Speaking of Suikoden... we are still waiting on the 1&2 remaster. It was rated a while back but haven't heard much on it since. I was honestly expecting it early this year but here we are past the halfway mark and nothing.
SMRPG was easily one of the best announcements. Every other Mario-based RPG that followed after that game were let-downs other than the first 2 Paper Mario's, but they still couldn't hold a candle to this classic. One of my favorite collabs of all-time.

Excited for some of these games! I’ll always sub to a jrpg channel, so that was an easy decision, no convincing required. You missed Dragon Quest Monsters Dark Prince. Definitely looking forward to that game. I have a creative question for you: are you reading from a teleprompter? I’m in the market for one so I can maybe eventually show my face in my videos 😅
That is the game I'm most looking forward to. I cannot wait to get back into monster collection with the dragon quest style. I only hope they continue to advance their DQM battle system and make it even better than the previous games.
Oh right, DQM Dark Prince! Man, there are so many good ones coming out... Yeah, I use the Desview T3 teleprompter -- it's pretty good, but it's not quite as wide as I would want it to be. I use an older iPad Pro as the screen to reflect from, and it's just a BIT too wide for the reflector, but I can still make it work. If you're using a phone or a smaller tablet to reflect from, though, I imagine you'd be just fine.

So many interesting, sounding ones. I missed Baten Kaitos on the Cube as well ... at least most of it. Played the first half, but eventually gave up. Don't have a Switch ... though with the Xenoblade trilogy, Baten AND maybe the Xenosaga remaster I may have to bite the bullet. One thing I do remember about Baten Kaitos - both of them - is the music. These games, Eternal Sonata and Star Ocean 3 have some of the best Motoi Sakuraba music. A lot of his tales stuff is ... pretty much the same soundtrack. But these four games have amazing scores.
I never got a chance to play Chained Echoes, but I preordered the physical copy from whatever UK company was handling that. Looking forward to both that and Sea of Stars!
I’ve got Super Mario RPG Remake, Persona Tactics, Star Ocean 2 remake all on pre order at my local GameStop. I’m looking most forward to Super Mario RPG from that list as I’m a bit of a Super Mario fanatic Also can’t wait for Rune Factory 3.. oh and of course, Sea of Stars which looks amazing!
I've started preordering through Best Buy, because they've actually been really consistent at getting stuff to me on time (unlike Amazon). I'm trying to decide what platform to get Star Ocean 2 on... I like the versatility of the Switch, but all my other Star Ocean games are on PlayStation consoles...
@@JustTheGems that’s fair! A lot of people don’t like GameStop much either, but I’ve become friends with the manager and all the staff and they consistently have my stuff on time. I usually get my games on my games on my Switch for the versatility if swapping between docked and handheld. Especially for JRPGs
I loved both Baton Kaitos and am pretty psyched for the release. My issue with many of the new JRPGs is the throwback graphics...I HATE all the HD2D stuff. For me it's just a cheap cop-out for graphics. I lived through the 8 bit / 16 bit era and have no interest in reliving it. Why try to make games look old - that does nothing for me. I know many love the look but it really pushes me away from games I might otherwise try.
The indie scene seems to be pushing new stuff or retro semi new stuff, while the big industries are stuck on remakes. Not all remakes are bad or weak, but it seems like theres a bit of creative risk aversion. Besides Trails anyway...im hoping to see your news of Kuro no Kiseki soon! I hear its a truly resplendent RPG, comparable to azure or SC, with the most likeable protag since estelle...ill have to make that judgement myself...as soon as possible Eiyuden Chronicles is my big wish for success. Suikoden is one of the greatest series ever and to me only really had one bad game...IV...and even liked that one.
You missed the new Dragon Quest Monsters game which comes out in December. I was a fan of the Rune Factory series but after the localization team changed all the characters into alphabet people in the fifth game, that killed the series for me.
It's weird to me that there aren't gay options in the Japanese version, seeing as how there are just as many gay people in Japan as in America (proportionally speaking). Also, I think you as the player get to choose what to be, right? So couldn't you just play it straight?
It is literally the same game, just added a feature not needing your MC to be a certain gender to do the romance aspect of it. Literally makes it less limited. You are bothered by something you wouldn't even use in the 1st place.
