Demarcus Cole the only thing that matters is the 12 in behind the camera. I’ve seen some killer stuff shot on a iPhone.

Thanks Fil! Great info. Question regarding a zoom lense at 4.5-6 aperture in a church setting. Thoughts? Any huge difference if I go from 4 to 6.5?

KBezie yes it’s a huge difference. Most churches are going darker and darker, and you’ll need to compensate for that. Weather it’s raising your ISO, slowing your shutter speed, or opening up the lens more. Ideally you want something closer to f2.8 or wider. That way you can speed up your shutter to reduce motion blur, or lower your ISO for a cleaner image.

Really helpful bro.. I find myself going all over the place with my settings. Backstage ,sanctuary, outside etc. But my little Gideon aka rebel 6 has taken some great pics. I just need to find my consistency so I don’t have to over shoot. 3 to 400 pics every Sunday. No bueno.. Oh yeah got to figure out those Lr presets. How do you preset for something with so many environments In one place?

It’s not so much as just dropping a preset and calling it good, a preset just gives you a good starting point. So I would create a preset for your sanctuary, one for back stage, one for our side, etc. that way it’ll cut down on your edit time.

THX For the info, but my church is a school event, so i can't order them around and they are my seniors soo.. Do any of you guys have a solution for this? I got a telephoto lens, a kit lens and a speed lite.

Dodo The Bird 21 I would say no to the speed light. I don’t allow any photographers to sue speed lights during the service because it’s a huge distraction.

It’s not. You want to be as little of a distraction as possible. Just crank the iso if you need to.

I’ve seen church photographers use it in a service and it’s sooooo distracting. Crank the iso, stop down, and use the lighting that’s available.

hi bro, unsure if you’re still replying to this video. i have a funeral tomorrow that i’ve asked to shoot for, i’ve got a canon 4000D with a 50mm camera, i’m still new to the whole photography thing so was wondering if you could give me the camera settings you’d use if you was me
