One day I was dancing down a little hill and didnt recognize that there were 3 cars behind me. At the end of the I noticed first that there were cars behind me and as they passed me I thought I would see some angry faces, but I earned lots of applause. I was so happy and confused at the same time :)
I watched this the other day and followed your advice when I went longboarding the next day. It helped me progress so much I didn't think I could! Thank you :)
Literally, all I have to say is, I love you dude. You got me into Longboard dance/freestyle, and have been one of the biggest reasons I never give up. I remember learning the No-Comply, and I was at the end of my wits with it. I messaged you asking for help, for some tips. I didn't even expect a reply because of how busy you must be. Not only did I get a voice message back, not only did you give me great tips, but you gave me motivation, you told me to keep pushing through. Even though I've never met you, you'll always be a mentor and friend bro.

Great video bro I love dancing and I would like your thought on a spin I put on the peter pan that I haven't seen anyone do. The difference is that you peter pan with one foot hopping side to side with the carve like a chop but you don't stop chopping.
This video really inspired me to go out and longboard. I'm new to longboarding and today I really pushed myself. I took my first dance steps on my board. The session was short because it started raining but man I feel so good. Thanks Hans

I'm watching a lot of your videos and I always find you amazing! I was a little "embarrassed" to dance in front of those professionals who are doing incredible tricks when you can't do a nollie but you make me understand that it's nothing and everybody has been a beginner :) but I'm going to do better and better, I have to feel confident !
It's also (IMO) important to think of dancing in a musical sense. The Set-Up and Resolution of a dancing line for example. Your moves have to bring you from one point to another, and you'll have to somehow end up in your first position (standing in your regular stance), then you can feel free to push or repeat or start another line.
+RYM True words. You can make it as complicated and complex as you want though, that's the fun thing about it. A 180 step to switch 180 step can be as much as longboard dancing when you do it smoothly as whatever complicated line.
One of my most favourite lil combos :) Feels just right. But I do also enjoy really technical stuff where the slightest angle of your feet makes a big difference.

great tips! I think this will help many people, but there's something I'm missing, maybe you also didn't think about. when it comes to dancing and especially to style, people forget about the part from hips to head. It's nice to do some steps and crazy combinations, but what gives you the extra touch for dancing is, if you also think about how to move your head, arms, hips, shoulders, even the fingertips. this is something "real" dancers do, but we "longboard-dancers" can also do to improve our style and getting this extra touch. cheers :)
Hi Julia! First of all, thank you :) I think you're absolutely right on that part, and I didn't think about it indeed haha. I have had that tought in mind when I've been dancing though. And when you see great longboard dancers, you can notice them do those extra's indeed. But for me, when I try do do something like that for making it extra stylish, I often think it looks forced, compared to when I do it as I subconsciously would. This is probably something just for me personally, because when I saw you dance at SYCLD last year, I noticed you dancing from head to toe and it looks awesome. It's probably just something for me to work on, and a great tip indeed. Thanks :)
Seriously, thank you mate! I've been trying to learn how to dance for a while and the carving tip helped immensely. Additionally, the tilting foot tip was just what I needed. They seem so small but I was able to become more comfortable with it and now I'm in the process of cleaning and putting a personal touch on it. I needed to hear this. I'm just a beginner at longboarding so I haven't learned any tricks or dance moves yet but this has given me motivation to improve and then try dancing and learning tricks - using these tips :)

How come the longboards that I see on youtube stay stable when the dancer perform a trick? On mine (Loaded Dervish Sama) it wobbles when I just want to do a cross step and makes me loses balance. Any tips on how to prevent this?
It's simply because of practice. Other then that, maybe it's too loose for your bushings. Then you should replace your bushings for softer bushings so it's still loose but not that wobbely.
Hey man i loved your video ! i have started with dancing/cross stepping recently instead of just cruising with my longboard. i have learned the normal cross step and carving as a start. i can do that one without failing and looking like i have no control XD almost everytime anyways but i have no idea where to go from there ? i have tried improvising abit, with some atempts to spinning and then i only fall at 180 XD it often ends up with me getting stuck in normal cross stepping and as you said in this video that is not good. any advice for someone that is stuck on one move and maybe some other moves that is good to do for a beginner before you are skilled enough to make your own ? thank you ! :D
I'm just now getting into longboard dancing. I've noticed that the boards only have the griptape on the kicks. As a beginner, should I learn dancing with full griptape and then later take the middle section out? Would that help my learning? Thanks!
