I actually managed to get my hands on the squirtle as the Japanese promo a while back. I haven't looked at the trends for it so I'm interested in seeing whether the english or the japanese will gain the advantage. I will still be hunting for the english one for sure, but I think the difficulty of getting the japanese card will add some value to it.
The Pikachu has found a new home! DM me on Instagram @phillips.collectibles (preferred), or if you don't have socials, please email, the latter can be found on my RU-vid Profile. (Please claim your gift by September 20.) I think you're definitely right about Squirtle, will be an interesting future!
@@franzjack Yeah, I'm still fairly new to this but I thought at least overtime a promo like this would at least gain some traction in a few years maybe. Guess we'll see.
Your videos were great!! I am one of your viewers and have been watching your videos lately. I would like to invest, but I still can't find the right investment to commit to. I will appreciate any help here.
I usually go with registered representative; Zachery M Demers, He provides a more grounded approach, looking at factors like market demand, regulatory changes, and adoption trends. This approach enable to make informed decisions rather than solely relying on emotional market dynamics
In my opinion. Reprint or not, whether english or japanese. The 151 set would always hold a special place in the heart of every pokemon fan. The sheer nostalgia of seeing the first generation pokemon is like seeing your old friend after a long a very long time. Not to mention the amazing art thats included in this set. I pray that the would do a reprint just so i can try completing mh master set 151. 😂😂
@@GodTailmon oh boy. I need to get myself a few boxes of that booster sets. Probably need 5 to hopefully complete the set. I havent gotten any of the art rare yet
Any sealed booster box at a great price is a great investment. Also Pokémon Center ETBs! I think there is ALOT of growth that can happen with alot of the sets!
Growing up with Pokémon, I remember the thrill of pulling that holographic Charizard from a booster pack, feeling like I just unlocked a treasure from another world. Now, with the new generation, it's not just about catching them all-it's about connecting across time, bridging the magic we felt as kids with the excitement of today’s evolving game. It's not just cardboard-it's a portal to the best memories, past and future.
I came back with 151 after not collecting since my childhood. I definitely went in way too hard over the last couple months haha. But it was all in good fun. Going forward I’d like to become smarter about it. Maybe slowly try out some minor investments. But I’m mostly in it for the collecting!
Gen 1 is my favorite as someone who grew up with it, so 151 is really special to me. And from what the market says about it, then its special to a lot of others.
Well Phillip, I have to thank you. Although a year late to the 151 release, It has brought me back into Pokemon collecting, which I never thought I would do again and your videos have assisted me in quickly familiarising myself with so much useful information and advice I would be lost without! Thanks boss ^^
I'm all about the 151. It brought me back into the hobby. My wife loved it but might despises it now since im obsessed with the collection and investment. But I've learned to shut up about it and just listen to your videos and a few other creators. Love what you're doing and thank you for being you Phil !!!
Just getting back into Pokemon after over 20 years. I know I’m past the hype but discovering 151 now as an old gen 1 collector really fills me with nostalgia. I’m hoping to invest in the set and hopefully collect a set of the starters to go along with my base set unlimited charizard, blastoise, and venusaur. I’ll hold them all to hopefully help my daughter with her finances someday.
Best memory was my late dad investing in Pokémon when I was 11 and buying all the gym leader box sets going into the hobby when gym heroes came out. I’ll never forget when he brought those home to surprise me when I was sick in bed.
Thank you as always for the content. Personally, as an investor, I do not skip sets. Pokemon is the number one franchise that will always have room for growth, no matter if you're a fan of the set or not. Collectors collect what they like and investors buy and hold for future gains. Keep up the good work!
151 took me straight back to the playground at school. Swapping and trading base set cards from stuffed binders. Those Pokémon are iconic and much loved 💚
I just started my collection journey with Eeveelutions in evolving skies. That eevee illustration rare in Twilight Masquerade has definitely piqued my interest. Thanks for the sharing!
This channel is absolute gold! My kids started collecting about a year ago, but when I kept finding cards scattered everywhere I decided to check their values…and now I’m also hooked. Your vids have helped me start building my collection knowledge 💪
Only recently started collecting again after loving it as a kid and boy am I glad to have come across your channel. So grateful to have some up to date advice! I am looking forward to the new sets coming out this year as well. Big fan of Milotic as well😉
Was considering 151 Japanese, that's sold me thanks mate. Also already cracked a paldean etb and twilight masquerade packs with the kids. Was stoked with the pulls and gonna grab some more etbs 😂, thanks man🤙
A friend just got me into TCG scene recently. This vid was definitely helpful and easy to follow. Especially when so much content out there talks over newbie's heads.
