I told my husband and family that I was making sure I had enough food, water, and meds for several weeks because Im not going out after the election unless we need medical care. The whole planet has gone insane and evil is trying to take over. Pray like never before.
If cereal or crackers taste a little stale you can pop them in a 300 degree oven for a few minutes to dry them out. It’s the absorbed moisture that causes foods to go stale so removing that freshens them up.
Spiritual preparedness is the MOST essential preparation. Without out it only your earthly body will benefit. Everything we have is a gift from God and we can show our gratitude by following his instructions. No fantasy. No cults. No chanting. When trouble comes be prepared to seek cover under the wings of our Savior Jesus Christ. He is our refuge and our protectior.
Great tips! I feel the excitement in the air. Relief from the crazy is coming. Praying is what the rest of the world is doing, we have the ability to do the actual work. Vote!! This is not a sports game with 2 teams, this is our country and we can vote. The rest of the world is praying we choose the adults. And if you agree, fantastic! And if what I wrote makes you mad….well…ask yourself why….
What good is cereal without milk. Keep a supply of powdered milk on hand. Also have vanilla on hand because a teaspoon of vanilla in a half a gallon of milk makes it a lot more palatable
Buy shelf stable milk. Walmart carries whole milk, almond milks. Great to buy & keep on hand for any time you realize you may be out of milk & don't want to make a special milk run. Also great for traveling
@@SuzyM64 agree. I buy it at Walmart occasionally to take camping unfortunately, it only lasts about a year. If you want more long-term by a good quality powdered milk. I buy mine from emergency essentials. It has a shelflife of many many years
We spent all day draining hot water heater.Decided to get a new one.My husband has a garage full of stuff and still had to go back to hardware 3 times.I have felt off all day because water was off and he was working in the path.Im grateful for his knowledge and ability to do it and the fact we have money back.In retirement big things break down.Be ready.
LITTER too, it can be used if you do or dont have a cat. if no cat, it can be used for your own potty, lookup how to make a portapotty with bucket, pool noodle (or commode seat) and so on. great too for camping.... dont forget your pets will need food, water and medical also.
We just had 28 hours without electricity. We have plenty of food but we also didn't open fridge or freezers the whole time so that's something to consider, not accessing cold food.
I am so glad that you made a point to say don't buy Rayovac batteries. That you let people know they didn't do right by you. I had a management company not do right by me after living there over 9 years and they have made no attempt to even give me back the right amount of security deposit and wrecked my furniture because an unqualified maintenance man flooded my apartment and furniture was ruined last year. These companies and corporations should be held accountable for their harm and actions.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. Yes, it is important to stock up on things slowly, but not to the point where it drives a person insane with panic. That's not helping anyone. I'm not putting this video down. One day at a time. That's all we can live.
@@debbieframpton3857 If you aren’t going to make any sensible preparations (assuming you have the ability to do so), are you going to expect someone else, including the government (taxpayers), to take care of you if there are riots, etc.?
@@debraschwicht9741 , I have between 1and 2 years worth of food stocked up depending on expiration date. I feed 4 indoor cats and a few outside cats so I have a Year's worth of canned food and several months of dry food in storage containers and over 300 lb of cat litter stored up. I don't see how these type of videos are helpful for those that cannot stock up for whatever reason money or space just gets people panicking over something they cannot control.. Yes there might be shortages or higher prices but we don't know that for sure and people will always find something to eat. I don't believe the government is coming for our food and I don't expect the government or anyone else to fed me
Another thing to buy is packs of lettuce seeds. The dollar tree kind works fine too in a pinch! Plug some seeds in flower pots or even in your front yard flower beds and you'll have fresh greens anytime you need for this fall. There's some super cold hardy kinds like Mache and Claytonia which will grow well into the winter and even to Spring depending on your area. Almost free salad greens and you can't get any fresher!
Definitely feel that we are living in the last days. It could be a day or twenty years, only God knows. Pray for wisdom and discernment. God is in control. 🙏
Thanks for your wise words. We have a spare bedroom, its filled with bottled water, tuna, soups, can beef, can chicken, cases of can vegetables. Also, bought 20 lb bags of dried pinto beans. One 10 lb lb white rice.
We live rurally. I have been stockpiling basic items since before the Big C. With my husband retiring Jan. 1, I have been taking serious stock of what we have on hand, what I still need to put in. Cereals can be heat packed in glass jars. Don’t stock in their original packaging as that leaves a waxy taste to some of them. The other thing is if you have an electric stove - Upgrade to gas! When the power goes out, you can still cook. You simply have to light the burner. Be Safe, Be Prepared, Be Blessed.
