As someone who hasn't even downloaded the game yet, this all feels like so much information to process. Feels more like a beginner/intermediate guide than it does a "things I wish I knew BEFORE" video

Don't upgrade your characters untill ur main is lvl 40 is an awful choice. Because you will get tired of the character and drop the game, plus you won't be able to defeat some enemies. And also, the early game is the most fun, so you don't have to lock yourself because someone just told you to do so!

another piece of advice: pull for who you want to, dont strictly pull for meta, bc after all this is your game and you probably downloaded the game to enjoy it so DONT PULL FOR "THE BEST" CHARACTERS (yes some will make ur game easier, but u dont wanna end up with a character whose playstyle u hate trust me)

When you said "and that's my first video" at the end i was so surprised. You seemed so confident it almost sounded like you're a professional RU-vidr with more than 400k subs. Damn

Oof.. This is probably not a beginner-guide I would recommend to someone who is starting to play Genshin. A couple of things that are outright "wrong" or not recommended, like "Install Genshin on your phone". Sure, if you have the option to do so and actually play on your phone on a regular basis, why not. It's definitely not a must. Not even really recommended because that game takes a lot of space away and if you got a PC you can do your dailies quickly within 10 minutes (which does require fighting, too, despite what OP said). So, if you can't install Genshin on your phone, don't worry about it, it's not even close to a recommendation or requirement at all. Unless you got so much going on in your life that you barely touch your desktop PC; in which case Genshin might not be the best game to pick anyways. Secondly, 5*-characters. Simple rule. If you like them, for whatever reason, get them. I know, there are dozens of content-creators out there that let you know that unit XYZ is not worth it for various reasons, but it ultimately doesn't matter. It really doesn't. You can beat the game with the units you get at the very beginning, and you can easily nourish any other unit into a carry one way or another. Don't pull a character because someone claims it's "OP"; it's pointless if you don't like the characters design or how they play. The opposite is also true. There is not a single unit in Genshin where a 2nd "support"-unit is required to make your favorite 5* character work. That's outright a lie. Wanderer can get through content just fine, Faruzan doesn't make him "viable", she only does what she is supposed to do; powering up other units. You play this game to have fun and while min/maxing might be fun to some it's definitely far from being necessary. so just go for any unit you think is interesting. You only have to be reasonable with your choices; if you decide to go for a character you should be aware that maybe you won't be able to pull for the next new incoming banner because you might have to save up Primogems again. Though, that goes without saying.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I rushed my adventure rank all the way to 50+ in 1 month and had no regrets, yes fights are a bit harder but the rewards are phenomenally better. Use noelle if you need a shield, she's free, and always remember... quick dash gives you invincibility for a split second, use it like a dodge mechanism

I'm AR55 and really, really agree with all that he said here. Also, the teapot and the statues and the trees that you level up in each region will award you with primos, weapons billets, and other great materials. Do reputation quests every week. Only 10 minutes or so, and they are done, awarding 20,000 Mora and reputation experience. In Monstadt, you can get the NRE crafted. Let me tell you, it is game changing. You can store revival and HP food in it. Those sweet flowers suddenly become useful because they make Sweet Madame food. In that pouch, you can instantly revive or heal, even in the middle of a boss fight. That equals survival and collection of rewards.

Yea the game kinda melted my brain with all the different stats, currencies, events, etc right off the bat. Glad I accidentally did everything right lol

I also watched a "things I wish I know before I start genshin" guide when I started and tbh I dont remember much anyways when I actually played lol few things that I remember was to not use you're fragile resin during early AR (this became a habit and now I got 150 fragile resin as an f2p at ar 58 lol)and not level up all your characters all at once bc there are resources that are kinda hard to come by or something like that.

I learned a very helpful tip from your video that you didn't even intentionally cover. I had NO idea you could name PINS! How am I just now learning about this!? Well to be fair, I learned about a lot of things super late in my playthrough and I'm still learning. This includes things like how useful elemental sight is, the online Teyvat map for marking down completed objectives, and crafting condensed resin. I learned the hard way not to level all your characters. It's less about the exp books and more about the loss of Mora. Now that I'm AR 56 and my characters are all max level, I'm running into the issue of not enough Mora to crown my mains. It costs almost a million mora to crown just one ability.

