Hi, guys! I just want to say "Thank you!". Not only for this particular video, but for the whole content of yours, that you've dedicated all this time to present. You are absolutely amazing for the creators out there like me, who are far away from being absolute professionals. You've helped me a lot and actually saved me plenty of unnecessary expenses that I was going to have, if I've never trusted your judgement first. So, again, I've just wanted to say "Thank you!" to all of your team for the endless knowledge you gave us and you keep on giving! You're an absolute guideline and a truthful beacon for the creators globally, doesn't matter the part of the planet they are coming from!

You forgot to mention to use your damn waveform monitor, histogram, light meter or better yet a combination of all 3. The 1st two are usually built into the cameras menu. Also doing a black balance (depending on camera’s functionality) make a world of a difference. Also invest in a color checker card for accurate color, whites and blacks. And last tip. Do camera tests Before production to find out your camera’s limitations in low light and just stay within those parameters, adding light when necessary. Damn, I feel like a FullTime Filmmaker instructor, giving all this knowledge for free 😝

For the in camera noise reduction, do you kind of consider this an all or nothing situation and either don't use it at all, then have it on high for low light? Does having this on all the time effect low iso video? Will you set it to low or medium for middle range iso like 800-1600? This is a setting I think I turned off when I first got my 80d but will definitely be doing some of my own tests to see what works best for me now too! One other thing I do is will leave a frame rate at 60 but then also drop the shutter speed down to 60, I know this breaks the 180 rule but for little motion footage the extra blur isn't always noticeable, also if I decide only to slow this to 80% on a 24fps timeline then it visually appears like 30fps 60shutter anyway, giving a little more flexibility to decide at point of edit. Thanks FTF team, massive fan here.

@klatchabobby

If you ever actually entered the film industry, you'd be slapped across the face by every filmmaker in history for even entertaining the notion that shooting in anything other than the flattest image possible is a good thing. You're doing nothing but hurting yourself like that. You're giving yourself even less flexibility in post so that the look of your footage can be decided for you, which is often much worse than what you can achieve by yourself? Stick to shooting home videos because filmmaking by worsening the capabilities of cameras like the Pocket 6K is a waste of money

one quick question: is there any particular reason why the video is at 1080 and not 4k? having good-expensive equipment I would go 4k all the time...or maybe not?
@fussanchez2716
@fussanchez2716 3 года назад
The benefit to having 4K is mainly flexibility in post. Being able to punch in on subjects digitally without any perceived loss of quality is great. Additionally, shooting 4K DOES MAKE your 1080p export sharper. Unless your project absolutely NEEDS 4K, like major film release, high quality demo reel, or old film restoration, for most people's needs, shooting in 4K and exporting in 1080p is a good workflow.
@stevenuseda6317
@stevenuseda6317 3 года назад
Fus Sanchez that's true but on RU-vid posting in 4K will look better as you get a higher bitrate
@johansermartinez9287
@johansermartinez9287 3 года назад
Yeah a lot of things especially for TV and Cinema are shot at a higher resolution and exported in 1080. I was part of Shark Week commercial shoot and they shot it on a RED at 5K and exported for TV at 1080. But obviously something that was shot in 5K exported at 1080 will look better than something that was shot in 1080 exported at 1080.
