Trust me it's not that great. You have to do a lot of research b4 u come. A lot immigrants ended up regretted coming here: job opt are pretty bad for most immigrants. Some get lucky. But vacation here is totally fine
@Abby The awesome I guess what I mean if you had high position back home don't expect the same job - that's the complaints I hear and honestly i feel bad for them. Though of course there are exceptions. Like u said networking ie the company u work at has a branch here in Canada. it also really depends where u plan to live too.
I visited Toronto & met the nicest couple at a bar who bought my husband & I poutine because we never had it before. We felt very welcome on our trip to Canada!

@Brad Childress Well, I can't say I don't like a good rom com from time to time. But I think most people like those types of movies. No matter how much they won't admit it. And don't get the feeling that I can't take a joke good Sir. I just think that as a comedian, there's a line that I feel like shouldn't be crossed. Otherwise it's no longer funny. It's just plain uncomfortable
Indigenous people are treated harshly everywhere 😒 like what the hell did we do to you guys, why bcuz we were here first (this in no way ruins my thoughts of Canada)
@Brad Childress suure they don't suffer from _any_ internalized and external and systemic racism, their ancestors weren't pillaged, r*ped, and murdered by settlers. their land wasn't stolen from them despite the fact that they had been there centuries prior. y'all act like they have it made because they have welfare when welfare ain't shit when you live in a world where you are judged by white people for existing.. This is why racism survives, kids aren't born racist,, they're taught. Until white people like us can at least try to understand and check our bias and privilege, nothing's gonna change so stfu you don't know what you're talking about lmao
@Brad Childress that's nice and all, I'm just saying that people gotta check their privilege and make sure you aren't discounting others struggles also wtf does Israel have to do with North American indigenous people
@Brad Childress lmao I'm not living in guilt and bondage, I'm trying to understand what others have been through and to help stand with them in solidarity. also you say that like I have control over how other Americans act?? Like, I hate it here too,, sorry that I'm doing my best to recognize the white privilege I have and trying to not procreate racism. Guess just because I'm an American citizen suddenly I need to be a right wing extremist wearing a MAGA hat and flailing around the Confederate flag
I have been in Canada and it has been my best part of my life. People are friendly, I feel at home. The landscape is amazing, and I love the lobster. Canada 🍁 forever 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️❤️
Speaking of which, Anglo countries such as USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are more of the same. Kill the indigenous natives and whoever is left marginalize them and create artificial poverty, once that poverty becomes crime & drinking, the media points to the poor and blames them to continue to stigmatize the 'other' community, scumbags, etc. Google 'Continents of America is Not a New World/China Daily' for plain truth. blog.chinadaily.com.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=820652
@@newyorkerjoe123 China Daily. lmao. I wonder if that article mentions the long and storied history of Chinese oppression of ethnic and religious minorities that continues to this day. Or the thousands that have been disappearing of late into government-run detention camps. I have no doubt that if China had colonized the New World instead of Europe, the Native people would be even worse off than they already are, and that's saying something.
@@paulthomas9911Speaking of which, amazing fact that Indigenous Native American people had built such great civilizations as Mayan, Inca and Aztec without outside help, and all from the scratch, and all on their own, since they had been cut off from the rest of the world for ten of thousand of years. In other words, they actually are great and proud people. All they need is their beloved father lands back, the lands that their ancestors had lived through thick and thin, endured through hardships and all. Moreover, the hidden mega genocide of indigenous native American population in continents of America 500 yrs ago was around 15 millions, while European population in Europe was around 20 millions. Today, Native population at 15 million, while European population ( in continents of America + Europe) at a staggering 'ONE BILLION'! For instance, 200 years ago here in U.S.A, around 3 million Germans came, and now there are 65 millions German-Americans; while 150 years ago, 2 millions Irish came, and now there are 45 million Irish-Americans. While 500 years ago there were estimated 5 to 6 millions Native people in USA, before Christopher Columbus, today there are about 2 million indigenous Native Americans survived. What would it be like today if native Americans have possessed some sort of nuclear weapons to defend themselves? The answer is they would still have their own beloved fatherlands, plus their population comparable to that of European population. I've no doubt about that. In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people. remember, notorious Slavery as well as Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is this another notorious Colonization still lingering on? debora protti, people are friendly? depends how you define friendly. passive aggressive? yes. jealous of the US, yes. Polite to people's faces? yes. Friendly? no.
