GUYS! We've been so ready to share more of our natural lifestyle/minimalistic approach of life with yall!! We gotta know. What is your list of things you no longer buy? Or what would you like to stop buying? We are always decluttering and would love to know!
1. Dryer sheets (they use wool balls instead) 2. Plastic storage for food (they use glass instead) 3. Medicine (use natural remedies) 4. Non-clean makeup (Chelsea wears little anymore, if she does it's clean) 5. Laundry detergent (don't eat that tide pod lolol) 6. Water bottles (plus they have Brita filter) 7. No candles (they use a diffuser instead) 8. Canned goods (prefer fresh fruits and vegetables) 9. Perfumes (often creates low grade allergic reactions) 10. Anything with artificial dyes (ex. mouthwash)
I feel like this way of life should be encouraged more within Christian circles! God’s creation (and our wallets) shouldn’t be abused for unnecessary things. Thanks for sharing Chelsea & Nick ☺️🙌🏼
Super cool to see you guys encouraging minimalism!! When I look at the design of creation I believe we really were meant to live a simple, minimalistic lifestyle, and it's so cool you are leading people towards that!!
We agree too!! It's not easy but it's for sure rewarding!! Much more room for meaningful space and our mind can be thinking of things greater than just material things. :)
Abigail R0se it really depends on what you’re talking about! Overall we think we’ve saved because we buy from mostly one brand but natural living is more expensive in general. 😊 Consider it a major investment in health tho!
What have you found that’s natural to help with headaches/migraines? I have been suffering from them more than usual recently and am looking for a more natural way to help them until I can figure out the root cause.
I suffer from chronicle migraines 3-5 days a week, it's genetic but has gotten better since leading a more natural healthy lifestyle (some weeks I don't get any headaches/migraines, others I have them for several days at a time). These are some of the ways I've been coping with the pain. Water, peppermint essential oil on the temples (and maybe even the nape of the neck if it's a tension headache), peppermint tea, noise-cancelling-headphones (I listen to JoJo asmr, specifically the headache videos), low lights and or blinders. I also tend to eat something when I feel a headache/migraine coming on, it helps prevent/dull the pain. Hope this helps!
Loved this video!! It’s given me some great ideas for going natural. I’m starting out by no longer taking any medications like y’all are. I see a chiropractor for everything instead of a traditional medical doctor, because they take a more wholistic approach to healing the body versus medication to cover up symptoms. I’ve been 5 months without medication and I’ve felt more refreshed. For allergies, I take a couple of drops of Thieves essential oil and it works way better than allergy medication for me personally.
Don’t use essential oils on your will dryer balls! I used to put lavender or citrus on my dryer balls but it is actually a somewhat big fire hazard! I learned that from shelbizzle on RU-vid and once I thought about it, I totally understand. It’s literally oil going into a static environment
I have recently begun this journey of replacing household products with ecofriendly products as well, and I love it! One website that I order all of my stuff off of is called Melaleuca, it’s privately owned so people who are on the website already are the only people who can refer people to it, but if anyone is interested I can help y’all get started! It has helped me SO much and I feel so much healthier and better knowing I’m making a conscious effort towards my health and the environment. (:
I would love for you to check out the brand Arbonne. All of their products are vegan and free of 2,000+ toxins. I think you might like what they offer. They are a health and wellness company dedicated to helping people feel good on the inside and out. They believe that a healthy you begins with a healthy gut. If you want to learn more I’d love to tell you more! I love you guys so much! Keep loving Jesus and being a light! :)
The way Nick looks at her when she speaks and how she looks at him. We love the respect in this relationship👏. Also been a subscriber since 2013. 7 years later she is married and I am 20 almost 21.
Loved this!! I really pray that you get some brand deals with awesome natural brands in the coming months. There’s definitely more of a step into that direction which is amazing! Keep going guys 😊
The headaches caused by candles is because they are burning oxygen, and that’s why they always tell to open a window if you’re burning candles. I still love them, but stopped using them for the same reason :(
Ive never use dryer sheets, i had never heard of dryer sheets until i heard about them on youtube, as for headaches im with you on that, i actually sont use headache tablets., never have, it either eventually goes naturally or as you said if they are constant there might be an underlying cause, i use poeder laundry detergent, mainky fab and another, but thank yiu for yiur insight I'll definitely be taking what yiu both said on board
Yea just like the mouthwash, toothpaste is bad for you too. There's this other thing called miswaq which is used as a toothbrush, it's natural and way healthier. Look it up for sure
I put a dryer sheet in my laundry one time and the next day I put on a shirt from that load of laundry and I literally got an itchy rash all over my arms. I had to rewash all my clothes because the residue from the dryer sheets were all over my clothes. After that experience I am never using dryer sheets again.