Butane stoves are inexpensive. Came in handy when we lost power for 12 hours. French press coffee maker only needs hot water and ground coffee, does not need electricity.
Butane burns clean and hot, just know that, at about freezing temperatures it also freezes up in the lines. Propane is better if you can expect to have cold weather where you live.
I use my garden goods all year. This past July a horror storm came through and really hurt my garden. So I’m going to do my best. I hope my garden is better next year.
I have probably 5 years of face soap on hand right now ( not kidding) and for some reason I have gotten socks 🧦 and blankets like crazy 🤪 didn’t know why and now I know. Thank you 🙏
I am so glad you said that about cereal. I don't pay attention to "expiration dates" or "Sale by dates", I never have. On 99% of items I found they are good months and sometimes years afterwards. I just opened up a box of cereal that was marked 2018! Weetabix Cereal was still good! I am eating through the box right now!
Nancy, I'll pray for your improving circumstances. Hope you're exploring food banks in your area. You have to be open to what they have available at any one time, but they may provide some relief until your financial situation improves. Also, your utility companies may be of some assistance. If you haven't already done so, make the calls. You never know what's available, even if it's a one-time credit to your account. Every little bit helps.
@@maryanngregorek8865 I appreciate the prayers always. God provided amazingly by getting me ready for tough times and even without food bank help, has been providing again. So many are struggling, we can use prayer for the evil days we are in.
Proverbs 29:2 (KJV) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. I’ve been talking to people all today that have been expressing that same uneasiness. I’m almost positive that they don’t fully understand what it is though because they’re not spiritually attuned.
I don’t feel anything is off or about to happen, with that said, I have always appreciated you saying we aren’t prepping for the end but rather a job loss, illness, etc. Murphy’s law will always apply at some point to all of us.
This video is so timely. While clearing my house I am working on restocking my house/pantry. I just got a notice that my price book has shipped! That was FAST. Thank you for all the work and time you put into your endeavors.
My friend, who is just like a sister, is coming over today & we're going to be canning peaches. Next ill can applesauce, potstoes and greenbeans followed by tomatoes
I appreciate the matter-of-fact kind of way you presented this. No hyperbole, no drama -thank you. That other way, has gotten my subscribe list so much smaller. As usual, your hard work is showing in your beautiful yard --great job Tawra & any helpers! -much love in Christ ~Mary & fam in NJ
I am not a prepper. I trust solely in God and I know He will take care of me. But, I will go into this winter with a small, but full pantry and I recently saw a lady's video about taking some empty glass jars and filling them with fresh water. Cap them tightly and stash away on some shelves just to have a little reserve of water. Canning jars are great but washed out pickle jars can also be great to use. I dont have lots of room but I will fill up a few jars and maybe even have a couple of 5 gallon buckets sitting in my extra, seldom used bathtub, that can be used to pour down the toilet. Just a few little things stashed and hopefully not needed. I have cats so I may pick up a few cans of chicken just in case we have a shortage of canned pet food. I can make do with canned veggie soups but the cats are way more picky! 😅 Keep strong in your faith...and if you dont know my Jesus, I hope you will want to get to know Him. He makes life down here, in all this continuing chaos, much easier to bear! He will take our worries and concerns if we will just give them to Him.❤
Kamala Harris is planning on price fixing food. Jimmy carter tried this massive fail.Grocery stores will hace enpty shelves and there will be shortages.
Your cookbooks are the best cookbooks I have ever seen. I can find whatever I'm looking for and the recipes are amazing!! If anyone is looking for a wedding shower gift, or a gift for any new cook .... These books are gold! Thank you SO MUCH for all the work and time you have put in....both on the cookbooks and your you tube videos! ❤
Blame the politician. The did not listen to the people. Where is the protection for the people that are born a there home land soil and just been ignored. Have to give way for the protection of illegals? 😢
@@EvelinHolmes Absolutely agree with you. Two tier Starmer now has 24 hour courts in progress for anyone protesting, all white protesters arrested and armed muslims allowed to carry baseball bates and machetes to use against white protesters. Police never arrested muslims for carrying and using those weapons, why? You would think our government really hated us wouldn't you. We are being replaced.
They are more expensive, but Buy Energizers and PREFERABLY the Lithium Batteries. They are guaranteed for 10 year shelf life and they do not leak like other batteries. Even the Energizer Alkaline Batteries are better and rarely leek. NO NOT leave batteries in your Flashlight or radio, except for your regular use/emergency grab flashlight. And preferably use Lithium Batteries in those. So, if two years from now, you grab you light to check out something that goes Bump in the Night, it's going to work. Before I retired from Law Enforcement, I ALWAYS use lights that used CR123 Batteries, and bought the "Surefire" brand, or Duracell or Energizer CR123's. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE THE CHEAP CHINESE DOLLAR GENERAL STORE OR DOLLAR TREE BATTERIES.
