For me one of the saddest stories ever told by a contestant was Cynthia Lee Fontaine saying that she cancelled the show where the shooting in Orlando had a place. And the saddest part was that her friend stayed there anyway even tho he was waiting for her to perform and later he got shot…
An old friend of mine used to do a podcast interviewing queens when they came to the UK. Cynthia took time out of her schedule to call me personally because I was a fan. She’s truly such a lovely person. This broke my heart. As did her cancer dx. She’s such a genuinely nice person.
just an errror there - cynthias friend did go to the club to see her but cynthia had to reschedule and was not going to preform there but friend stayed anyways after cynthia told him that and that he was ganna have a fun time anyway
Season 9 had a few of those moments Cynthia talking about the club shooting, and either the episode before or after when they were discussing that part of Cynthia’s out of drag job is HIV counselling and resources and the really heartbreaking talk with Charlie.
You know, we've joked a lot about Ganja's "I feel very attacked" moment over the years but in hindsight it was sad. Poor thing was legit having a panic attack and everyone was just ganging up on her.
Laganja was more just having the panic attack because production wouldn’t let her smoke even though she had a medical prescription for marijuana. Yet Adore was allowed to do so, so Ganja was just having high anxiety and a panic attack because she wasn’t allowed her medication. Well she’s medicated now and she is a star.
Having the benefit of hindsight and seeing how Ganja is doing now, I feel so weird about this confrontation. On the one hand, yeah it was cruel as hell. They really ganged up on her and didn’t give her a lot of breathing room. On the other hand, maybe she needed something like that. It could’ve been handled better but maybe she needed to come to terms with the fact she was playing a character and maybe that character wasn’t necessarily just Laganja
and alexis saying “yara no llores” so softly and gently trying to comfort her and make her feel better then almost immediately breaking down at the back of the stage knowing that she won the lip sync 😭 i recently rewatched season 3 and i could not get through that episode god i was a mess
When they “judged” Adore I felt so bad because they didn’t just critique her Michelle read her so harshly and it was so undeserved. Adore needs her moment to shine on drag race because she’s truly amazing.
For me, one of the saddest moments was when Trinity and Cynthia were talking about the Pulse Shooting. That was so sad. It was so sad and heartbreaking that something like that happened. What made the conversation so sad was they both lost people they knew. 🥺
what’s worse is that she probably knew that neither her nor katya had a chance against alaska just because of how obvious production made it 😭 like i love alaska with all my heart and she deserved every piece of that win but objectively the challenges and judging were skewed in her favour. poor d but she still was in the top 3 of the best season of drag race we’ve ever had so 🤷♀️
I hate that people joke about roxxxy's bus stop trauma because there's nothing funny about being left by your mother. I loved seeing her grandma who raised her come on all stars as her mom
@@Zushi_RollDifference is, she actually knows Roxxy and probably asked her if she could joke about that. The fandom does not know her personally, so it just comes off as edgy when they try to do the same lol
@@mikeyhamato2012 "Fun" fact that is not really fun : Katya herself said on UNHhhh that she didn't like that "read", cause it wasn't a read at all, she was just mocking Roxxxy's traumatic experience.
@@mikeyhamato2012 It's something that a lot of queens have been talking about as well : the queens are catty between them and banter, so the fans think they can talk to the queens like they talk to each others, to create what they think is a bond between them and the queens.
I really felt bad for Pangina and Rock M. For an Asian like them and to compete an international show, they really represent their own country and being sent home very early is such a downfall for them and the supporters 😢😢.
She was really sent home because the previous week she sent home the biggest competitor and disregarded track record. Those actions put a target on your back. Blu made a good play. But it would have been a better season with pangina and jimbo
Laganja’s run, especially that moment, was cruel because she uses “grass” to calm down and keep herself in check, and because of the laws in Cali at the time, she wasn’t allowed to use it. Hence, she was on the edge for most of the competition.
@@devinngeorge There's a difference between abusing substances and taking authorized amounts. Laganja was taking medication which production probably didn't realize was illegal until she arrived (or worse, casted her knowing her prescription, then took it away). Like someone above said, she had medical authorization, so she probably had a set daily amount. And being an adult is realizing that one needs help rather than leaving the problem alone, like Laganja did, realizing that she needs help staying calm and collected with drugs or certain chemicals. What's not being an is judging others for the things that could potentially aid people in life.
