Cesar was the clown Jack was the gangster Heath was the anarchist Jared was the deranged Joaquin was the traumatized Mark was the voice... All different takes to a very complex character. They all add to the levels of who Joker is.
Even for a re-upload, this still kicks ass! Thank you Minty I like hearing about Heath Ledger's performances. With out a doubt heaven is well entertained! 😇
I was skeptical about Heath Ledger's Joker at first until someone explained to me the kind of direction they were going with the film. Just when I started thinking of how wrong I was is when news of his passing came up. But his role of Skip in Lords Of Dogtown is what really won me over along with The Brothers Grimm. I went to see his last film Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus in theaters as well. Truly a legend that could have outdone himself several times over.
Same here. When I first heard he was cast, I was disappointed. That pretty boy from Brokeback Mountain? But then I saw the movie and DAMN, he sure proved us all wrong. That guy put a whole new spin on the Joker we never thought possible.
Batman Begins (2005) and Superman Returns (2006) should’ve led to Batman v Superman. Christian Bale and Brandon Routh were the perfect age to build the DCU for the next 2 decades.
There’s a single frame in The Killing Joke wherein the Joker looks just like Tom Waits, and that always stuck in the back of my head. So I found it very gratifying to discover that Tom was actually one of Heath’s inspirations.
I was cast in a small part in Heath’s last movie, “Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” which also featured Tom. It was surreal to hear Heath died while I was in wardrobe.
My dude!!!!! This is the Movie I've been waiting for!!!!! Absolutely love this movie my absolute Favorite Batman movie ever!!!! Heath Ledgers Joker is amazing!!!!! The Best Joker ever!!!! Keep up the great work 👍
According to action movie star and Dark Knight and co-star Michael Jai White Heath Ledger did not go crazy he was happy to go lucky on set until they said get ready for action then you would see him wander off by himself Mumble a few Joker esk things to himself and then when the camera went action he went into Joker there was nothing wrong with his Ledger other than a mixture of unfortunate medications and depression The Joker did not kill Heath Ledger
Couldn't agree more. It was an amazing performance. When people said to me, he couldn't get out of character. I always said you do realize, behind the camera is like 70 people at all times. He knew he was filming a movie.
@@edkeaton hia amazing first movie with a 19 year d Rose Byrne that got him the job In 10 things I hate about you The insight into 90s/2000s Australia The gets better with age crime classic TWO - HANDS (1999)
While a good performance the only reason he won an Oscar and is remembered as a phenomenal performance is because he died. PERIOD until then NO ONE was saying it was best ever, which is Jack Nicholson, or Oscar worthy.
I remember going to the theater to see this. Was a bit skeptical about Heath Ledger as the Joker, since Batman is my absolute favorite of all time. Walked out raving, and singing his praises. Even tried to find a poster of the scene where he's sitting in the solitary cell when he begins to clap. Hands down, best Joker EVER.
Yep, there is no other Joker. With all these woke-puke franchise-destroying abominations, it's time to make Woke-Lefty's pics on the back of Milk-Cartons.........FUNNY AGAIN!! 😆😂🤣
Before i watch this video: If they mention the hospital delayed explosion this is a shit list. That's common knowledge. Edit: Allrighty. You did not dissapoint. Knew only 1 fact from this list. Well done!
While the Movie is Good and Ledger was an Amazing Joker, to me it’s not the Masterpiece that other say it it, I just think it’s Underrated with a Few Flaws.
MINTY! I love your videos. May I make two suggestions. First a movie recommendation, Only Lovers Left Alive. A great modern take on the vampire movie starring Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston and the late Anton Yeltin. This movie is dripping with atmosphere and a hypnotizing soundtrack. Second, you should start doing video game 10 Things You Didn't Know, for example Super Mario Brothers.
Christmas is coming up. This will be a perfect time to do a 10 things. You don’t know about Dr. Seuss how the Grinch stole Christmas live action Jim Carrey version.
Ledger was completely legendary in his performance and u can tell it's him some of the time but other times it was like the joker was real and it made the dark knight surreal best comic movie since batman 89 and the best comic book movie since still can't be matched
9:09 I like the original concept design of The Joker in the 2008’s The Dark Knight better because it’s so disturbing and can actually tell how creepy the villain is. But I can understand, they went to the final design, which it is still creepy, but less disturbing. I think the main reason is sell toys. Which I can understand.
Trust me, "Rory's last kiss," fooled absolutely no one. The summer of filming Aaron Eckhart skateboarded around Chicago, and loved hitting dive bars. It was the summer of Chicago. Public Enemies was also filming. 👌🏿
Heath Ledger did an awesome job - but I mostly remember the guy in 10 Things I Hate About You, and the scene where he is singing Can't Take My Eyes Off of You...😁🤣
The more I think about this movie the more I've come to realize Batman totally failed his mission. He gave up for eight years, and then ONLY came back later for one day just to fight Bane, who wouldn't have even been there if Batman truly saved Gotham in the first place.
And here I was, thinking the lip licking thing was a genius little quirk that He he threw in to make him seem more twitchy and neurotic. Lol. I remember when Brad Pitt did a similar thing for his character of Early Grace in Kalifornia (1993). I love those little touches.
Minty, I LOVE ya, I love your channel, and I love your comedy, but it's pronounced "Prahs-tet-tick"... Yeah, I know you're Australian/British, and I know you've said that you have some learning disabilities, but your (AWESOME) channel is about movies and cinema, and I KNOW you can do this! Repeat after me; Prahs-tet-tick, lol...
