The thing I HATE about the drifting in this game is how your car will just defy the laws of physics and just do some really jank uncontrollable movements when trying to connect turns
The most pointless addition to a nfs game ever. Bring back Drag Racing at least that was adrenaline pumped with an actual purpose to Street Racing. Drift is such a shit fuckin' flash aspect that serves ZERO purpose.
Here's the best tip that NO ONE talks about. Change the Drift Style to "Brake" instead of "Gas" in the Live Tuning menu! The brake/handbrake will initiate the drift then you just gas it through the corners. Its much easier to change direction and control the car in my opinion because then you are able to use the brake/handbrake and gas triggers and buttons to control the drift instead of just the gas.
@@charliemartin8955 I don't know if you found it yet it does say 10 days ago but if you look at drift Style on the screen from this video it says gas the easy option of gas or break
The way I play all my racing games, I brake to force the front of the car down so that the rear loses grip. Brake to drift is the only way that NFS even comes close to the level of drifting I achieve on Forza. That being said, I don't see any toggle at all on my game. But that could be because my console isn't online. For reasons I won't get into, I can't play my console online. So I only have the base game from disc, no updates or anything. So idk if that's why, but for me, there is 100% no "Drift Style" toggle.
I know I'm in the minority, but i LOVE Payback and HATE Heat. I don't care about the story. For me it's about the gameplay - drifting is fun in Payback but a chore in Heat.
I’m already rep 50. Done all the story. Have millions. And I still can’t drift. I’ve found that the K.S. Corvette is an amazing drift car for myself to learn drifting in
You single handedly made my drifting experience 5 times better by giving this tip. I was having the hardest time trying to transition but switching to the brake actually worked
Did you know that when drifting, you can slam on the gas again to increase your drift angle, because it’s kind of like a sudden jerk of horsepower to the wheels, causing your car to follow through the road long enough to further increase your multiplier
This is how I get that whip effect.... it's easier than the counter-steer method touted in the video.... thats just too much for me. Next level....lololz....
My common problem is how to setup the car. They often tend to oversteer too much when you countersteer making you loose control and spin around. Using drag tires on RWD cars never crossed my mind so that is something I am gonna try to see if I can get better control over the car to get those higher scores.
I found that even for rwd cars a showcase differential instead of pro drift gives more sliding, control and satisfaction perfect for night drifting . i dont have access to live tuning so that may affect this
I was in the middle of replaying NFS Carbon when NFS Heat went on sale and my god the drifting is so underwhelming in Heat. The best I ever see anyone do is a snoozefest 60mph drift, plus all the scoring is based around track stretching which is terrible imo. The drifting in Carbon was insane, everyone should look up some videos of it.
sorry to break it to you but drifting in nfs carbon is noob friendly. the only 'hardwork' part you have to put into is when you're choosing a car to drift and that's just it. everything else is just throttling and swinging the stick. in heat, however, tells you how much you know about the car you want to use and it's always different every single time. plus, nfs carbon doesn't have public cars when drifting like nfs heat cus like i said, its noob friendly.
you're a lifesaver. I've completed everything but drifts ingame. But this video has literally made me enjoy drifts (and starting to master them) - thank youi
tip 6 depends if ur going for a high score cuz u can utilize the extra space but if ur going for that clean fun run its better to stick to the normal path given
Another tip from me : instead hand brakes,Use front brake for easier Transition between drift without losing too much speed, use the sport brake setup. BTW I'm using rx7 and viper.
Idk if it just me but when i'm untap then tap gas again (repeatedly) when drifting sometimes the car slightly feels different, i don't know how to explain properly but the game phsyic is like glitchy.
I’m having a lot of trouble with transitioning into the next turn, I’m using the Mazda mx7 with the build this channel uses but I can never turn another corner.
@@supreme.2094 so for example to transition from a left drift to a right drift all I gotta do is tap the brake inbetween drifts? At which moment do I do it?
