I dunno. Most, if not all shoots on Vince haven't painted him too badly. He is business, he is upfront, he is direct. I'd say he's as trustworthy as anyone.
How many of the 4 I mentioned are in the HOF? They were put over and went far with wwe regardless of where they started. Another wcw guy - Steve Austin. Brian Pilman. There were a lot who started in wcw and wwe didnt bury them.
Sting is one of the FEW guys who always did what was best for the business not what was best for himself. i think sting saw WWE as the only real hope for wresting in the future and went out on his back to promote the future of wrestling. im pretty sure sting knew he didnt have much time left and knew how he would be treated in WWE and went there anyways.
+Eden kanangila a legend buried. ask any one who never saw wcw they think stings some washed up ash been who never won anything... its sad. They buried him and his career. maybe I'm biased as sting was my fav wrestler besides scott steiner.
Jigsjigz Luckily for me, although I wasn't of his career in wcw. I first met sting in TNA, and he was practically in his prime there. When he first showed up in TNA to take down Jeff Jerret, whom I hated as champ btw, the commentators talked about how he was legendary and this got me confused as this was the first time I was seeing this guy, but this fact got me interested and I looked him up. It was because of my TNA phase (2006-2009) that I got to know more about sting, otherwise I would've been like one of those clueless people who don't know about WCW. I also discovered scott steiner through TNA as well, but in my opinion scott is over-rated, although I or anyone else who thinks that wouldn't say that to his face.
@Hugh Ropp either I'm crazy, or your stupid... I'm guessing the latter if you listen to anything the wwe said. They've spent the last 20 years ruining wrestling... and I was talking about the ultimate warrior not being liked. Not the stinger. Everybody loved sting
Yes he should. But the all proud , all WWE HHH would never loose to an ex WCW wrestler, no matter who it be. Whether Nash,Steiner or sting. WWE could have profitted immensely by having Sting in wwe
When you discover the personality of Steve sting borden you can't can't love him as a wrestler too. I just love the way he is mentally and how he's passionate about wrestling. He's a true down to earth man in my opinion.
***** you're kidding of course with this psuedo "wwf hall of fame". It's actually laughable, a hall of fame for 'pro' wrestlers???!!. It's bad enough that guys get paid severe freight numerals for basically playing a kids game, Ex. baseball, football, basketball, and get inducted into their games Hall of Fame, by Sportswriters. But who votes dummies like Rick Rude into a sports entertainment hall of fame. Every time I hear that term wwf hall of fame, I just shake my head in utter amazement at the true stupidity that the entire thing encompasses. Steve Borden should be ashamed of himself to work for Vince MacMahon. Totally ashamed of himself and his actions. Borden a self professed Born Again Christian willingly taking 'blood money' from the epitome of EVIL, the MacMahon's!
+BooUrns Actually, Sting has said that Seth Rollins did nothing wrong. Sting took responsibility for his injuries stating that he failed to protect himself while taking the move from Seth.
+BooUrns First of all, I'm not a Roman Reigns hater. Secondly, I could care less who Sting was in the ring with when he got hurt. Those words about it not being Rollins' fault came from Sting. Is Sting the hypocrite then?
that was marck callus V/s sting..Sting cannot face the fully grown up mark callus ( undertaker)...A match wm 27 Undertaker V/s sting Proposal was already turned down by Sting back in time when Undertaker was at his toughest phenom times....Any future match such as Undetaker V/s sting will only end up a Shame for Sting because he is certain to lose to undertaker
@@burythehatchettruce4550 dont disrespect a legend like Sting the only time you have seen Sting wrestle was probly in the WWE go back to the late 80's early 90's and watch him he was the best my opinion is he was the best wrestler of all time and if he spent his whole career in the WWE i bet a lot of people would have thought the same thing !!!!
stufaman what you have to remember is sting is mostly at fault here as well. It took 13 years to get him onto wwe as he held out, wrestling for TNA instead, infront of crowds of 460 people..
Martin Le Davis To be honest. I would have preferred Sting stuck to his guns and become the most iconic wrestler to never compete in WWE. I'm guessing he missed it deep down. It's kinda sad seeing end with a whimper in WWE. But yes, TNA was abysmal. Well at least when Hogan destroyed it.
The fact how Adam uses these photos thru his presentation is so cleaver, you just gotta catch on to each joke he says which goes so perfect lol and that last part when he said "A true dream match" showing Triple H vs. Roman Reigns at WM was so spot on like they really thought it was a dream match to put those two against each other at the main event lmao 😆
Mark callus was too young into wrestling at that time....Mark callus grew up into undertaker killing mankinds rocks stone colds , andre the giant , Ultimate warrior , Diesel....One more match Sting V/s undertaker would be shame for sting because we all know undertaker will win it. Plus Sting already turned down a match proposal with undertaker WW 27 when undertaker was in tough phenom times
Of course the Undertaker would beat Sting due to the fact the WWE wants to be better then the WCW guys look at there history since 2002 by burying the WCW guys when the came over to the WWE. If they were fair to all the wrestlers including the WCW guys we don't know who would win between them both but that will never happen.
+Miles McClagan Sting actually acknowledged that in his Hall of Fame speech. Technically, he acknowledged TNA by referencing Joker Sting. (I only mention that since it counts as a reference on WWE TV.)
+H Flor don't lie. sting said "shall I quote the joker gimmick but yes he did reference it. because I watched it live on wwe network. but this is not an argument but a statement.
That worst chair shot from sting was probably the best disguise any wrestler in the crowd has ever worn. Sting wore a Sting mask. Shortly after that chair shot he took off his mask to reveal his face paint. It was glorious.
