When my mom was pregnant with me I was breached and her doctor said don’t worry I will try my best to manually put her head down and he did, my mom said it took her breath away but she ended up having a vaginal birth bcus of him. I’m pregnant now and that same doctor that delivered me when my mom was pregnant will now deliver my baby 24 years later 🙏🏼🤰🏻

Move around-change position frequently 5. Induce at 41 weeks 6. Intermittent monitoring instead of continuous monitoring 7. Ask for more time-wait 8. Give some pushback if you are not 6cm dilated 9. I been,watching your video's since I was pregnant. I give birth to my baby boy 2 weeks ago. And I had VBAC after 11 years. I was schedule for c section. My dr support vbac but I feel like she didn't support at all. So when I went to labor I was,dilate 5cm. One of the nurse told me listen they just wana do c section so tell them no because you can have natural birth. Don't let them. And I didn't let them. I dilated 10cm and give birth to my boy weight 7lbs 80z length 21inches. I'm so happy I choose natural birth then c section. And I want to thank you becuase you had teach me so much more then my own dr..

RA A I had a C section 3 months ago and I wish that this video existed before I had a C section. My doctors and nurses literally forced me to have a C section. I was telling them that I don’t want to have a C section and that I want to go home and deal with my pain at home so they refused to let me out of the hospital. I felt the pressure and I asked them why do I need a C section and they couldn’t give me any clear explanation other than that my daughter was a having a heart problems and her weight was dropping below the average babies which was a big lie because she came out perfectly healthy baby girl I will never forget the experience plus I got the flu while I was at the hospital I had my flu shot at my 36 week appointment.

Thanks for this I hope I can have a normal Delivery too. My 1st baby I had C-section my weight almost doubled. Had 3 miscarriages after and now pregnant with my 5th and I'm on 21 weeks. I hope I could have a normal delivery this time.
@ashleyashleym2969
@ashleyashleym2969 5 лет назад
@@qaaliquruxmedia heart problems or drop in heart rate I think is actually a legitimate reason for a C section if the vaginal birth isn't progressing quickly as that indicates stress on the baby and possible complications if you are to wait to deliver vaginally. I'm against C sections, but they have their time and place. And you can walk out of the hospital really, you cannot be held at the hospital against your will unless youre deemed mentally incapable of making that sort of decision or you pose a threat to yourself or others or of course you're a minor. I wouldn't recommend walking out of the hospital though, I would trust the doctors opinion so long as they can explain themselves.

You just never know how your body will progress with labor! With both of my labors (2015, 2019), my water broke very early on so I was in the hospital for hours, but labor was pretty slow and manageable up until the last couple hours. I was barely dilated with both (2-3cm?), but in the last 1-2 hours, I progressed to 10cm. Good luck expecting mamas!

I was a full term, uncomplicated first pregnancy, but my fluid was at a 2 so I was sent to be induced. Wasn’t progressing so they broke my water and I had a c section. The baby’s head and shoulder were stuck low and he was face up. In getting him out an artery was ruptured. Went back into surgery and had a blood transfusion and was transferred to a larger hospital. I am grateful that I’m here and even more grateful that he’s here. He was 6lbs 7 oz.

I think it’s fantastic that you are such an advocate for natural birth! But for anyone that is worried if they do end up with a c section they really aren’t all that bad! I had one due to my health reasons and it was fantastic I got up by myself that evening and was allowed to go home the next afternoon! Healed up really well and I only took paracetamol which is shocking as I have no pain threshold 😂 maybe I just got very lucky but now I wish I hadn’t wasted my energy being so scared. With her first she pushed for 3hrs and delivered her 9lb 3oz daughter vaginally without tearing or an episiotomy. Then with her second she also pushed for 3 hours and delivered a 9lb 2oz baby boy vaginally without tearing or an episiotomy. It may take a while to get a larger baby out but it can happen. I hate when I hear stories of women being pushed into unnecessary cesareans