I only buy Rayovac now. Had REPEATED leaking Energizers and copper top in recent years. Got nasty acid substance on computer mouse, clocks, remote contacts. No issues with Rayovac. If the battery contacts touch each other in storage, they’ll explode. Learned that as a TV crew member with AA batteries in our pack.
We are in Ohio here, just had a tax free week just about everything up to $500 was tax free. We spent $700 in 2 days stocking up on paper products, personal hygiene, soaps, first aid, OTC drugs and tools. Will be picking up extra boots, leather work gloves underwear, in the upcoming weeks. Canned goods have been stocked for awhile.
Amen! Thank you, what we need is more people like you. God’s plan will happen. And he will take care of his children, all those who spread LOVE and not Hate.
Well, Lilly, I hope you’re right & that everything goes smoothly. And, if so, I’ll simply have a few extra cans of food on hand to eat over the next few weeks. If you’re WRONG, and riots DO happen, hmm. (Democrat Jamie Raskin is saying there’ll be a civil war; it’s not only conservatives who expect trouble.) And, if those riots happen, I won’t have to go out for food and supplies until things have settled down--and you will. Good luck 😏
I stopped using Rayovac batteries several years ago as they leaked big time. Living in hurricane prone area those items are kept as regular stock items. Store brand batteries are better performance wise.
Yes, things are definitely "off" lately!! We've been stocking up gradually for a while. Water is something we need to think a bit more about stocking up. Great tips, as usual. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
@@kerrynwright if you have a canner or stock pot look up canning water, you just need quart jars, lids and rings for wide mouth or regular mouth, water boil it for 10 minutes, and fill your jars, have your lids and rings in hot water wipe the rims of the jars, and put the lids and rings on have your stock pot or Waterbath canner filled with hot boiling water, going and put the jars in process for 10 minutes, can up how many extras jars you need, I believe 3 quarts make 1 gallon, and I have had it on the shelf for 3 year's, and rotated it. I use it for cooking, and to put in my Keurig coffee machine. Hope this helps. 😀
I noticed that you can pick up bread makers easier than ever... I bought my last one at the thrift on sale... for only 1.00... If you can not make bread yourself... or are very concerned about your ability... these are great... and the price is within reach at a thrift... Makes you home smell lovely and fresh bread for pennies...
LOL lots of water, miracle grow, fertilizer, bug killer, deer repellant and about an hours worth of work a day. That's my "secret" formula! hehehe I'm glad you like it!
Everything is going to pop evil is abounding. But JESUS is still on the throne. COME JESUS COME. I AM READY especially for the rapture Thank you appreciate you from Indiana
Yes, I’m trying to prepare, too. Never say never! We lived through a pandemic! Can you freeze celery? I tried and it was watery. Thanks for any help. Love your videos!
I SO enjoy all your videos! And look at your Spring outdoor yard😃 So beautiful!! One of the things I'm looking forward to in eternity is visiting with brothers and sisters and I count you among the sisters❤
Love your book... Saving for another... They are so great... I have used half of your recipes so far... They never disappoint... Thank you... Ann, Ann Foster, BooksbyAFoster
I have books 1&2 and have used them so much! They will become your "go-to" cookbooks! The extra stories and recipe cards really make them feel personal! I have not had even 1 recipe to be less than great!
A lot of these items can be made with flour and water. Make a sourdough starter and most carbohydrates will be taken care of. Also go with a bag of masa. Beans, sugar and salt. Grow a garden. Potatoes, onions, garlic, peas, carrots, etc.
I know these things. But when you are in a small senior apt there is limited cupboard space for stick piling and having water stashed. I use my Zero water all tge time but hard to decorate with 5 gal water bottles
The cook top of some of the propane stoves can be used during an power outage. The stove will need to be lit with a match. Check your health insurance for the OTC benefit.
At some point years ago I got a little 2 burner camp stove that uses small propane cylinders. Very handy when we get hurricane related power outages in NC. We also have propane stove and wood stove in shop as alternative cooking when electricity out for a few weeks. Just no oven then.
Tawra long time watcher for tour evening live shows. My father has since passed away last month and now I will be leaving Florida. Can't afford to live here with all the high costs of insurance and property taxes and such. I will be taking the tools that you have taught us and move on to where my dollar will go further. I will stay in touch and let you know from time to time how things are going. I still have to sell the house so that will hopefully give me a good start. And yes I will be moving after the election want to make sure to vote with out having to redo everything first. Thanks again for all your advice throughout the years.