Completely agree with you on Squirtle and Bulbasaur in Stellar Crown. I just pulled Squirtle yesterday from a Stellar Crown booster box! Your videos have helped me what I want to focus on buying, thank you! Happy hunting everyone!
I'll probably pick up some nice illustrations in the upcoming months. I'm mostly trying to add some pretty cards to my own collection, but I've also been collecting some full art cards for my kids to give them for Christmas. They still have that innocent way of collection based on how cool something looks, and don't care about the financial side (yet) which is something that makes me happy
Just got back to the hobby with 151 the day it released and it was clear from the get go that it was gonna rise. Just a real nostalgic set, I love it, tho hopes are not hight for a reprint...
Ever since you made a video about investing in something you love, that is the route I have taken. You simply said that if it doesn't work out, you just open it with your kiddos and have a great time and I love that philosophy. I've never enjoyed investing as much as I do now.
Perfect selections and even more perfect explaination. People would give grief seeing paldean fates over sv 151 but you explained it perfectly as to why.
Been collecting since 1998 and with selling cards to just to live for 7 months. Those cards that paid my bills were all vintage. I'm happy to learn about sword and shield and be up to date kind of with scarlet and violet. I appreciate the new art but still love the simplicity of the OG series.
I believe that the best long-term investment in Pokémon cards are those featuring Pokémon from the newest generations. Many people are returning to Pokémon cards after a 10-20 year break and tend to prefer Pokémon from the generation they grew up with, which are currently the most popular and sell well. In 10-20 years, today's younger generation will likely do the same with their own favorite Pokémon. So, I think it's worth investing in the Pokémon that are popular with kids now and wait for them to return to the market when they grow up! That's just my personal opinion. :)
New to the channel and hobby as of the summer so I appreciate the helpful breakdowns. These videos are really well made Unfortunately I missed the English 151 so I’m really hoping for a reprint🤞it would be fun to recollect all the Pokémon I had as a kid
I have pre ordered 4 surging sparks Pokémon centre etbs. Normally I am not the biggest fan of etbs, mainly because of the storage space. However with the other Pokémon centre etbs doing well, the magneton promo which is a gen 1 Pokémon and has the same art style as Magikarp and giratina, not to mention Pikachu is on the box art and the box art looks beautiful! In addition to this the set has latias, latios and I would imagine a Pikachu chase of some sort I felt like it was a no brainer! 🔥 I got these from the Pokémon centre website and being from Scotland 🏴 I paid £200 for the 4 Pokémon centre surging sparks etbs 🎉
I think Stellar Crown will be big in the future. The new style change with the rainbow colors and style change of the Tera form Pokemon. Then they also have illustrations rares of Bulbasaur and Squirtle.
oh man that pikachu is so cute :D anyway i totally agree that twilight masquerade will skyrocket after the sv era because the cards inside are so good (tatsugiri in particular🐟)
Been fighting between expanding my collection and also making a profit from my collecting. That was a very good list and actually am stoked for when my booster box gets here. Also that’s a very nice card, I hope I win the giveaway! 🎉
Hello this is the first video i see of you. Glad I could tune in cause U did a great job. I am a collector myself, but i am fairly new. Thank you for the content and the compay!!!
Thanks for the amazing content! Super helpful for a 90s kid who’s just getting back into the hobby not knowing where to begin. Long journey to make up for my mom giving away my childhood collection 😅
Im glad i found your channel cause i have no idea what I'm doing but i know that i wanna do something with pokemon investing. I wasn't taught about finances growing up so this is like going to school all over again, luckily without homework. 😂
Your videos changed my life, It helped me so much on my journey to trying catch them all. At first I used to waste money but your videos and advice helped me choose which pokemon investments is worth it. Thank you buddy.
When you were talking about Battle Styles and you said “it also has the amazing alternate art…” I thought you were going to say Sleeping Tyranitar , my favourite Alt Art from S&S , but you said Urshifu and I puked in my mouth a little 😂 love ya man
Haven’t bought Pokémon since 2000. I have a ton of 1st, fossil, rocket and 2nd edition cards in binders at my folks house. I will have to go through them over the holidays! I’m getting back into collecting though. Waiting for a 151 reprint so I can buy UPC and some boxes for reasonable prices.
I think that Crown Zenith will be a huge investment. Eventually it will be out of print and pull rates are crazy good. I look at this kinda like the JP VStar Universe in terms of popularity because of the cards and pull rates, leading to its popularity.
I think its still a good time to invest on whatever 151 products you find. Reprint or not, those are sure to increase in value. And I think the stellar miracle should be placed higher considering the popularity of the Gen 1 IRs.
