rolie25 not really. Have I ever heard of the World Wide Web???or to make it simpler for your bird brain...... ever heard of Wikipedia??? Read idiot. Read.
That was a common knowledge. He said that in many interviews, "the shit that I do in the ring, there is no way you can do that all without being high on something."
@@stevenasante8662 sandman dropped acid in a ladder match with Sabu lol he described Sabu (at the peak of his trip) looking like "Godzilla" on the top of the ladder
They should have stayed in Smokey Mountain wrestling, Jim Cornett could have keeped him in check, I love ECW but Paul Haimen pretty much made his behaviors worse.
By veteran of you're referring to that Gypsy Joe guy that situation was partly the fault of the promoter and gypsy himself for not informing newjack that apart of Gypsys gimmick was to no sell everything. That's what pisses newjack off.
Because Vets knew how to handle it. Most matches didn't go left, but of course some act like that's all Thai happened. Ask why did wrestlers of color work for racist promoters/promotions! Did it mean those guys disrespected the talent every time out? No! You maneuver through and make it work if its not to crazy yell
He doesn't care. Like you needed a Dark Side episode to figure that out. The first time I saw him in action I thought to myself he doesn't give a shit about anything.
3:10 you missed the point bro. It was a little kid that rubbed his, not "some guy". Saying it was a child shows that they honestly believed what their parents told them
Still it kinda sucks that people can hate another person so much that they would actually avoid them to that level... Wait till they need a blood transfusion or organ donation and only blood/Organ available comes from a Non-White person
that arm rub things isnt a shocking revelation. being black, growing up i had another child do the same thing to me. expecting the black to rub off on their hands.
My mom's boyfriend was black and I was probably about 3 or so and I had thought the same thing, probably just for the sheer fact I hadn't known any black people up til then. He laughed when I asked him if that happens. I mean, I knew who Michael Jackson was and this was around the "Thriller"-era but that was about it, lol.
@@blackphillip8486 smh, where did you learn that from though. Cause I swear black parents and friends never said no shit like that about white folk (now I was told you should act different around them because you would get blamed for anything that guess wrong (its happened before) but I still acted the same. Just learned to understand how some folk are, learned about history, never will forget it and sweep it under the rug like some suggest, but still find a way to treat most as equals. Yell
Kindergarten onwards my best friend was the only black kid in our school. We were just best friends off the bat and still are good friends even though I moved away 10 years ago. Skin color didn't mean a damn thing to us, especially as we both liked wrestling.
@@box5bastard277 lol, no offense meant at all, I take folks as I meet them and have raised my daughter to do the same regardless of race, religion, beliefs etc. I don't think I'd learned it from anyone, it was just being a dumb kid who'd never met a person of different color at the time and in my ignorance/innocence I just thought that might happen. The only reason I probably even remember it is because of my sisters, mom and her boyfriend laughing about it every once in awhile as I got older, lol. And as I said, not trying to offend anyone I was just being honest. Stay safe folks. 😊 Edit: And I didn't think I'd turn black as the kid's dad in the video told him, I just thought it would come off like make-up or something.
john boreman did I ask for your opinion of him or say we need to discuss yall racism?... I LOVE how you bipassed the racism to talk more about his behavior as if it EXCUSES racism...
I lived up the street from where mass transit happened. Place was a mob scene with cops everywhere. I just had moved over there from New York too. Crazy thing to see as a kid. I’ll never forget it.
Sometimes I'm astounded at some of the things the what culture staff dont know about famous wrestling stories. In this instance, most people had heard about koulas giving instructions. I think blue meanie mentioned it
There are always a bunch of dolts who are so full of negativity. Step out of your mom's basement. World is too big to fight over two RU-vid channels who won't even share their earnings with you.
One thing people need to remember, there are a lot of people watching the Dark Side of the Ring series that don't either watch wrestling or look for shoot interviews or read the dirt sheets. While wrestling news site like this have no reason to not know this stuff as that is their job, I think the "we" they are referring to is the general public who might not have known this stuff before hand.
I kind of feel like he uses the racist slures aimed at him as an excuse in that Gypsy Joe incident. Sure what the crowd was yelling is not ok but is beating up a 72 YEAR OLD man the correct reaction to it? I don't really see the correlation here.