Just because WCW fans wouldn't boo Sting doesn't mean they didn't "buy" the heel turn in '99. They actually quite liked Sting as a baddie - "Evil Sting Rules!" - in fact the fans liked it so much they all went and turned heel too!
WWE should have had Sting face Taker as his debut match have Sting lose and next Mania do the HHH vs Sting match where Sting wins and can retire mania score 1-1 happy ending.
Triple H used to be a WCW guy.. IIRC he lost to Ricky Steamboat back in the 90's sometime challenging for the US Championship.. He was known as Jean Paul Levesque back then..
The one line I remember from Stings HOF speech was when he was mentioning all of his gimmicks he said "can I mention Joker Sting?" (from TNA) I bet all the WWE officials were like "no! no! no!'
How about when Sting was debuting for WWE, they were teasing the dream match by first using a game match between the two to advertise 2k15 and then a few weeks later they made a documentary chronicling both the Undertaker and Sting's careers in their respective companies, even calling them the counterparts to each other's careers. And then they fed Sting to HHH and Vince decided to not even do the match
I always agreed with Sting's rejections of WWE's overtures until this decade. His 1st WWE match proved why he stayed away. I'm not shocked that the botched WCW invasion was a factor.
+Jack Mcdonald I don't even like TNA and can say that they treated him with respect most of the time, booked him pretty well and gave him a good ten years on TV. WWE couldn't even give him a win at a PPV, a run with the title cause their egos are too big, and just buried all the star power and accomplishments with "He's just a WCW guy." The best thing they did was put him in the Hall of Fame.
Sting in TNA >>>> Sting in WCW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sting in WWE
The second people like Arnie went in, I lost all respect for the hof! Meant to honour wrestlers who have put their lives into the company and also some iconic wrestlers, I.e Sting! So yeah, I agree!
+Goolz96 Here we go: No. 10 - The Miz beating John Cena at WrestleMania 27 No. 9 - Cena burying Nexus No. 8 - The Katy Vick angle from Kane vs. HHH in 2002 No. 7 - Lesnar kissing Kurt Angle No. 6 - Mike Adamle's role as Raw General Manager No. 5 - The "Johnny Nitro" name No. 4 - Hacksaw Jim Duggan beating Stone Cold in 30 seconds for the United States Title in WCW No. 3 - Kevin Federline defeated John Cena one on one via pinfall No. 2 - Ric Flair technically being a 21 time World Champion No. 1 - Chris Benoit
+Goolz96 - I pride myself on knowing a great deal about pro wrestling, but I'm not sure where you get the additional 5 titles for Flair...I know he was never the title holder in TNA or ROH, so - Japan? Where? Thanks!
+Michael J Goddard 2 time WWE Champion 9 time NWA World Heavyweight Champion 8 time WCW World Heavyweight Champion 2 times WCW International World Heavyweight Champion (which was still a World Title at one stage before it was unified with the main WCW World Title) Which brings it to 21 WWE only recognised 8 out of 9 of Flair's NWA Title reigns, 6 out of 8 WCW Title reigns and neither of his 2 WCW International Title reigns, even though they still happened. Which brings it back down to 16 So for kayfabe purposes, he's a 16 time champion. But in reality, he's a 21 time champion
I liked Sting so much when I was a kid and even back then I thought it was weird that he didn't wrestle much. Thanks for this video it explained a lot.
Pretty sweet video. Sting has been one of my favorites for as long as I have watched wrestling and by far my favorite wcw hero as a kid. I expected to see something about the Rick rude injury but I guess the wwe still acts as though rude never existed after how he left.
I despise how WWE used Sting and virtually anyone from another brand. Heck, for that matter, look at The Dudley Boyz. It's like WWE is punishing them for ever having left for TNA. I mean tonight on Raw, they had Bubba get knocked off the apron, and D-Von pinned and beat by Colin Cassady in less than a minute. I mean seriously? It's no wonder CM Punk dropped that infamous "pipe bomb" on Raw now.....
It's what the fans want though. The Dudley Boyz are business, they are putting over Big Cass. Enzo & Big Cass are looking like they will be on for a great tag run.
Its the nature of the business. Some of the greatest to step in the ring would constantly put other guys over. Shawn Michaels was one. He could make any match great but he lost a lot of those and it didn't matter a bit.
Actually Sting and 'Taker wrestled twice. 'Taker is on record as saying getting a win over Sting early on was what pushed him in WCW and meant he was able to get the exposure to eventually become a huge star, and that is why 'Taker is always keen to help young talent.
Honestly, the Sting v. Taker thing.. I swear happened one other time. In the lead up to their "Future Shock" Starrcade PPV. I still seem to recall them going at it once on WCW Saturday night as part of that build up. They took members of the 'teams' portion of that event and put them against the singles competitors of the same event. I'm waiting until that portion of the archive shows up on the network to scan through it to try to see if it is there. (Along which checking the running times to make sure they don't cut it to 'edit' history.)I freely admit, I may be mistaken on this.. because it was a very long time ago... but I honestly still believe that it happened.
When i was in 2nd grade my parents took me to a wcw wrestling event, the head lining match was Sting vs Ric Flare. I was hooked, and I'm still nostalgic when i see wrestling on tv. LOL thanks Sting and Ric
+MrTy2K 10) WWF 9) The E, the logo is WW and they call it World Wrestling. 8) Vince McMahon died. 7) Vince McMahon is alive with no explanation. 6) WWF New York 5) Capitol Wrestling Corporation 4) Jess McMahon 3) How Owen Hart died. 2) Hulk Hogan 1) XFL
He was brought in far too late. Him and goldberg in the wwe at the same time would of been amazing, would of made the return of NWO Work a little more although Scott Halls coke steam train of pain was inevatable
