@@alexanderreider7552 use sport or even stock brakes. Basically the lowest tier that you can get. Will help you make transitions without slowing down so much. A LOT of people dont realize that THIS EFFECTS THE E-BRAKE SENSITIVITY aswell as the brakes. Play around with it a little bit.
I had to restart the FIRST race like 8 times because drifting is so counter intuitive.. moved to grip setups and am having so much fun now. Hopefully this guide will help me explore more with drifting tho
@@rarespetrusamartean5433 hard, but not impossible. It's about keeping your momentum and the way drifiting works in NFS makes it super difficult to make transitions without understeering. It essentially wants you to engage separate drifts, which, in a low power car, makes breaking traction in the second corner almost impossible You can use the e brake and some nos to get back in the power band, but it still takes some getting used to.
I am at Rep level 13 and I was struggling so much with drifting until now. Followed your steps and now I am able to get atleast 2 stars in most of the drift events. The drifting model is so different from NFS Payback but your drifting guide made it easier for me to build and live tune my dodge for perfect drifts. Thanks a lot! Peace!
DUDE NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE! THANK YOU, I CAN DRIFT NOW! I just wanted to update: I found the cars feel pretty controllable and allow you to counter-steer if you don't maximize the drift setting. I use Pro Drift suspension, Elite Drift tires, and Rally Super Differential and it feels really good. My experience with drifting comes from Forza Motorsport/Horizon, Assetto Corsa, and FiveM. UPDATE: upon further analysis all speedcross parts are the key.
I'm coming from forza and need for speed doesnt look like it resembles real drifting. I'm getting this game and it worries me because that's what I enjoy doing on forza and I think it going to be a hard transfer from forza
Wow, finally found something useful. Was never good at drifting in games, but this helped me through it. MANY THANKS! I can now enjoy the game WITH drifting, instead of have it ruining my experience. Finally a NFS game that brings me in again, like NFS Rivals did. SUPERB!
GODLIKE TIP!!! Thank you so much! After switching suspension, tyres & differential to speedcross, my drift scores litteraly doubled! Sooo much easier to control the drift!!!
Here's my secret to maintaining a drift: start the drift, then quickly wobble the control stick left and right over and over again. I don't know why it works, I don't know why it's better than just holding it at a specific angle, but it is. If you're drifting too wide or too tight, you can hold it in the direction you want to go for awhile to make adjustments, and then just go back to whipping it back and forth, you can also whip it left and right, but be biased towards one direction or the other to adjust your angle. Once you use this technique enough it will come instinctively and be really helpful, especially when trying to drift with a build that's a bit grippier than would be ideal. I use it for my "race-able night drift build" which is grippier than a day drift build to be better when running from the police as you can't swap out parts while in a cop chase, and i want something that's good enough at drifting, but also won't get it's ass whooped in a race.
Thank you so much! I tried those settings out in my newly bought Mustang GT but that was way too heavy. I then put the parts in my old RX7 and immediately 3 Star-ed every Drift Zone with ease!
wish id seen this sooner, been pulling my hair out n loosing my shit so much with the drifting parts of this game, can't wait to try this setup, many thanks mate
Awesome vid man I was just playing nfs heat and I was complaining about the drifting physics and I was using all drift parts I just changed all parts to the parts u said and dude thank u its soooo much better
can u share your RX-7 specs such as engine & other parts...cause I have a little trouble with low power & oversteer which make it impossible to link drifts. tks
@@TheMarslMcFly tks. I think my rx7 is low power due to the momentum loss after a nailed corner. I can drift well with it on each corner x4 but it's still lose a lot of speed and can't quite keep the multiplier for a better outcome. My setup is: On-road Sus, Drag Tires & Showcase Diff with all Pro+ engine parts
Wow, what a huge difference. I came here after struggling a bit in a mission where you need to get a score of 125,000. Thought I raced it perfectly but came up just short. Switched to speedcross parts and got 200k without even trying. Thanks!
Emil Dorbell and people say need for speed is ass those said people are playing it wrong people just love to hate on stuff certain people just can’t get into 😂
Love your vids! All of what you said is correct, but I would like to add on to that by saying that the most effective way to build a drift car in the game is to literally buy all the parts that put the crosshair dot on the furthest right center line right where "drift symbol" is. That can mean a mix of Speedcross, Drift and other suspension parts and it is the way the game is intended to be played for a drift car, it even gives you an achievement for beating a score with maximum drift "focus" on the crosshair. Engine power is really not that important, I speced out my stock Fairlady Z with the right suspension parts, it is ranked at a 105 and I'm beating high level drift trials with ease and difficult drift zones with it. Good video though I just thought this might add on to that :)
I’ve seen a huge improvement in my drifting. I’ve been using my Viper to drift and it seems like it’s a fairly good drift car too, thanks for the tips!
This has made working to 100% so much easier... i dont even have to switch cars anymore, all i do is take of track, add speedcross, and then put track back on after. Thanks for the great vid my guy
Thank you! This was driving me nuts. Not only it was hard to even initiate drift (half the time car would just refuse to drift, regardless of speed and build), but to keep it going - complete racer build would often initiate drifting, but end it just as fast, resulting in me hitting a wall. Who came up with this system I have no idea, It worked completely fine up from 2010 to 2013, then it just went bonkers.
You're the reason I'm buying this. Thanks, subscribed too. Keep uploading. Realism is more my style like Forza but this heavy drift feeling is all I wanted and was debating on buying 💯
thank you so much! seriously needed this guide, i found it so hard to sustain drift on the wheel (when i eventually got one) and i never felt in control of the direction i was going but after those part swaps it really made a difference. For three years, ive been banging my head into the wall struggling while watching my friend on the controller drift with efficiency and success made it so maddening for me, and now i feel with a little practice i can be swinging big again. thanks again my dude!