What do you guys use instead of perfumes/fragrances? Do you just dilute essential oils and use them or do you use natural essential oil based perfumes? Thanks for the video, I loved this!
I don't buy fast fashion anymore. Instead, I choose to support companies whose workers are treated ethically and better quality. It's more expensive, but I am very minimal with my wardrobe.
This has definitely inspired me, I've always been brought up in a clean organic home, but growing up and becoming my own person I'm realising how it actually is so important to live healthy and clean, not just for your skin but for your insides, how it makes one feel. So thank you amazing humans for sharing this video!!!!!!!!
I loved this video!!! I also try to use all natural products on my skin!!! You probably know this but you do have to be careful with the essential oils you use, they can also be synthetic!!! Love you both !!
His Canvas of grace I use youngliving!!! They have 100 percent all natural supliments, baby products, skincare, hair care, essential oils and so much more!!! Ask me any questions. Also if you'd be interested in getting an account, just let me know
Curious how you feel about the Monat Brand? I've recently started my personal non toxic journey & I've really seemed to fall in love with Monats products. You seem very educated so just curious.
I'm trying to be more eco friendly because i have noticed a difference in my skin. I use natural deodorant and cruelty free skincare and makeup. I have also looked up the wool ball things for the washing machine. Apparently the essential oils are flamable 😂😂😂😂 it's one source but they did it in red capitals and I can't stop laughing
The propylene glycol listed in the mouth wash (and many MANY other items food and otherwise) is a common allergen that could be affecting more people than those diagnosed with an allergy. I myself am EXTREMELY allergic to propylene glycol, and fragrance. Makes buying products, and eating out for that matter, very inconvenient 😒 Thanks for making this video, and good luck on your truth seeking journey! Lol
I have never in my life used dryer sheets, actually don't think I've seen it in a store either (in Norway). Never had problem with static from not using it, (I do use fabric softener in the washing machine, so that might help prevent static) but I mean if people want to use it go for it :)
Good job! I'm a big fan of biblical oils, e.g. frankincense, myrrh, sandalwood. Watch out for for spikenard (nard, of Mark 14:2-5), it's I-N-T-E-N-S-E.
I like watching you guys! But inhale to say that I don't 100% agree with the canned goods one. We have five people, three of which are teenagers. While most of our food is fresh or fresh frozen, we have canned corn, beans, and some tomatoes. We also eat canned chicken on occasion. But, I agree with everything else you guys said!
If you haven't already, you should check out Melaleuca. It's a brand focused on natural ingredients, not chemicals. My mom started using a lot of their cleaning supplies recently and loves them.
Thank you for all of the info! I have been paying more attention to my allergy medications.. it is absolutely insane of how much side effects they are, pseudoephedrine can cause your heart to race, shortness of breath which are two of many side effects I’ve obviously stopped taking my allergy medicine & going more for a national solution. But what do you guys do for lotion or face wash? I am on the hunt for a organic body/face lotion
Love you both and your sweet genuine personalities! It is very nice to see you both making an effort to live more naturally - I agree with what you said about the artificial scents and dyes. I really wonder over time what it could be unknowingly doing to our bodies. Also Chelsea what is your natural laundry detergent made of?
I was getting extreme headaches and couldn't work out what was causing it. it was the candle I was burning. as soon as I removed the candle my headache went.
I love this! I don't hear minimalism & intentional living when it comes to what we consume talked about enough in christian circles, and I think it definitely should be. Keep up the great work guys!
Yesss, thank you for this! I have been so fascinated with the minimalistic and eco-and-body-friendly lifestyle for a few years now. The only hesitation I had with that list is candles. I've never had issues with candles, but the diffusers have given me headaches. I'll have to consider what you said about some oils being better than others.
I use a botanical disinfectant and plant based cleaning supplies from melaleuca.com/sarahferrara 😃. You can use two of them to wash produce as well!! And they have many other categories too by the way
I actually started doing the wool ball with essential oils...... and then I realized they are highly flammable... I no longer add the oils, tea tree, lavender or citrus especially
I literally cannot get the stink out of my husbands clothes without the tide pod 4 in 1's :( lol but I would like to go more natural. Can you tell us how to make your home made detergent? Id love to give it a try!
