@@arcturionblade1077 Medieval tax-collectors would work for portion of the taxes collected. For example Here in Finland (then the eastern provinces of the King of the Swedes) for example they would collect grain taxes using this square measuring vessel called 'kappa'. The farmer would pay in heaped kappas and the tax-collector would literally skim the top as his cut and deliver leveled off kappas of grain to the castle.
I"d like to share my theory on the CMF Basil the bat lord that his battle axe might be what someone interpreted his staff to actually be so what we might have thought he had a magic staff actually could have been a magic battle axe that resembled a bat where the blades would be, also just going to say have low expectations on the witch they did Majesto dirty in his GWP set.
Im happy that goats are cheaper now. I have the old ones since i own the set but im not planning on selling them and gatekeeping a major animal would feel just wrong
With all the references to Basil being an imminent threat in recent set's, it feel's almost like there building up for a massive Fright-Knights return, maybe given the fact that before Basil's redesign the last we saw of the Fright-Knights was a ghostly warrior make's me feel that they might have become some sort of Vladik-esq evil faction after centuries of being dead, and that other kingdoms throughout Castle history will have to unite against!
There were no female knights in this set 😂. And you’re talking about historical accuracy when undead, vampires, ghosts, dragons, magic all exist. Lego castle is pure fantasy Goldfyre himself has embraced the fantasy aspect as have many others
I'm a bit afraid that Lego maybe overexerting themselves if they give us too many factions too fast and it may have negative consequences (people losing interest in collecting them since there's too many similar looking factions around). I think there's no need for another Lion faction (Royal Knights) geting brought back.
The onething i dont like about the set is when u close the buildings together the inner rooms have no coherence. The tapastry room and the tavern combine together causeing an odd combination. Every other set that does this technique the rooms have coherence but this one. Which is a shame for me because all my sets are always closed in..
I think the trick is to pick a brick the parts to make them seperate or to buy a second copy. Or in case you own enough parts in your collection, to moc it into seperate houses in combination with some extra space.
I think your right my dude, was thinking the same thing. Don't get me wrong I'm excited for the set but yeah like I stated before most sets who use this folding technique usually have the rooms floor plans match
Technically, it's Lego Icons (intended for target audience aged 18+). Lego seems reluctant to give us an official Castle or Kingdoms themed full-fledged line nowadays, and instead releasing one or two medieval themed sets in Icons, Creator 3-in-1, and Ideas (there will be an upcoming Dungeons & Dragons themed set that should be revealed soon for an April or May release). There was also the Mountain Fortress (Black Falcons castle) that was available on Bricklink's Designer Program (fan designed but officially backed and produced by Lego but in much smaller quantities) but all 30K preorders are sold out now.
When I say Castle I mean the theme not an actual castle per say. The set is being sold under the icons range. I guess it can be pretty confusing if you aren't a castle freak lol
first thing it makes a lot of sense that the tax collector suit is puple since in the dark times that kind of colour is hard and expencive to produce but i dont know what to do if i buy some wolf knights do i use as robbers dark knight or something else can you guys give ma ideas
What do you think the image represents in the Tax Collectors book? It’s not the same King from the other picture due to the red barding and the reddish brown horse… What do people think?
Nice catches. We hope they remake the dragon mold. Very bad idea with the stickers. I wonder if the set wouldn't have been better of $ 10 more with prints (except the tapestry).
@@Goldfyre The animals wouldn't be too much of an issue if we had more or smaller sets with them (like the otter set, the Seal set, and so on) I for one have some 20 otters, and 10 of each seal. However getting sheep was a hassle, for pigs as well. Cows I think I have 10, but would need more for sure. The prints for the things we could reuse in other builds is unforgivable though :(
Regarding all the characters referenced in the Lion Knights Castle having the reappeared except Willa - wasn’t there also a reference to the Black Knights which has yet to come true (it was something about the Black Monarch being driven mad due to his desire for “amber”)
Looks like such a great set! I think either pearl dark grey (matches his crossbow) or dark brown legs might look better on the Wolfpack figure than the dark blueish gray legs. I plan to try out different options. I also like a new color for the goat, although I would rather it be in tan or dark tan. But with the mold returning, I bet we see this goat in many different colors!
I would love sets for ATLA. It's one of my favorite childhood shows and i actually had the original air temple lego set as a kid. I don't care for live action adaptations but if the sets work for both the animated show and the new one then it would be cool.
I think the royal knights reference may be to indicate that the current lion knights are decedents of the royal knights. Maybe not the main line, but a branch of the same house.
Thanks for the shout out I didn't know of the felsa name until it was mentioned during the livestream, all it took was a google search to find out what it meant. I realized it made sense with the cheese makers in the set. Also I found your channel because of the livestream, your channel is awesome Maybe the inn being called the broken axes inn, is a reference to the carpenter, maybe her axes broke I didn't see the beard as a nest, its a genius technique The goat joke is amazing
There's also a hidden easter egg in the book that the Tax Collector has! The book has a picture of what looks to be a black knight, funnily enough. It's also fun that the tax collector has bright purple clothes. Bright purple dye was *exceedingly* expensive in the medieval era (Royal Purple and other types of vibrant purples to be exact, less saturated or "dirtier" purples weren't that expensive nor uncommon), which is a fun little detail about how filthy rich the guy must've gotten from all that stashing away of taxes he does.
Have you ever thought of incorporating other people's moc in your LORE videos? Like for example Ravens Wharf a small Outpost for the Ravens to plan revenge against the black Falcons
Ah!, here’s the thing. If he was in the set and CMF it would take away another new print from the village, having in the CMF not only gives you another goat to make a herd but a 6th unique peasant. It’s actually genius to have him in the CMF
@pajvader I only got two of the barbarian whimen and only will get the goat guy to add for my peasants and the vampire knight witch shuld confirmed as Basil the bat lord
@@mikepalmer392 there is still time to collect the ones you desire. I used some kind of qr app. The trick is to contact the toy store to inform you when the product will be new in box. Good luck collecting
I think these 6 minutes are the most insightful thing I've ever seen about a Lego Castle set. And you don't even have it with you. Does anyone else think it's bad that there is no exclusive leg part for the Wolfpack Fig?
@@Goldfyre That's right. I think we should be thankful for a wolf pack print at all. But while we're on the subject of the upper body. I noticed that the torsos of the Ash Attackers from Nexo Knights match the Red Dragons very well. With these and a pair of helmets from Pick a Brick alone, I doubled my army. I would love to see your custom Red Dragons.
Well, i love the easter egg with the poster of the goat hahaha. I will make it a falcon village! Surrounded by rivers and the great dark tower of the black falcons will oversee the riverlands.
Have you ever lied, stolen, blasphemed, looked with lust, swore? Of course you have, everyone of us have fallen short of the glory of God. We are all destined for Hell when we die Jesus came to save us from Hell, took the punishment for sin on Himself so that we can go to Heaven with Him. [9] because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9-10 E
@@Goldfyre i just wish for normal lego set WAVE of castle not made to buy ugly realistic sets. but to use imagination and buy cheaper sets to build a world with more options ,you know what i mean ?