I never comment on vids but I just gotta say, this video just saved me from smashing my controller cause the difference between what I was doing and your suggestions were day and night. Drifting outside of a race feels fun now
This video is about getting high drift scores, not going fast. If you can grip through a corner, it will usually be faster, so you should only drift when you need to.
THANK YOU. I was doing the Aston Martin black market challenges and couldn’t get it for ,y life as soon as I watched the video and learned I immediately got it on my first try
It's really bad the story seems ok. But the customizeion and tuning is so bad.. no art has changed from the last nfs games. The tuning has changed abit but not in good ways even on good cars once you get them up there they run funny like buddy did something when you left the room and you cant tell what???
5.3 Fairlady hey everyone wanted more realism if anything this company did everyone a favor and that’s making it handle like ass so people would learn the driving style of the game it wasn’t meant to be easy it’s a learning curve on that game personally I respect that
Jason Victor the inner frustrations of this game will wear off once people sit down and play it shit I have a blast in the garage I don’t know what he is on about but I think quite differently about this game it’s a change of mindset that has to take place in order to play a game like this 😂
CleanMotorSport RacingAssociation It has to do more with the physics, not the difficulty of getting into a drift. Although it shouldn’t be hard to chain a drift and control how sideways you get. Those types of things aren’t making sense. It feels almost like the game is drifting for you sometimes because once you hit a straightaway after drifting a turn the car automatically has grip again
What the actual fuck, how does this actually help so much, i was using the 180s you start off with at like 210 rating and was just oversteering without fail. This actually makes the drifting playable now, thanks so much!
try drag tires, drag tires you get a shit ton of grip when youre accelerating off the line but when youre turning the corner the car is like NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE im going to oversteer all over the goddam place and rightfully it does so
Vic Santana Faaacts. I’ll be cruising along the street and next thing I know 6 cop cars are chasing after me, shit’s annoying and honestly the main reason I don’t play night. I wish there was a way you could passively cruise through nighttime mode, but once you start a race or something you become wanted (kind of like the star system in gta, cops will leave you alone until you start shit). I love the way nighttime looks and feels and the soundtrack that plays is amazing but the cops are a real buzzkill.
Jordan Irby Yeah I recently found out about that. Now I normally stay around the raceway and purposely piss off the cops. Most of my cars are also a high enough rep that a smoke the heat 1-3 cops.
With some messing around I got my Corvette like yours without the graphics though to drift like a champ. I can race and drift with the settings. Makes every track so much fun!
dude this actually helped me so much! I was struggling because my car kept overturning and I couldn't control it in turns but now that I don't absolutely botch my drifts I actually destroy the set scores! once more thanks so much man I really appreciate it
I literally just tried drifting with on-road drifting parts and it feels like I'm driving a grip car. Then I tried speed-cross parts and 3-starred that MF'king drift zone. Thanks Hoki!
Do you remember when Michael Jordan made everyone think they could be like him? Yeah! You did just that and I still can't drift to save my life. Great vid tho.
thanks for this drifting has been the most elusive part of heat for me to get round im pretty good at online races the corvette grand sport is a lovely car
Yesssss...first run I got 231k and after a few more learning runs I got the target on hard mode. Love the video and the tips and I did it all with a car under 200!
thank you for this. Played only the first race so far, due to time, but was quite confused as to how to even play this game. In the second corner of the first race, you are told to try to drift, but all I did was countersteer and crash all the time. This will definitely help.
I had a built rx 7 drifter and it was good but just wasn't cutting it. I made some tweaks I learned from this video and now I am crushing the drift events and activities! All thanks to this video, thank you so much!
God you dont know much I needed this. drift parts were just so bad for me and I had been considering mixing in some race parts or whatever to at least have car not lose so much speed when drifting but this sounds way better. I'll definitely be looking into this so thank you man.
Hi HokiHoshi, Thank you very much for this great video. Before I seen your video, I was not able to do any of the drift zones and only some of the drift events. Now I drift like a pro, well almost. This video was a great help.
That is awesome. I am only in my 2nd day into heat and only into the 2nd Wayne challenge, Quicksilver playing on hard. I seem to have gotten the drifting down really well but like you mentioned I kept snapping back too aggressively even on shallow drifts. Closes I got was 200/250k so will try speedcross parts and see if that would help.
For nostalgia reason I'll agree ONLY IF we shall consider it a put together idea for a quick follow up to most wanted and the main reason I'll agree is because that's the last time I felt like drifting meant a damn with the canyon drifts and duels I've been playing this franchise over 20 years and can honestly say carbon is good just in appreciated so if we can agree it's a lion king 1/2 then we cool
Huge tip that pretty much solved this for me (along with this video which you must do): If you're like me and put the most powerful engine in your drift car straight away: Only use 50% - 70% of your throttle! My tires were struggling for any grip that allowed me to control a turn; after this, I could complete and even link drifts pretty well.
My man ggs thats an awsome video i was struggling in drift u helped me a lot keep up the good work . I wish u the best and i hope to see more tips for all kind of racing modes. Best regards.
I know this videos from a while ago but I definitely appreciate the tuning tips and part tips. I’ve been having a blast drifting even before this video but this makes it more worth while
Thank you so much! Took me hours to get a single drift zone done. Was just about to give up, but then I found this video. Now I don't only get 3 stars in every drift zone on the first try, but I get way more points than needed for 3 stars too. I own you a platinum Sir.
ty bro. I literally just changed my car parts to fit more for off-road and changed my suspension down and I managed to complete my first drift race (excluding the tutorial). woo
