I can confirm #10. My sister used to work room service at a Marriott in the States. In the late 90s/early 2000s, when Flair was with WCW, my sister brought dinner to his room. He answered wearing nothing but a yellow banana hammock. She didn't really know who he was. She was just kinda creeped out by the encounter.
Also in SvR 2007 season mode, HHH became the authority figure and said "...it's what's right for business", which is very similar to the actual catchphrase he used
Personally, while in TNA, I really enjoyed the Flair/Foley beat-yourself-in-the-head promo. Entertaining. I also thought the Flair/Jay Lethal imitation and whoo-off promo was hilarious!
Simon's dad: Goldberg blampied: bischoff jack: heath Slater (I got kids, man!) pacitti: Vince McMahon (the original illigitimate son) king Ross: jbl (they have an awful relationship) Sam: Kevin dunn
honesltys he made the 2k14 symopossiouim funny i still watch it to this very day and love his back and forths with jim ross. except it should be longer when ask flair was mentioned. plus the harley race stories were great.
What about not all of his 16 World Championship were in the WWE. He had only 2 championship runs in the WWF/E, 9 in the National Wrestling Alliance, and three with the Mid-Atlatnic Heavyweight Championship (which would turn into WCW) and if you count the St. Louis Wrestling Club Championship... which makes Flair's record to 17. So technically, Cena has already surpassed Flair's record.
I know everyone craps on Ric in TNA, but his last man standing match with Foley is awesome. Ric takes some crazy bumps including thumb tacks, and is one of the few times he climbs to the top rope, AND ACTUALLY LANDS THE MOVE through a table, no less. While its obviously not as brutal as the hell in a cell fall, Mick also does one hell of a dive off the stage too!
The saddest 911 call ever is from Ric Flair when he found his son dead from a drug overdosed in the hotel room next to his.. Truly very sad.. If you look it up, BEWARE..

I was kinda expecting the Road Rage incident in '05 near Charlotte, NC to be featured. I just remember it very well since Edge made fun of Ric in a hilarious promo lol
Fun Fact: The Rungrado 1st of May Stadium in Pyonyang, North Korea, is the largest non-motor or horse racing sports venue in the world. Its official capacity is now 114,000 after individual bucket seats replaced the old benches, but originally the stadium could hold a legitimate 150,000.
Totally agree the Reid Flair thing by Paige was over the line. I cringed when they did that and started getting texts from friends who also couldn't believe they took it that far. Ahh, Flair and Steamboat helps the anger. Greatest match I ever saw live - them at the Chi-Town Rumble in 1989.
And I don't know where there getting this shit that flair and piper had heat cause they've always said publicly on how much they love each other. Flair even inducted piper into the hall of fame!
I never liked Ric Flair when I was growing up. But to be fair I grew up in the Attitude Era of wrestling and he always played the heel for the most part. But as a kid I always wondered how this old man was really expected to hang in there with the Stone Cold and The Rock. Pretty much my first questioning of how wrestling wasn't real.
Love the nature boy Wwwhhhhhooooooooo!!!. So many great matches, my personal favourite is probably Wrestlmania 8 against macho man randy savage!, there are better matches with flair in but the story line the build up and Heenan on the commentary, love it. If you ain't seen it or just forgot it well worth revisiting. (just don't watch the clusterfuck between Hulk Hogan and Sid Justice) I think that's why a lot of wrestling fans forget the title match because the hogan vs sid match ended the card and really stunk up the place!.
