takes more bumps in a week 20 years into his career than Andre took in an entire year probably. There will be a big turn when he retires and gets in the HOF where everybody suddenly appreciates him though, so I look forward to that, he's definitely earned it.
Definitely. And easily the greatest giant ever in the business. I respect Andre for what he was, But if Big Show recieved his booking Andre would be nothing but a footnote, all other giants couldnt even run at the age he's at now or were dead. Yet he's in the best health of his life. Feel for him being so poorly treated.
It is worth noting that medical science has advanced enough that Big Show had the condition surgically cured. Not taking anything away from either wrestler, but you can't just compare them side by side without mentioning that.
+Crispy27 Richard Kiel (famous actor) lived to 74 without acromegaly surgery and he was born nearly a decade before Andre. from the early 1900's it was treatable with surgery and in the 70's medication was now available to help counter act the effects. It could've easily been treated if Andre wanted it treated or if he knew (which obviously he did.) So while obviously i agree medical science had improved it had 0 affect in comparison of the 2 because Andre didnt have the surgery where as Big Show had his when he was 20.
Fair enough, but I have to disagree that it's not a factor in the comparison. Had Andre had the surgery, regardless of the reason he didn't, his career would have been much much different. It's still a HUGE effect on the comparison.
A.K. Styles How am I disrespectful? I have not told Big Show to retire once in my life. I'm just saying if people are going to chant that at him, it's hypocrisy to not chant "Finally" when it actually happens. Why chant something if you don't mean it? Why change your mind based on something that happens? If people hate him, starting to love him when he retires makes no fucking sense. Just like when someone dies people start respecting them all of a sudden. "Michael Jackson is a pedophile lol.... oh he died? What a great person he was."
....MinimiMax, get over yourself. Like, urgently, otherwise you may go too far and then no one will be able to save you from your own wild delusions. Stop saying this as if Big Show would actually give a shit about your crappy little SJW behaviour. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeet fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
yeah and people chant "please retire" at him, yet don't realize that he has been putting over so much young talent on his way out, he deserves our respect.
He's also a little boring in the ring because they've forced the role of "slow giant" on him to make the fights more believable. The guy can do a fucking Shooting Star Press lol
And despite it all, still one of my favorite wrestlers. Have met him in person half a dozen times over the years, always had time to sign something or grab a picture, always had a smile on his face. The heel/face turns were a killer though, hard to cheer for a guy if you don't know if you should.
Absolutely he's a class act. I met him once when I was a kid when my dad was sick and he spent nearly 2 hours just hanging out with me and my little brother. Then after our dad died made sure to send flowers to the funeral home months later. I haven't seen him since but that meant the world at the time and he'll always have my respect.
+wgsmeister Punk was mentioned soon after he left, and is mentioned to this day. Chyna was even mentioned before her death, and she'll more than likely be a HOFer soon. And, that steroid trial has been brought up in many recent WWE documentaries.
Actually they did mention Mick Foley before but that's in matches. They hadn't made a 10 Things WWE Wants You to Forget list about him yet. I bet you one of the things was being beaten with a chair until he bled by The Rock.
In No particular order: •His many botched lines back when he was starting out in wwe •He's been fired Twice •He was rejected by the SD locker room and had to change in public bathrooms Also "The Miz's Chicken" •His some of his ic title reigns were only a day long •He was the "Jericho" in the Cena Rock fued at the Very bad Wrestlemania •A lot of the movies he's stars in are dog shit. •He had the IC on set of a terrible (before you ask its Marine 5) instead of dropping it, stopping its amazing run it has had this year and hasn't recovered ever since. Miz vs Darren Young His NXT rookie was better than him.
It's up to 22 now since he returned to RAW and literally just showed up to go from heel to face and left. Not to be seen again till the Royal Rumble. Where he'll inevitably turn seven more times in the course of one match
Make that 21 turns, since he had a match vs Seth Rollins on Raw, went in as a heel, then hit a move on Kevin Owens who was at ringside and walked away a face. Crazy.