Coyote We build airplanes - EMBRAER. We have the biggest beer company in the world - AMBEV. We have higher GDP than Canadá. Does that sound like a banana republic to you, buddy? The only thing that sucks and make other things suck in Brazil is corruption! So, get your little ugly face out of here and go back to your cold fucking country, asshole. Oh, I almost forgot, thanks for the gorgeous Canadian women we fuck. 😋
1. We have cold, 2. We have languages, 3. We have friendliness, 4. We have some racism (probably a lot less than the rest of the world, though), 5. We have lots of multi-culturalism, 6. We have plenty of food, no starving 7. We pay too much for certain things, 8. We have an outdoors, 9. We have public transit.... Canada sounds a lot like half of Europe.
Europe is not as cold as Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or any of the Territories. Living in the Czech Republic it hasn't dropped below -5 I could walk outside in a t shirt. The only places I could see Canada competing for who is actually colder would be Iceland, Greenland, Russia, Sweden, Finland and Norway
@@patrick.0.590 yes, well technically they have European ties as it belongs to Denmark that's why I stated it. The country is barely habited and where it is, is sometimes warmer than the colder parts of Canada. If you really want to get technical though the coldest parts of Russia are located in Siberia which really is a part of Asia. So then Canada is really only competing with Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland.
I'm from Ivory Coast and am also planning to Canada by 2020... Canada has always been my dream country since I was a little kid and I pray my dreams comes true😊😊
Reza Mrb Hey! Those will all depend a lot based on what part of the country you’re considering. Let me know and maybe I can put you in touch with someone local to your intended destination :)
I hope your dreams come true! Where I live in Canada there is a big group of people from Ivory Coast and I have many friends from there. All my friends are in French classes and they fit in well. 😊
i dont know about other cities, but in montreal where Im from, despite what other people may say... Public transport is the dream. We have a combination of train, metro, buses, bike sharing system and car sharing system that are all integrated to each other. Every time I go back to Montreal, I just get reminded of how quickly I can get from point A to Point B. And about the poutine and the maple syrup.. as far as I am concern most people really like these in Canada, Not only for drunk nights.
So true I live there and the majority of people use public transport, it’s much easier and more affordable. Glade to see another person that feels this way.
Manitoba and Saskatchewan public transportation is a nightmare. They only have buses and you're waiting 30 minutes for a bus and if you miss it you're waiting 30 minutes more. Just those two suck others I hear are great.
Great video. I feel that Canada is the safest place right now. I haven't encountered racism yet. What I learnt over 2 years of stay in Canada is Canada treats everybody equally, no matter what! I liked all ur points. Thanks for sharing.
I live in Winnipeg, and racism towards natives here are bad bad bad. I am not sure how it is for the rest of Canada, but its something that really needs to change.
God bless your soul for saying something about the Indigenous people! No other RU-vidr has, none that I've seen anyway. So thanks for that, I appreciate it. -I'm a First Nations person.-
Found this really interesting as Canada is somewhere we have considered moving, we have just had friends move over. Good to hear it's friendly and multicultural
Props for calling out the racism. It's so true. I find it's less noticeable in the bigger cities like Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, but I'm sorry to say I had a really bad time in Winnipeg.
I do agree I am from Alberta outside of Edmonton. I am partly First Nations. Haven't run across racism but I will step in if anyone dares tries being racist around me.
I worked many years on a native reservation. I met some great people. But, my rose tinted glasses fell off completely after a few years. Yeah, everything is the white man's fault. Only white people can be racist. You can criticize white people for all the past and present atrocities they've committed, but if you point out anything negative minorities do, oh, god help you. And 'white supremacists'- please, it's the progressive left that is destroying the country.
Joseph Stymest Even in u called muslims racists i apologize on the behalf of the individuals that caused u that type of experience .. and you re more than welcome here in Tangier, morocco anytime I personally invite you to see our real values..

But if people are saying it less cos of stereotypes I think that's sad. Better to embrace them and be a bit different, I think!
@@ubbdaubermensch1528 Yeah I suppose that could be the case, haha. I hope that people will continue our noble Canadian traditions of saying "eh/hey" and "sorry" all the time lol
So, I've moved to Canada last year and the public transport is way better than were I am from. I'm from the Netherlands and you really don't wanna go with public transport over there. If there is 1mm of snow on the rails, its literally panic for the transport service.

And no, we aren't full up...the second largest country in the world and a relatively small population.
ToughLoveIndigo I agree. It seems Trudeau's election had something to do with looking into the disappearances of all those First Nations women at long last. That's a step in the right direction. The history with that antagonism seems to go back to British vs French, with the French fur trappers marrying into the local population and thwarting the Hudson Bay Company which had the power of life and death in their territory, no matter what Ottawa said to the British Parliament about it. But I could be wrong. :)

A Soviet ambassador to Canada during the Cold War was asked what the most difficult issue he ever had to deal with was. His answer was explaining to Moscow why the same building (his embassy) required both a furnace and central air conditioning.