Damn, Flair sure knew how to draw enemies backstage like no other but this was another great list of my favorite top ten subject. Here's more suggestions I like to see in the future: Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, Macho Man Randy Savage, Kevin Owens, Matt Hardy, Scott Steiner, Michael Cole, Jim JR Ross, Jerry The King Lawler, Joey Styles, Tazz, Paige, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Sable, Lana, Rusev, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Vince Russo, Jim Cornette, John Morrison, Melina, Mickie James, Paige, Chyna, X-Pac, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg Jesse James, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Christian, Paul Heyman, Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Eddie Guerrero, Daniel Bryan, Mick Foley, Sunny, The Dudley Boyz, Rob Van Dam, Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, 2016, Booker T, Mean Gene Okerlund, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, Linda McMahon, Ron Simmons, William Regal, Eva Marie, Dusty Rhodes, Cody Rhodes, AJ Lee, AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Zack Ryder, The Great Khali, Jeff Jarrett, Victoria, Hardcore Holly, Molly Holly, MVP, Rey Mysterio, Bobby Lashley, Wade Barrett, Bobby The Brain Heenan, Alundra Blayze, Jake The Snake Roberts, Bruno Samartino, Jesse The Body Ventura, Vader, The Iron Shiek, Austin Aries, Shinsake Nakamura, Finn Balor, Rikishi, The Usos, Naomi, ECW, NXT, WCW.
Ah... glad you put that pic of Steamboat and Flair at the end. I was like you at the end and I remember what they did about Reid. That was low even for Vince. Note to Vince, you do NOT do that to ANYONE who has lost a son and you DON'T do that to a true legend. Ugh. I need to look at that last picture again and find my happy place. There we go! YEA! Ricky and Ric.
Okay I am just going to preface this by saying it is my own personal opinion and if me voicing forces you to need to flame me into oblivion, please feel free. How about the fact that Flair is probably one of the most overrated pro-wrestlers of all time? Imho THAT should have been number 1. Okay please feel free to commence the insane bombardment of hateful comments. None of which will change my opinion. Remember, now opinions are like assholes we all have them and are all entitled to them.
thatlsk While I appreciate the compliment attempt, I am actually not trolling. I legit believe Flair is overrated. Like many who made their names in the territorial/WCW system, he has more hype then his talent, athleticism and personality would warrant. Again this is JUST my opinion. I know it isn't the prevailing one, but it is my opinion none the less.
Don't see how Flair is overrated. He was easily the best US-performer in the 80s, one of the best talkers of all time with tons of charisma, was a big draw for the NWA/WCW, had some of the best matches of the decade, was able to put on good matches well into his 40s and 50s, was able to make anyone who was in the ring with him look like an absolute mega-star, put a lot of people over clean despite being one of the top guys, and despite him only having few moves at first glance, he was able to hold his own on the mat, was a good brawler, was great at telling matchstories and create drama and was always well known for having incredible stamina, being able to fight 60 minute matches on a regular basis. Yeah he had a formula for matches which he often used, but it was a formula that almost always worked, and he has more than enough classic matches in which he shows that he was easily able to change things up to make the match different. I'd still like to hear your reasoning for why he's supposed to be overrated, though.
Can't really be overrated in a predetermined sport. He put butts in the seats consistently for decades. He did his job, wrestling isn't real so his in ring skill doesn't have to be great, he made his career with his style, charisma and mic skills, those are way more important in pro-wrestling than ability to wrestle.
Cark7428 Well he's classic because he is good, maybe not great as a 68 year old man, but in his prime, he was pioneer of wrestling. Wrestling is big today because of guys like Flair.
Awkward when a whatculture dude wants to poke fun at Trump for words he said, but then gets caught with sexual harassment sometime later 🤔😂 that joke didn’t age well did it Adam?
Ok I'm going to play the bad guy here and I know I'll get a ton of heat for saying it but I stand by it.... Ric Flair is overrated Legend of the wrestling world? Of course, but he's still overrated
Is it even possible to come on the internet with an opinion without leading to quite frankly childish insults? See here's the thing, because Flair has been around for a long time and said the same thing every week, people seemed to get sucked into it: "16 time champion, I'm loaded, limousine riding etc...." But that's just it, it was just smoke and mirrors and theatrics. The reality is (and this is where people get pissy) Flair as a wrestler (not a showman or entertainer) wasn't that great. You can shout 16 time world champion all you like, but so what? Lengthy title runs and multiple reigns in wrestling is hardly uncommon. I mean look at Cena, the guys held nearly as many and he's terrible