Another great list, I love this list alot. Here's my suggestions for the future, Seth Rollins, Rey Mysterio, Ric Flair, John Morrison, Charlotte, Paige, Dean Ambrose, Matt Hardy, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Mick Foley, Daniel Bryan, Booker T, Jerry The King Lawler, Jim JR Ross, Michael Cole, JBL, Michael Hayes, Hulk Hogan, Mickie James, Melina, Lana, Kevin Owens, MVP, Paul Heyman.
I feel relieved when I see some of these lists, and there is very little real dirt. It shows you while everyone makes mistakes, not everyone is a horrible person.
Really would love a 'What WWE wants you to remember', or something in that more positive vein. Especially for Big Show. People forget his good moments (me included) with all the negativity surrounding him. He could do with some appreciation... I'll miss him at least >.>
Adam you also forgot when Edge bribed him to tag with him against john cena. what did he bribe him with, money? no because why. Edge bribed him with his actual real life girlfriend lita.
+Meepzy Lost his athleticism? You realize 10 years ago he was forced into training at developmental for a while because he got so fat and was literally fucked after a couple of moves? (around ecw title reign) Made goldbergs matches look like bret v shawn. He's now 44/45, an age where every giant before him was in a wheelchair or dead, yet he's cut from 480 to 400 and is in the best shape (his words not mine) since he first won the wwf title. 100% do agree poor booking has fucked a lot of the care people had for him but a retirement match against a basketball fucking player is something a talentless hack like Khali deserved. Not a literal legend of the business. Im fine with him going out now, its the right time. But the way he's treated by some of the fuckwits in the IWC and his last opponent is an embarrassment to his career.
+Meepzy Yeah i agree with everything you said mate. Same goes with Kane. He and Big Show were freakish in their younger years when talking about athleticism. But yeah age certainly has taking its toll. Im just happy he can still easily run around healthy and not have the issues Khali, Andre and Gonzales had/have especially at this age. Yeah he's done it all, he has nothing left to prove to anyone i just want him to have a send off match he deserves. Id love for him to retire with a belt but im not sure how he'd be treated.. then of course relinquish it the next night and have his retirement speech on RAW. Yeah i love guys like corbin too man, Harper as well. Apparently strowman can go too but id wish theyd give him a little more freedom with his moves, gets old fast.
+Little Savage He could win the Andrew the Giant memorial battle one last time as a retirement match...including some serious competition. Or the Royal Rumble. Would be very appropiate...better than a belt.
+Sirion If the Battle Royal had legit competitors for once id definitely be fine with that! Yeah man he's certainly earned it. I was thinking the IC title since the last time it was defended one on one Big Show won it vs Cody. Having him when the usual 6 man match, then show gets to have a prestigious title one last time before hanging them up. Then raw after mania they could have say Sami Zayn win it (if he's not doing anything)
I don't know if people remember the reason WWE called him The Big Show - it was a dig at Vince McMahon's biggest rival at the time Ted Turner, who broadcast WCW on TBS. The Big Show (T.B.S.)
Damn Adam low key predicted the future at 3:29. Now none of that core is with the team anymore in favor of starting a new platform that has overshadowed WhatCulture since then...oh ya and Adam exists! In time and space...y-ya!
That moment Whatculture WWE replies to you on a totally different video but you cant find it so you go to their video to say your thanks (This made my day!!!)
how can you not forget about his feud with mark henry it was just horrible and i don't ever want to see either of them wrestle each other again. good opening had my kids leaving the room to see if something else is on lol not joking.
Except that one was justified here, the Big Show literally used that term, Adam didn't pull it out of his political correctness bag of political correctness.
I love the way that Big Show always gets a heel pop in Salt Lake City. Even when he was a face Big Show would get booed constantly by the crowds in Salt Lake City. 😄
My friends Dad is a huge Islander fan and told us the story of Big Show breaking the dude’s jaw at the Marriot. The Nassau Coliseum is right next door.
