Your "epic cadence" is also known as the "Mario cadence" because in the computer game Supermario it was used for an achievement. As you explained, it is three major chords in a row a whole tone apart.

Dear Jason, when you sing the word Amen whilst playing a Plagal cadence when demonstrating the end of a hymn you use two differing notes. In contrast, in churches in England I am more familiar with using one note, the tonic of the melody’s scale, on both syllables of the word. This repeated tonic emphasises the end of the hymn as much as the harmony and the text does. The combination is probably a bit too familiar and exaggerated for modern tastes but I think that is probably why the cadence also came to be known as the Amen one. Thank you for so much content of such high quality and for the joy of listening to your beautiful, pure singing and melodies.

i told people i didnt need to know theory but i got no respect. I knew i didnt like the minor 4 chord before i knew what it was. I just like nice sounding things where the focus is on other things than sophisticated chords. I do dig lydian though and how to emphasize it when i get to C hord in G major. Then i know im crackin when i play that lol
