Love mortis's work but if you love these kind of stories( I myself can't handle 911 calls bc of the reason you wrote) you gotta check urmaker out. His whole channel became dedicated to his 911 series. Although I loved his voice and the effort he put in his other works I cannot go trough with this series but also want him to get the appreciation he deserves from people who have the heart to listen to them.

These stories got to me more than I thought they would. I can't imagine how hard it would be deal with all that they have to and then clock out and try to be something resembling "normal" to your spouse, children, and friends. A huge thank you to all those who *are* able to do this job. You deserve to be treated with respect by those that you work with and by the people whose very lives depend on you each and every day. And I'm sorry that you have to deal with people that don't appreciate you for doing a job that they most likely couldn't handle - and for those that don't use the 911 service for it's intended purpose. Thank you for sharing these stories Mort. I wish that videos like this one weren't demonetized. Dispatcher's stories need to be heard, this is real life and it definitely isn't for everyone.

I absolutely love these stories! My husband is a firefighter and I love hearing all his stories but they aren't always easy for him to tell. My dad was also a firefighter and I wish I could have asked him about his stories before he passed.

Thank you, it's always nice to be appreciated!! I love my job and wouldn't give it up for anything but there are those days where you go home holding back tears or anger due to certain calls. It's rewarding but definitely difficult.

A Big thank you for covering what it is like behind the scenes. Us Dispatchers do Not get the credit we deserve. We are actually the first responder on scene. Before the cops, firemen, paramedics or ambulance co. We are gathering information dispatching the units required and keeping track of them calling out Edison, water co, giving life saving instructions, calming callers down, etc to help or rescuers and dealing with attitude not only from callers but our own staff or responders on the radio. I enjoy knowing I help others but most of the time it is a thankless job

Thanks. As A long term dispatcher I got to mention 1 thing everyone forgets. sometimes its our own family members that die also. I handled the call for my own father when he died in the line of duty. It really messes with your head, I almost quit after.

I guess it can go both ways. A lot of the time the public hears what we consider rude dispatchers seeming not to care about the people they are supposed to be helping. Yet to hear it from the other side of what all they have to go through it does make one think that there is of course good and bad in the situation of those seeking help and those who offer it.

When I worked security, we use to share our radio frequency with a company that delivered home heating oil (this was quite a while ago); as a result, we could listen in on them. One of the older drivers, Bob, claimed to have been around "Since Christ was a Cowboy!" & since "Moby Dick was a Minnow!" I remember thinking, "What a weird old man..." -- now look at me! Fog is rolling in as I write this & I can no longer see the lights across the road...who knows what lurks out there...& I hope I won't need to call 911 -- they'll never find me. Call me Warren Ishmael.

I watched this new series called Emergency Call and it showed how insane it’s to be a dispatcher. Not sure why it stopped airing on tv and I hope it comes back. The saddest part is that almost 90% of the time they don’t ever know the ending to the story. That part would drive me insane

It is incredible, tragic, and terrible what people will do to each other just to make a point, or win. I'm a former imaging technologist (x-ray tech). I got these people after arriving at the hospital. If anyone ever said "Oh, Ive seen everything", well they never see what I seen or what the first responder/emergency room personal deal with everyday. And Damit were a mask. If not for yourself, then for family and friends.

To be able to do the job that these ppl do, I highly commend and thank them for they are Angel's on earth💞HUG'S to them. I can only imagine the horror of their work and I'm sure at times they feel gratification that they have saved ppls lives but still alot of times horrific. I listened to half of the story's then had to stop, cant say from horror but I think from the depression of the sadness of them. Father God Bless them.

@@nancyM1313 Thank you for reply Nancy. Yes i know, some people here in my State too, and others did the same; especially the young ones who think they are untouchable! Always wear the mask! I do since they told us here, and go out once a month. But for now on, my sister will do my groceries and payments, i got worse from bronchitis, because bad weather... Stay safe dear one. The story that starts at 19:41, trying to locate the 911 call of the woman screaming..... He took that call home? GTFOOH.... Cause he has to listen to it? Try responding to it ! Try seeing it ! Day in and day out for 25 years! I on the other hand only have 9 years 5 months and 3 days.