This is so damn naive of me but it's a bit heartbreaking to hear about Canada's racism. I guess I look at Canada as a kinder, friendlier version of the US.
You can expect more of it lately, too. Most of the widespread issues with racism were against Native people, for historic reasons mostly. But lately all the far-left racial politics that's made the US so poisonous has gained a good foothold in Canada. It's very sad, but many black and Indian friends of mine have started parroting it and I've lost friends who suddenly view me as racist cos I won't go along with that ideology. It's very sad indeed.
Tbh, we definitely are a kinder, friendlier version of the US. Yeah there is racism, but its way, way less of an issue than in the states. I'm a visible minority born and raised in Canada and have never experienced racism, though some people i know have (usually not overt tho). Canada is just generally more accepting and socialist than the states (i'd say even our conservatives are less right wing than many republicans- there's no one opposing universal healthcare or gun laws, for instance). The treatment of indigenous peoples, esp in Winnipeg, however, is something that needs to change- probably the only thing about canada i'm not proud of.
I friggin LOVE Canada and Canadians. As an unhappy american, I honestly dream of being a Canadian someday. Beautiful country, beautiful people. Go Canada!
8 lives hahahahahahha I wish all the canadian the best and specially people like you those who are keen on their civilisation and are aware of the imminent danger of these kind of people. ( some will say this is so fu king racist but the Muslims are immigrating from muslim country and they want to build mosques and whatever and the other side the Christianity are not allowed to pray properly or in public like Algeria if any one try to spread a religion different than Islam he will face jail for 5 years and pay a lot of financial penalties and we are welcoming them in our countries and we offer them what they have never earned in their muslim countries
Toronto has one of the best Public Transit's in the world lol. You can get anywhere in the city as a student for only $2. Children 12 and under are free! Yes there may be a lot of delays but often I can to places on time and I can't complain for the cheapest fare prices in North America.
Just be prepared to pay a lot more for everything. My neighbor is from Canada and he told me that sales tax are often around. 40% and you won't quantify for healthcare for the first 2 years you're living there.
This isn't true. Highest sales tax is 15% and once you're working and paying taxes you can apply for medicare. The immigration process can be pretty tedious and frustrating however.
i dont know where that started, that canadians are so nice. i dont find canadians nice at all. they are the ones talking behind our backs all the time. i dont find that cool.
I’m born and raised in Alberta Canada never left the country by left the province and if your planning on moving to Canada I recommend it so nice and beautiful
Hmmmm, I really have this idea that I need to move overseas so this has given me some really good ideas of things to look for when considering moving to a new country. That is SO AMAZING about finding someone from every country within the city of Toronto, I love it when a city has all cultures, peoples, religions that can live within the same living space and still get a long - and YEEESSSS to the food! Now I want to visit Toronto to just check it out!
Groceries are really expensive, gas/fuel is expensive, we say the F word a lot, we are heavily taxed for our goods/services, health care isn’t really “free”, housing is crazy expensive in cities, the cops don’t shoot you here unless the have to, we grow a lot of great produce and pot is legal 🇨🇦
Is gas expensive in Canada for real? In Italy 1 L is about 1,70 € (2.50 CAD). Hope it's lower than here! I think it's better being taxed when the services are good rather than being taxed the same but for really poor services! The health care isn't really free neither in my country. If you have to do a medical specialist visit, you have to attend lots months (I mean, loooot of months, 6-9-12-15 before the visit day. Instead of that, you can pay 100-200€ (150-290 CAD) to have the visit in a reasonable time (for private of course). I don't know if it's better or not, but I think it's worth it! A hug from Italy :D
In Canada some provinces do not have bags of milk. Our about sound like aboat. Throughout Canada also pronounce some words differently like Toronto. Being from Ontario I hear more Torono
Laserlite 3000 i’ve lived in america and canada and i definitely think canada is better than the states lol. in terms of safety, friendliness, quality of life, etc. i don’t think canada is a downgrade at all, unless you’re talking about the shopping and weather
Laserlite 3000 Canada consistently is ranked in the top 10 safest countries by the global peace index, the US doesn’t usually even make the top 50. Canada is far safer in my experience and in crime level stats including rape, violent crimes, murder, etc. not to mention guns. the reason the US has upwards of 200 percent more homicides than canada per capita is due to guns. take away homicides by guns in the US and homicide rates would be more marginal. the US also has about 4 cities in the top 50 most dangerous cities in the world. canada has none. also, did you just call indigenous people “feather indians” ? i sure fucking hope not.