Mad Money is actually Katie Holmes best performance. Which isn't saying much. But Mad Money is quite enjoyable. However, I don't blame her for turning down Dark Knight. She was married to Tom Cruise at the time, and probably wasn't getting paid all that much to be in Dark Knight, a role that was essentially a nothing role. And probably got no back-end from it either. Plus her character plays no pivotal part in the movie. And The Dark Knight wouldn't be any different if all her character's scenes were cut. As opposed to being able to have a starring marquee role in Mad Money, that more than likely paid 3X as much as Dark Knight paid.
Isn't this a re-upload video? I could swear seeing it before....or maybe it is my mistake. Still a great video, and an amazing video, congratulations Minty 👍👍👍🥇🎖🥳🎅☃️🏅🥇🎄❄🏆👏🤗
How did he prepare (Drugs) passed away........no no (committed suicide) get it right...Jack Nicholson is the only Joker (besides Hamil, voicing him) end of story 👏🏻 👏🏻
Okay so which is the best movie sequel? The Dark Knight The Batman Returns Superman II The Wraith of Khan Aliens T2: Judgement day The Empire Strikes Back
Before it starts, guaranteed I know at least 7 of these 10. Edit: you're WRONG. The dark knight was shot under the name "Rory's first kiss" damn, insult us AND be wrong? Do your job. Edit 2: WRONG again, Robin Williams didn't try to be joker, he was BAITED as a villain, Riddler mostly and then really pissed off that they didn't hire him. Do. Your. Job....... Correctly. Edit 3. The truck scene flip was NOT REAL. It was PRACTICAL but done with models and there IS NO WAY to flip a tractor and a trailer bc it would break off at the joint connection or the "hogs head". YOU SIR DO NOT DO YOUR JOB.....correctly
Sometimes a Method Actor must be Sacrificed for the Greater Entertainment... Sorry for your luck Keith...but You Will ALWAYS Be Remembered... No go chase some cars!
@@the_black_phone9001 to me, the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire movies were the best (and only good) Spider-Man movies. Amazing Spider-Man was garbage, I’m glad they didn’t make a 3rd one. And I didn’t care for Homecoming, it was too much like a kids movie
10:04... I Looked at Joker Licking His Lips Due to His Scarred Face & How it Healed Over Time. (Cause I Have a Chipped-Tooth & I'm Constantly Biting That Thing With My Lip(s)!)
There have been great Jokers, but I've only ever seen Heath Ledger's Joker in reproductions of paintings in the Istanbul bazaars. Also T-shirts, posters and tattoos worldwide. The People speak!
Yes Definitely A Good & Classic Movie!! Heath Ledger did a Really good Job, he Pulled it off!! He will be Missed! Good job Mr. Minty!! Keep Going Strong!! 🤑
I liked the movie a lot and Ledger's performance was excellent, but I am old school. I prefer Nicholson's kind of put together, Joker. The craziness was just below the surface.
7:18 nah mate.....She passed on the movie because Cruise couldn't handle her co-starring with Eckhart again after their spicy scenes in "Thank You For Smoking". Sounds much more accurate.
I respect leaving out speculation of Heath's mind set but the truth is that he was really addicted to pain killers and sleeping pills which all dry your mouth and dry your lips. So Heath's licking was a side effect of the pharmaceuticals he was taking which was PROVEN later on after his passing. Still THE BEST live action Joker, though.
Kind of thought he was going to mention that Bruce Wayne's Lambo was the model called "Murcielago" which is the Spanish word for Bat. Even his civilian car was a Batmobile. So, much for being subtle.
We are newer subscribers (my boyfriend and I) and love Minty! We have recently gone into watching all the Batman movies in order (since 89, although we might go back around for the earlier ones) and so we will watch the corresponding Minty video for each movie after we watched it. Can anyone tell us what happened to the Minty video for the Dark Knight Rises, if there was one? Much appreciated ♥️
I'm sorry, Minty, but you couldn't be more wrong about your comparison between Holmes and Gyllenhaal. Holmes was far and away the superior Rachel Dawes, warranted by nothing more than being Holmes.
Minty! Do The Chase with Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson! Grew up watching this over and over again on HBO as a kid! And I always wanted to get that red BMW!
Remember how superhero films were made with a good deal of accuracy to the source material? That's what is lacking in films in recent years, due to pandering towards SJW and rainbow agendas.
Two-face + The Joker both in this movie always felt a bit forced to me. Maybe because I also didn't like this actor in this role as Harvey / Two-face. Wasn't really convincing for me.
When they say 43rd highest movie? How do they compare it with the movies from the 50s and 60s? Do they account for inflation and hold a dollar is worth more or less due to the time? Because $100 down is not worth $100 back in the 1950s or 60s, so do they account for all this?
And.........here..................we.............................go..................................! Put a smile on that face ;), etc. The joker has the best lines.
For years I believed that The Dark Knight was a better film than Batman Begins because of how well Heath played joker. Now its more clear that as a Batman film, Begins is a far superior film on the whole. Love all 3 of them though..
Personally, Except for how kinda horrible Leto's was cause he seemed like he was trying too hard, I dont think anyone should rate any Joker over any other because they all took a completely different take on the character and add in the gaps in time, make it impossible to day one is better than the other. Out of the 4 live action Jokers 3 were amazing, just different and all 3 were simply amazing. The end! BTW, ever fance with the devil in the pale moon lighy?