I remember when they were doing some kind of a widow improv mini challenge on season 5 and Detox couldn't joke around it bc it reminded her of finding her lover's dead body. That was so sad and painful to hear
Adore’s quitting AS2 really lead to this Season 6 curse on all stars(Dela Quitting and Milk and Gia’s bad edits), but at least AS6 broke that curse, Laganja vs Trinity’s Dua Lipa Lip Sync Battle, Bianca as a Lip Sync assassin fake out and also, TKB having a typical All Stars elimation are those moments that broke the curse, and now with Darienne on AS8, I won’t worry about her since the Season 6 curse is no more
There is another curse.... The Queens of the sign libra, they ALL make a moment on ALL stars seasons (adore, bem) and now there is a rumour about Heidi...
I think another really sad moment was when Dusty in S10 told his story about the abuse that he got from his religious parents when they found out he was gay. That really made me cry to the ground as a religious gay boy 😢
I will always say that Rock M Sakura was sent home too early especially when compared to aiden zhanes look like I actually like the messy and randomness of her look its exactly what I imagine when I think of a pom pom look!
Blu took a page from Naomi's book and literally took out the front runner honestly Panginas elimination along with Adore quitting and Rock M's elimination like hit me the hardest
Glad I'm not the only person that felt the "I feel very attacked" moment is sad. I understood where Ganja was coming from and the pressure she was on. Yeah, she wasn't doing the best but it's bad when you make this character to protect yourself and you don't even realise it and get confronted it. Also, she needed that moment of her parents supporting her! They were mean to her and seeing her breakdown was so sad. Glad she's doing amazing now!
I used to think that Roxxxy's breakdown was so random, but I now see how old wounds can just creep up on you. She was intimidated, under pressure, giving it everything she had, and it just all just bubbled up, on top of the sudden humiliation that you just SAID THAT OUT LOUD. But I'm glad they didn't cut it and that she did share it. We really don't know what other people go through.
Like most fans of the show when I first watched season six and was introduced Laganja I thought she was a bit much and when Michelle called her out for being her ott character all the time and the other S6 queens letting her know she was too much I thought it was justified but now knowing her backstory as it relates to her anxiety and her use of Marijuana I do see that in her words she was being attacked in that moment and any queen that has been on drag race will tell anyone the show is alot of work.
I mean, Jimbo said he was going to do the exact thing so Pangina literally pulled an AS3 Dela v. Morgan but because it’s Jimbo it was a national tragedy. Jimbo wouldn’t have second guessed eliminating Blu lol.
I know people in the fandom joke a lot about Roxxy's abandonment story/trauma but damn, it's fvcking heartbreaking. Got me sobbing 😢 that must freaking suck to be left by your own mother
Detox, honey, it was so obvious that the production was favouring Alaska, if you had sent her home, MAYBE you'd have a chance of actually getting the crown in AS2. Its possible you'd still lose to Katya or Alyssa (because lets be real, it wasn't gonna be Roxxxy)? Yes, but they were clearly not the production's favourites, so you had your chance.
Im going to hell for this, but roxxxys cry makes me giggle a little bit, not because i dont like her, but because i find it kinda funny how she cries, sorry roxxxy :(
I miss those times when the humanity of drag race competitors was exalted, not like now when they only choose gymnasts to do a lypsinc show and weird characters to show who is more feminine.
Wish production would have forced Blu to say “I’m sending Pangina home because there’s no way I can win with her still here”. It was dirty weak shit for her to do that. Hope that single she got to record was worth everyone knowing she’s a coward.
Huh? She seemed pretty clearly shocked to me. You can even see her jaw tremble like she’s about to cry. I don’t think she realized it would hurt that much for Pangina. And let’s not forget that Pangina did the exact same thing to Jimbo before that. She’s the one that set the standard.
This is the type of message that makes queens afraid to play the fucking game. Go outside and touch some grass, delusional psycho. In any case, Pangina had done exactly the same thing the episode before, she had it coming. Her excuses for sending Jimbo home were bullshit and they all knew it.
Pangina’s elimination wasn’t emotional for me, play stupid games win stupid prizes. If she didn’t go the shady route and eliminate Jimbo then maybe she wouldn’t have been eliminated
@@fenrirvanangandr9406 it’s a matter of opinion, Pangina knew she couldn’t win against Jimbo so she sent her home. Jimbo could definitely improve in lip-syncing but that elimination was SHADY
I'm sorry I know I'm fcked up in the head but I can't help but laugh when I see people crying like Roxxie, I know it is sad but lmaooo I can't. and then Pangaina crying bc she got yeeted HAHAHAH.
Not to be mean,But I was absolutely EXCITED when rock m went home. She and Jan were my least favorite that season.I don t mean this in a devious way I genuinely wanted them to get eliminated so badly😭😭😭😭
