience. Great vlog 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽

We used to stay there back when I was a pup, late 60's. We stayed at place across the street from the Del, the hotel was built in and around Spreckles mansion which was built in 1908, the Glorietta Bay Inn. Was a great place to stay. We went before the bridge was built, you could either take the ferry across which we usually did. The other option was to drive along the Strand.

I WAS IN HB (THE OC), BUT I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, SAN DIEGO. BLACKS BEACH TO SURF, AND THEN GET NAKED AT THE SWIMSUIT OPTIONAL BEACH (SURF NAKED).

I was fortunate to live in Coronado throughout the 90s. I loved it there. It's a great community. Be sure to catch McP's Irish Pub while you are there. It's a Navy SEAL hangout.

I've lived here for ten years, and the ferry landing, as well as the Spreckels area, should at least have been mentioned. Possibly the El Cordova and the restaurants there, and maybe the boathouse/Glorietta Bay Marina.

Wife and I are planning a trip in early April. Question for those familiar with Coronado. If we take the ferry, is everything else easily walkable, or is it best to drive?

You don't need to take a ferry, you can drive (if you're renting a car) from the San Diego Airport to Coronado in about 10 minutes, its just a nice little ferry ride that's relaxing, you can also just take a cab to drop you off in Sea Port village, its a really nice place, tons of shops, where the ferry drops you off is on the north side, also a ton of shops and restaurants there, but if you want to go to the Coronado hotel, you'll have to take a cab, its about 3-4 mile walk. There's a ton of stuff walking distance from the Coronado hotel.