I wish I’d found you when I was pregnant but this video was still so interesting to me. I did not have a c-section but a friend of mine recently did because her baby was “big” (9 lb 6 ozs) and her dr kind of scared her into it by telling her the baby had a 25% chance of getting stuck and they would have to push him back in and then do the c-section. My doctor, on the other hand, was ALL about avoiding a c-section and I was able to have a vaginal delivery with a 9 lb 3 oz baby. I am so glad, after watching this, that my doctor was actually my biggest advocate for avoiding a c-section and actually hadn’t even mentioned that my daughter was on the bigger side so I didn’t really have any worries at all about that while I was in labor.

I had a C-section with my last child, and my OBGYN told me that I'd HAD to have another one now that I'm pregnant again. She scared me by telling me that I was at risk for uterine rupture, and I couldn't sleep for days. I kept picturing my baby moving inside, and every time I thought I was about to bleed to death. I was terrified. I was so overwhelmed with fear, that I was seriously considering an abortion. Doctors need to stop forcing C-sections just to avoid overlapping patients. My last C-section was performed by a doctor who ran out of the delivery room BEFORE he stitched me up. He left an INTERN there to finish his job. People have trust issues with doctors for this very reason. Most, if not all of them seem to get into the field just for the paycheck. I haven't found a decent one yet.

Don't let fear into your mind, speak possitive things to yourself, lay your hands on your baby and declar what you want. The last thing a pregnant mummy needs to have is fear! Be possitive and let nothing take that from you
@albatraozgirl
@albatraozgirl 4 года назад
Uterine rupture is so extremely unlikely. Stick to your guns and go for a VBAC. These doctors don't look at the statistics. I've done so much research because I'm doing VBAC and don't have the support of my current prenatal care provider. They want to cover their own butt and not give you a trial of labor. It isn't whats best for you or baby. Don't let anyone tell you to do something you don't want to. Get a doula or find support online and change providers.

I’m kind of upset I didn’t have this information sooner.. I had my first baby in 2014 and didn’t dilate past 6 centimeters and was put in for a c section but I also wasn’t given a birthing ball or anything to help I was just lying in the hospital bed. Now I am 4 months pregnant with baby number 2 and praying for a successful v-back in June 2020 almost 6 years later and this will be very useful thank you so much!

This was so helpful. I saved it straight away. I am expecting in December. I was told I could have a vaginal birth following a myomectomy. I haven't really been given much direction and have been keeping active with walks and yoga. I have an antenatal class this weekend but this made it so clear in my mind.

I wish I had seen this video before I went into labor. I live in Egypt and they rushed me into a c section as a first time mom. I’m so broken over how everything went. I am however grateful for my baby and her health but recovery was so hard and I’m still depressed almost 3mos pp
@twobluebutterflies

Typical Egyptian doctors approach.. why did they rush you ? Is it because your pelvis is too small (as usually claimed) 🤣
@TheBlackHijabi91
@TheBlackHijabi91 3 года назад
@@twobluebutterflies i was actually not given a reason. Although there was nothing wrong with me or my baby she said, “ we have to do a c section to see why the baby isn’t coming down” my daughter was born with her head cone shaped as if she was born vaginally. That tells me that she was very much so in my pelvis and at my cervix but dr didn’t want to wait. 2 years later I’m still bitter.

Thanks for this video. Must mention that if you test positive for gerd bacteria and your water has broken, you have about 24 hours to deliver. If you are not dilating, you will end up with a uterine infection which causes risk to the baby. So, you don’t always have all the time in the world to wait for 6 cm cervical dilation. I say this from experience. I have had a c section and am doing my best to have a vbac in a few months. Overall - great video...thank you for taking the time to educate us.

