10+ Time Getting Pulled Over In My HEAVILY MODIFIED FRS...

Damn all car dudes feel you man! It’s tough out here in Cali lol. I got caught going 126mph in my rs3 on my way to mammoth mountain. Only reason I was speeding I had to take a sh*t and I wasn’t trying to pop a squat on the side of the highway haha. Had to take the L $700 ticket with traffic school.

Here in Hawaii a loud exhaust probably would be the last reason a cop would pull you over, my cousin had a pop and bang tune on his sti and it would just keep popping it would be loud especially at night after a car meet/cruise.

I am currently living in Texas, North of Dallas area, and my Genesis Coupe 3.8 is still stock with no exhaust, so I don't have to deal with any of the exhaust regulations. However, I do get pulled over for all sorts of other rubbish. But let me tell you something that happened a few months ago that was almost worse than getting a ticket. I am a dark skin male. I was driving down one of the streets I usually drive one night. I was going approximately 45 in the 40 mph zone, which is legal. I looked to my left and saw a cop truck parked in a mini shopping mall type of area as I drove by, and he was watching people. I was listening to Crossroads by Bone Thugs N Harmony with my windows down. I looked in my rear view mirror because I knew he was going to try something. So I slowed down even more doing 40 or 35, and there was a car in front of me. Of course the cop pulls out and started following me. At the next light, almost close to another mile, it was red. I attempted to switch in the left lane to trick him and turn left, but he did the strangest thing and stopped more than 5 car lengths behind me, just waiting or scanning my license plate. I was looking in the read view mirror. Now, to the left where I was going to turn is a busy shopping area with lots of rich people. When the light turned green, I decided to go forward and see what this cop behind me was going to do. Of course he goes straight now. The next thing I did was an immediate U-turn left at the next open left turn location, and I turned right onto that busy street I mentioned with the shopping places. Of course the cop did the same U-turn and followed me. I made a last second decision that saved me, because if I continued straight, there is nothing but a turn and houses. He could have stopped me and no one would have been around to watch him. When I turned onto the busy street, he stopped following me. He never turned on his lights or anything because I did nothing wrong to begin with.

My first modified exhaust ticket I just paid the fine. The second one was for going 40 over the limit which was bs. Also window tint and no front license plate. I should've kept going but I already had 5 stars!

I drive like a grandma for this exact reason lol 😬 I don't got enough money for both my car and those fines. The only time I've been pulled over was in high school for running a few stop signs on a bike. Had to choose between $144 ticket or a five page essay on why running stop signs and red lights are bad🤷🏻‍♂️

3 years since getting my license and have yet to even be pulled over... have had miata for a year and my 5.0 for a few months now... Both being pretty loud and driving spiritually, though I do have the advantage of living in Florida lol

I've been pulled over for speeding twice and once for driving with no license plates (I had just bought the car like 3 days before). Never for a loud exhaust though, which is surprising.

I have driven modified with 5% all around and 20% with all my cars for many years and never been pulled over. ( In Korea most cars have very dark tint) Also a few times I receive a phone call or a letter from the police station or from the S.Korean Transportation Department to confirm my widebody with documents of structural changes.

Also yeah I agree you should film the little projects if you wanted to and if you don’t have anything to really film because I know I like watching how things are done and plus it’s just like a chill lil hangout too

Know the pain too well of being pulled over Chris. Got pulled over back in January. Funny thing is that it was right in front of my own house but i couldnt pull into my driveway without not angling and straight up destroying my front bumper. Coulda gotten state reffed for loud exhaust but luckily it was just tint.

I only was pulled over once, I got supercharged FRS and they say about modified exhaust and a suspicion of modified engine, so i opened up the hood and theres my supercharger with C.A.R.B sticker on top, then on the exhaust, I luckily got toyota badge welded to it and i showed them the toyota badge. they and they are talking about the tune, i alway have the ecutek on the glove box so i have it with jackson racing information as tuner, so they called the sergeant and about 6 vehicle was surrounding me and or more but they cant do nothing.

What’s the difference between a non correctable exhaust ticket and a state reff. I know what a state reff is but what’s the non correctable exhaust ticket

Iv had the ST for about a year and iv never been pulled over. I live in a smaller area so I actually know most of the officers around here since they stop by the meets and stuff. Kind of lucky but I'm sure its gonna happen sooner or later my new blow off value is gonna attracted some attention lmao.

My Sti with a nameless doesn’t get bothered by the police. Db comes in at 91, window tint is legal limit on front windows, ride height is stock, Front plate relocate, and I stay within 10mph over the speed limit 0 issues with the cops on CA.

I've only had my fr-s for 6 months, so no cop problems yet. But I did put a new muffler on it yesterday, so we'll see how that goes Also, just curious. Has a cop ever bothered you about windshield tint? I wanna tint the windows on my car but CA laws

Just FYI for anyone that lives in Cali, vehicle code 27151 section B states that an exhaust may not exceed 95db. Fight it in court and ask for the officer's decibel reading of your car on the day the ticket was issued; you have video evidence that he didn't take a DB reading.

Gus from “Automotive Anatomy” in SoCal was given a ticket for car being too low because his car was basically “stock”. I got pulled over the same week I had gotten my front windshield tint installed. He was a cool cop just gave me a warning and said if he catches me again with it still hell make me take it off in front of him (I knew he was just trying to intermediate me to remove it though)

I don't believe tint is a fix it ticket anymore. The last time I got a tint / front plate ticket. The tint wasn't correctable but I could be wrong maybe it's changed again.
