Just to clarify for people who are confused as to what his colour blindness is, my understanding of it is as said in this video that he cannot distinguish between reds or greens which also means he actually can't see them, an estimation of what people who experience this form of colour blindness see is that reds and greens both appear as a duller yellow pigment and this is why he is unable to distinguish between the two.

I've known for quite some time that Eddie Redmayne was colour blind. Some people tell me it's a curse, I beg to differ. It is such a beautiful, yet hard road to travel. And although it may seem trying at times, I've seen that he's never quite or given up in life. And that's the real beauty behind his physical disability. I, personally, believe that the trials that come into many circumstances, are just preparing us of the wonderful things yet to come.

Alysha478 I think he does. the video said that he is red/green color blind and my understanding of it is that if there is a lot of green like a place with a lot of grass, and there is a red ball on the grass he can't see it. I know someone that is red/green color blind and he explained it like that.

So he can only see blue and yellow. There are 3 primary colors from where you can extract all the other from mixing them. These colors are blue, yellow and red. Green is a product of blue and yellow, so he can't see any tipe of color between those two. He can't se anything that involves red too, so that means no purple, no orange, no pink. So the only colors that he can see clearly are pure shades of blue and yellow, any mixture with these colors will be less bright. Basically, any other color other than these two he sees in shades of gray or in grayish versions of blue and yellow.

I havent fact checked this so sorry for confusion, but it is to my understanding that colour blindness isnt always grey, but the colours he cannot differentiate, red and green, instead appear as a yellowish colour.