@JaZe PooL That's just a excuse than to call him for what he really was, an old man who only wanted to take liberties and go into business for himself. He's old-school so he she know that's what happens when you go into business for yourself.
He didn't actually say the Danbury fall was his favourite, he said it was his most memorable, just putting that out there as the former is misinformation.
Anyone know any more docs like this? Wrestling itself doesn't interest me anymore but all the behind the scenes drama fascinates me. Binged this series in 2 days.
Andy: Eric's dad called Jerome the naughty N word after seeing him butcher his 17 year old kid repeatedly with a scalpel, the fathers actions were incomprehensible & unforgivable. Stay woke. SJW fo-fo-fo 4 life, 4 life!
@@DJDub88 this definitely isn't me when im trying to find and chance to defend saying racial slurs and name dropping SJW to give the illusion what im saying merits any thought or the time it takes to type it. OPs comment was about the use of African American in the video instead of just saying black, and so you decided that's a perfect opportunity to spout your unoriginal, flaccid bit/opinion piece (?) Because your point was present so piss poor its honestly pathetic i cant tell what you're going for. Either get a better sense of humor or maybe stop complaining more than them "gish darn millennial SJ Dubyas" 4 4 4 the rest of yo life!!
D.R.M Reacts a worker is someone who does athletic things. Seth Rollins, Kenny Omega, Eddie, Benoit. He can get the crowd hyped like Hogan but no one would call them workers.
@@johngutierrez9277 That really depends on who you ask. Most of the old school big names were not particularly athletic or didn't do particularly athletic things (which is why modern wrestlers get such a bad rap from the old school people). Triple H didn't do the things the people you mentioned were/are best known for. Is he not a 'worker'? Come to think of it, neither did Mitsuhara Misawa or Kenta Kobashi or Toshiaki Kawada. I guess they weren't workers either?
Remianen I never said Triple H wasn’t a good worker. His matches with taker shows he can work. You leave out Ricky Steamboat and flair which is apart of that era. Those are workers. You can be a showman and succeed in Wrestling.
Everytime I saw deelo brown, I swear he gave himself concussions walking to the ring. He would whip his neck around and while I know its before cte and all. I just dont think its smart, especially added wrestling in that time was still more risky then now.
Having issues with something is one thing, but to brutalize someone over some words? Are you insane tf? So if I as a black belt were to be told by a white belt how to do a technique, should I side kick that person in the throat and stomp him out just because I don't agree?
@@evergreenrider good so if it ever happens to your son on front of your eyes, you had BETTER NOT stand up for him when he gets beat to pieces as a way of being told "no". "B-but dad i-.." "ahh it's okay kiddo, he only broke two of your ribs, be glad he only kicked your throat once." 😒
unfortunately, that is not how the universe works, "karma" is not a wrestling receipt, if you knew anything about life you would know A- the bad don't always get punished (hell he gets publicity and fame for it) B- Karma only works in the AFTERLIFE, open a book dumb shit
There's something truly poetic about having a guy who really embraces the nihilistic almost joker like persona of a wrestling character. To the point where the persona and the person are literally one in the same. That's what makes a wrestler more than just some wrestler. I mean yes it does make him come off like some kind of complete psychopath a little bit but then again you have to be more than a little bit masochistic to want to be a wrestler, let alone succeed as one.
I get content is hard but we all LITERALLY watched the content you are listing. Can we get a round table discussion of the episodes via online video call? let me see your personalities bouncing off of the information. You guy's personality is the reason we watch! Just a thought.
dark side has done a good job of tearing down some of the luster around these wrestlers. hearing New Jack's rationale for his own despicable actions ended any good feeling i had for the guy.... i'm sure there are reasons that may explain his utter disregard for truth, humanity, etc (and we heard a bit about his upbringing) but his actions are of a completely anti social person
I learned that Mustafa was crazier and that you shouldn’t smoke pencil shavings with the stuff growing on the side of a building because you’ll get arrested and claim that the cops are trying to f$$$ you.
Ok ngl if a huge fucking dude landed on my dome bc he messed up a spot he knew he had to take and never checked up on me id be fucking livid too. Shits not right but i completely get it
Totally off topic here, anybody know what the song is playing in the background???? I’ve heard it in other whatculture videos and I’m intrigued. Thanks for anyone that takes the time to respond.