Early game elemental reactions are your best friend. Pick a dps and then a second character for elemental reactions as that’s where a good amount of damage can come from. Barbara Lisa combo carried me when I first started playing.

Speaking of making critical mistakes that totally damage your account in the long run I have done this on ps4 and thanks to your video I now know exactly what not to do I've made a new account on mobile and now I'm ready to have some real fun! One important thing you forgot to mention regarding upgrading your characters is: upgrade everything. Character level, character talents, weapon level, equip artifacts, and upgrade those artifacts. Everything is needed. So many people forget something of these exists and then leave talents at 1 or so. Regarding oculi, not only they pop up in your map when you run around, but the resonance stone has quite some range and does not get consumed if no oculus is located. I never recorded my oculi on a map and I used total of 1 resonance stone for whole Sumeru and 1 resonance stone in Fontaine. They're not that expensive, especially if you follow your "pick up everything" rule. In my opinion it is way less effort to use them than to record every single of your oculi in the map.

Don't use Wanderer as an example of a character that is useless without a certain support character. While that's true to a certain degree, Wanderer provide a lot of value for new players through his exploration prowess and great damage. He can also help them enjoy the game before they fall into the meta grinding rabbit hole.

For everyone saying that you need a gaming phone to play genshin impact is wrong well it does take 30gb of storage but it works just fine and the only time it lags is in the loading screen and my phone can't even handle fortnight and my phone is fine after handling 30gb

I got xinqui and beidou they both carried my team also My c1 bennet helps me alot And i lost 50/50 on zongli banner for qiqi so i am using her as healer I swear this xinqui, beidou and Bennett Literally carried my team from ar 14 to ar 42

Getting back into the game after a few years and pretty much forgot everything, I also went in blind so I probably didn’t have the most efficient start then. So this was very helpful, thank you.

playing genshin impact is like having a real time job

I'd get it on my phone but "Game is not available on your device" 9:37 some blackcliff weapons are nice, and also, buying intertwined fates is good after you got all the characters maxed out. 16:28 loach pearls do not have a single use in the entire game. 18:00 there is exactly 1 more of every oculi than you need. And you can craft oculi resonance stones, which will show you the location of an oculi that you are missing, and they are pretty cheap.

You can also craft oculi finders and use the interactive map on ce the oculi finder highlights the area it's in! Sumeru reputation also gives you a very helpful wood collecting gadget.

As a wanderer main... MY WANDERER IS NOT USELESS WITHOUT FARUZAN!! and Also as a high ar player... Most of these "tips" are not useful. It is your own choice if you actually do the thing this person said or don't do it. And most important... PULL FOR THE CHARACTERS YOU WANT NOT THE ONE'S THAT ARE SAID TO BE GOOD! PULL WHO YOU WANT!!

I disagree with the Wanderer take, he functions just fine without C6 Farazan and the reason I know is because I fully tested him myself with other team comps, and the only reason you need C6 Farazan is if you want to do min max his damage which isnt that much of a dps loss without her (only about 3 percent) and you can still 36 star the abyss with Wanderer being at C0 no problem because I've done it already. Just thought I'd put that tip in there

really good video, i just have to disagree with one thing: the focus on ONE single character. depending on the character you might face problems against certain enemys. as a day1 player and former razor main, razor was a great main bc he could deal with almost anything, yet i invested in him mainly and in 2 additional characters as supports. no need to invest too hard in those, but having 1 or 2 additional characters with a bit investment is way too helpful, even if its just slapping the 3* ER sword on them and using their burst for reactions or utility (kaeyas burst for superconducting for razor, venti for cc, jean/barbara for healing etc). focusing too hard on one character might get you in a spot where you can deal with the enemies, for example maining ningguang and then you need to farm geo hypostasis which is immune to geo dmg yet you only invested in a character that can only deal geo dmg. you will need at least one other character who can deal with the overworld bosses for materials and on another note: you cant ruin your account if you arent completely stupid. you pulled a 5* weapon on standard and used it for weapon xp to enhance dull blade? well thats an idiot move..but besides those (hopefully) obvious stuff like not feeding a 5* weapon, you cannot ruin your account by not perfectly managing your ressources.

I can't completely agree about paimon shop. Blackcliff weapon can also be a great option to buy if you need some damage weapon. I'm still using the longsword I bought like 2.5 years ago