@@lukinjo1231 legit right before your turn into full lock just tap it and it should kick out. i use super chargers because of instant power. it’ll keep the tires spinning when you tap the throttle like crazy
Nice video militia 👀 nailed pretty much everything in this video, I would also add not to use handbrake and nos tho as those can mess up your momentum pretty hard
I recommed super speedcross suspension, 5 speed transmission, drag tires, and showcase differential. It works super well for nissan 350z, silvia, rx7 and silvia 180.
i was on my nfsmw bmw m3 attempting drifts, i had the live tuning setup right, and was playing around with the performance parts trying to get it right.. how the heck does this combo work? your combo for rwd worked perfect.. although i would like it to have a little more slip and slide. my previous problem was it oversteers and overslides at every drift, like in those hills the perfect snake shaped wide streets, i would initiate the drift and immediately oversteer and spin the car. this is good
I don’t blame my lack of skill. I blame the screwed up traffic mechanic. Literally every time I start attempting a drift activity, the game suddenly decides it’s time for rush hour to start! I had EIGHT cars and trucks appear while trying to just complete the Cylinder Stairs, which is just a short overpass exit!
Idk why everyone complains about drifting in this game, honestly It's my first racing game since like... the original Hot Pursuit, tbh, so I don't have the conditioning most people do But one thing I can say is I HATE drifting using the gas button, I ALWAYS switch it to brakes no matter what car I drive and it just works so much better that way for me I was using the 350z, 370z, and then finally the RX7 (Best drift car by far) before I finally got a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR for racing and the RX7 was clearing drift trials WELL above the rating of my car (280+ drift trials with a sub-230 RX7) while getting easily 3-4x the score needed to complete the trial. So try out changing live tuning to increase steer sensitivity, decrease downforce, use brakes to drift, and please don't use all drift parts lmao, drift tires for example actually kinda suck at drifting in this game compared to drag tires
I don't know why they had to change up how the cars feel from the older games. I don't care about realism, i want to race whatever car i want and drift it too but they made the controls unnecessarily convoluted with the hitting gas to drift. It feels so janky on a controller, the slightest imput just puts you in a tailspin. This is why most wanted (2005) is king
Hello everyone, for those unpatient for the video let me tell you some tips and what i found out in this game testing it- you have three main tuner parts which you can use to make your car move slidey. i found out that the coilovers a.k.a suspension mod for drifting the so called Drift suspension-is the first thing you need to do This ability improves overall car steering, makes the drifts longer, and makes it easier to hold a drift, and control it with the steering. (i did this testing on the nissan 350z from U2-which gets unlocked ) i found out that the tyres (pro drift etc.) didnt matter really much (all they do is) actually make the car really really bad (like maybe they will help in some cases but i doubt that) note i tried all the mods separetly not mixed with other mods (when i used the expensive suspension kit-i just put the basic road tyres)-and the car slided pretty well even stock and it could make second gear donuts (in the case of the first car the first 3 gears are short so that makes it pretty easy to drift even without tyres) now the diff's-they dont quite improve you overall cars drifting abiltity but what they unlock is the so called SNAP-drift-it really kind of mimics a LSD locking diff-kind of kicks the tail out a bit more faster, more like snap oversteer in a Toyota Mr2. overall i think the diff is a bonus if you drift in low speed-like maybe want to connect drifts in tigher places OR in the mouintains the diff will work for lower class cars which are not that powerful. then i tried doing the same on the corvette zo6---it handles like a dream with the expensive pro suspension for drift with some cheap race tyres-but with a race diff technically it balences out-because i used that car to finish off the last mission for the drifting to get the nissan (although not neccesary needed to buy) i think the 200sx could probably beat that challenge just needs ALOT of power. so yea thats it guys hope you got my point have fun grinding and if u like me add me on nfs heat @imakandi23
in short nissan 350z *underground 2 car* -results-drift suspension only- overall good drifitng nice points easy to control-road tyres and no diff. same car-with no suspension but with drift tyres-just lacks control in high speed corners does not want to actually drift when swinged left to right. same car-with diff-but road tyres and no suspension for drifting- all it does is makes the handbrake and low speed drifts activate a bit sharper more like snap feel. then i tried them on the nissan 200sx-and the results were a bit the same-i would say the less the hp the car has-the more it probably needs some sort of diff or tyres-because otherwise you cannot drift it for longer-do note if you add up those it makes police escape really harder-and the tyres do mess up the launches a lot... (the drift ones) on the corvette z06-the same testing i made-every mod independetly and the car can slide pretty good and faily SMOOTH is the world i should say for completing the challenges-i suggest if you have difficulties drifting in NFS heat-you should try drifing in race driver grid-or try some sort of a racing game which needs drifting because it way the drift is activated is kind of the true way in the real life-but once you learn to swing it before the corner its much easier and the whole throttle thing is way easier-because before the corner you let off the gas and swing it left to right then you steer it into the corner with gas once you see you're heading the right way-you just blinp the throttle and GO ALL IN
Man the drifting mechanics on this game is horrible I don't know why they changed it from the one before the one on the first Need for Speed heat and pay back room beautiful then they changed the mechanics and now it's horrible
When in the drift do we rapidly press the gas repeatedly move the steering joystick from left to right as fast as possible? Thats what im doing but i cant stay in a 3x let alone 4x drift and counter steering how do we do that properly you say counter steer but what exactly is that if i tilt the joystick to one side it starts evening out same with the other way how can we properly counter steer where the front of ghe car doesnt zero out?