Why are you getting induced in general?
@azzula729
@azzula729 5 лет назад
Why are you scared of a c section? It's actualy very simple and straightforward. I went for an induction after a perfect pregnancy and while I was sitting there (literally nothing had happend I was waiting for sombody to canulate me) I was on the monitor and had been for over an hour. Suddenly her heart rate droped, they broke my water (through a closed cirvix ouch! ) it was clear at first but near the end went brownish as she had been so distressed she pooed. But by that time i was already been rushed into surgery, she came out blue, limp, not breathing as the cord had been very tight around her neck. Haveing a c section saved her life and it was super easy and quick. Now I still agree that a vaginal birth is the goal, but if you need one then you need one and they arnt as Scarey as they sound. 😊
@ΕλένηΜπουκουβάλα-ι2χ
Why 200+ dislikes? She is 100% accurate. The reason I had a homebirth (which eventually I'd never regret) is that these things are not always happening in hospitals.

My first pregnancy I gained 50 lbs even while really active, but everything else I did pretty much even though I’m just now seeing this video. Thankfully had a doula because the doctors and nurses had no patience with me when my dilation was slow and they tried to induce me with pitocin before I was even at 4 cm. I ended up letting them break my water but they said they’d give me 12 hours to deliver or else I’d have a c-section, and now I’m seeing from your videos that it’s safe even 18-24 hours later. Thankfully I didn’t need a c-section, but that experience made me want to avoid hospitals and go with a midwife at a birth center. This pregnancy I’ve already gained more than recommended and I’m 37 years old and my obgyn started scaring me about a “big baby” but I have no gestational diabetes or high blood pressure. My midwife I switched to had no concerns about the baby’s size or my age.

Hey Sarah! Thank you so much for all you do! Your videos are wonderful and full of useful information! ❤️ Kind of on the topic of c-sections, I was wondering if you are familiar with the phrase “pit to distress” in obstetrics. I’m not sure how commonly used and/or practiced it really is, but I do know that it is something that some doctors do. I’ve read tons of accounts from people online who were victims of this and even healthcare professionals who have participated in it. A friend of mine has an Auntie who is a retired nurse and she says she saw this happen behind the scenes all the time. It’s truly horrifying, and although it very well may be rare, I can’t believe something like that is ever allowed to happen! With you being a L&D nurse, just wondering if you’ve ever witnessed this practice or have any insight into why it happens. Thanks!
@noraraeafm
@noraraeafm 5 лет назад
Obstetrics as a whole is like this. Every single intervention they use is dangerous and they know it. Scarcely will you find a hospital-based provider who practices evidence-based care or who truly want to avoid harm to mothers and babies.

What are the health risks or the cons to having a c section birth?? I have never seen a video on this topic and I love your research sources.
@kayleighm7856
@kayleighm7856 5 лет назад
Blood clots😥. I have a Blood clotting disorder so a c section would be high risk to form a clot and have it go to the lung (pulmonary embolism) which usually is fatal. Any surgery poses a risk for this but is ten fold for women like me that have Factor Five Leiden, they dont even routinely check women for this oddly but im glad i pushed for the testing. I take a daily blood thinner to prevent a clot during pregnancy. I stopped when in labor and start a few hrs on the Shots again after birth for 6 weeks postpartum.

Thank you!! I am a FTM 39 weeks and I am trying to have the most natural- intervention free birth at a hospital. It's very scary that our c section rate is so high in the US. :( I think it's key to inform ourselves. My mom had 3 c-sections pushed on her for no other reason than the doctor didn't think she could have a baby vaginally. In hindsight she thinks he just wanted to schedule her and get her out of the way. She said she wished she would have armed herself better. Thank you for this video!!

Yeah I try to “eat sensibly” and can eat quite healthy when I’m not pregnant but when I’m pregnant I get super nauseous if I get any signs of hunger. Also for a large part of my pregnancy only certain food would be kept down, and unfortunately it was stuff like white grains, cheese, fruit (which is good), and fatty fish. I was not keeping down even veggies until the end of second trimester. It was so weird. So I just eat whatever doesn’t make me throw up, basically. And gained 50 lbs my first pregnancy lol on track to gain like 35 this time