Laserlite 3000 You sound extremely ignorant. Try referring to them as First Nations, Indigenous, Aboriginal, etc. Anything but “feather indians”. That terminology makes you sound like an intolerant racist from 1920. Gross.
I think people should take this with a grain of salt. Many of your points don't apply to the whole country - yeah much of it has harsh winters but Vancouver is generally very mild; the cities are multicultural but much of the country is still very homogenously WASPy. Ultimately it's hard to say much that will accurately predict someone's experience if they move to Toronto vs Halifax vs Vancouver vs ... Flin Flon or something. Which all kind of connects to a major point that you should have mentioned: Canada is very big. Most people I've known from other countries have been struck by this, and if they travel the country at all it can take some major adjusting. This is probably a big reason why cars have such a stranglehold in transportation. The good thing is that you get lots of variety in terrain/climate/etc and many beautiful landscapes of epic scale. And because the population is relatively small and clustered, much of it is relatively unspoiled. Anyway, I should stop droning on. Sorry, eh.
I am Canadian and I support this message. The public transit in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal- or other large cities- is pretty good. Every other place, not so much. You only forgot to mention: DO NOT LITTER! DO NOT MESS WITH THE LINE-UP
I know right same here some states in the u.s.a transportation sucks and they don't run good so how people suppose to get around not everybody have a car, got the money to buy car or get it to fix and some people are scared being behind the wheel smh.
On the note of racism, it's pretty much only the indigenous population that experiences that. Which is really unfortunate because they're technically the only people who aren't foreign to Canada.
True, technically even the Natives came from somewhere else if you go back far enough, and have their own history of displacing other groups of people. Besides, I hate being told I"m foreign to Canada when I was born and raised there. It's just insulting.
The TTC (Toronto's public transit) is actually pretty good. The further you get from big cities however, the less likely you are to find good transit but it isn't usually a problem for most Canadians.
Honestly, I've been living here for almost 8 months now (in Scarborough) and so far so good, haven't found any crazy person yet, and haven't had any problem with the law (only once I was walking near a railway and this cop popped outta nowhere yelling at me to leave hahaha); and the fact that I come from Brazil I find Public Transportation, Public Health and security here very satisfactory. I see a lot of people complaining about how expensive some things are here but again since I'm from Brazil things here are WAY cheaper than i expected (I got my first iPhone here yeyy), I was able to buy stuff that I wouldn't even think of buying back in my native country because of how overpriced they are back there... also I got my first job ever here (and I was already fired lol). Also, I personally love hiking and natural places overall and this is certainly one of the things we can find the most here, this is a such a beautiful country with a huge variety of culture and people which makes it even more special. and last but not least by being a Brazilian I drink A LOT of coffee, therefore, Tim Hortons is my favorite place so far haha (i love my double-double lol).

Rare. I live here and have never had to resort to that. I live in Southern Ontario. Montana, the Dakotas are much father north than I am. As far as the weather goes, there is not a line that goes across the US and Canada. If you live in the North of the US, same weather as the south Canada. Stop looking at a map. This is a year of extremes. What the northern US is going through, so is Canada. We, in southern Ontario just got through 35 below. So did you in Michagan and the Dakotas, and Maine? We have a map with boundaries. Weather does not. It does not care about boundaries, does not care about north or south. There is no difference between North or South. This close to the border? Southern Ontario is more south that Maine, the Dakotas, Washington State.
Hi great video! Also FYI- our cell phone plans in the US are over $100 with most ppl paying $200. You CAN get a cheap pre-paid plan for maybe $50 a month but I literally don't know anyone who has one of those plans. $80-100 sounds like a bargain to me!! Another bonus to moving to the Canada.
Let me tell you, he said 80 to 100, mine is 240 a month for as much as I could afford, US plan are wayyy better for the money believe me! I know tons of people with out plans over there, and for 50 US they get more everything then us. If you got an 80 dollar plan it would be limited in all things, cost of data is by GB; and never unlimited. N go over it’s cost is by MB, we are the most expensive country in the world for a darn cel, I’ll trade ya any day, I tried to by a prepaid over there in Georgia but can’t use it across the border darn
im with koodo, and im in barrie, ontario. I have no data but unlimited texting and free calls after 5pm. Yet my dad has all of that plus 3 GB data im pretty sure and his is something like $50
Discover of course he should have mentioned that Toronto and Montreal actually have really good subway systems and other cities like mine Ottawa are finally getting a good train system in place, of course we have always had a really good bus system here also, their is like 9000 buses in our system so public transit is not as bad as he put it, but he was mentioning the peg which is different.
Dude, where did you come from? I haven't met people like you in Canada. You're the first Canadian I know that likes travel and who accepts public transportation sucks in Vancouver. Thank you, bro