This video isnt detailed enough like when do we start the drift the begining of a curve or the middle and how fast do we flick the joystick from left to right do we flick the joystick really fast or do we count seconds between flicks
Still brining the content as usual. If you’re new here make sure to sub and hit the bell. My son and I beat this game and I got platinum easier thanks to my man and his vids. Love the channel and always here to support.
It's not working my driftbild gave me 2.5 or 6 % completion and good handling but yours not working getting 2 stars making hord showcase suspsan super pro drift tiars and sport differential I used for masda I want to complete 17 drift missans help me a good bild
Only thing I hate about drifting is when I really like a spot and take 10 minutes just drifting around it, the civilians just pile up and I crash into them one by one
you know that the players whom click on this vid, are expecting help on campaign races, exactly, as when you unlock the races, and you literally have the first unlockable options to set for drifting... right?!?
I really hate the way they went with Drifting on this game. I mean what do you do in any racing game especially "Grip Racing" before going around almost every corner..? Slow down.. then speed up.. to the Sweet Spot.. before understeer kicks in.. well this game makes it hard to just get around a damn corner without initiating a Drift! Also this game doesn't really have a Countersteer. Its more like Hollywood's Steeringwheel wiggling.. 🤦♂️
Omg, this might sound stupid, cause I feel stupid. But my mistake was, I used to only initiate the drift by letting off the gas, but then I basically always floored the gas while drifting. I learned the counter-steering, but this made the drifts either last to short, or the car getting out of control. Now when being gentle on the gas I feel like I'm in total control of how long I want the drifts to last.
I found drifting highly frustrating, i learned it in assetto corsa, essentially bmw m3, same as in nfs heat, and its super crap, you get more points for longer drifts rather than linkimg together a whole section, which will get next to nothing compared to 1 long drift
I also find drifting only but so useful in races, and it’s still easy to mess up the drifting. My RX7 in this game, for as much as the car is apparently meant to be for drifting, I just can’t imagine using it for making long exaggerated drifts. The car instead makes small drifts, but can kinda jusr turn like a normal car instead of having to drift and slow down the car. In a race. Drifting is only but so useful to me once you get into more of the other day races that aren’t as restrictive.
Pro tip to anoyone looking for a good car to practice on, get an r35, elite drift tires, dirt/drift suspension and dif, on a maxed stock engine, live tune have steering sensitivity one off of max, and downforce all the way down, gas drift style, ive been playing since release mostly drift and have not managed to top this setups hands long great for birds eye, and longer slighter angles.
I am using a Mustang GT and I keep drifting and spinning out of my drift. And if I do drift I fishtail right after. Can somebody that has had this happen or knows of it give me some pointers
figured out the drag tire thing on my own with an almost stock silvia but with all the drift diff and suspension. rwd cars really benefit in game from these rediculous drag tires. it feels like cheating xD as if the devs didn't want us to do this xD
