Micah, Thanks! This is a very nice video, even though it's sponsored. It doesn't hurt at all that the bike seems really good. For years now, I've been saying I wouldn't seriously consider getting an Ebike until they have UL listing and a torque sensor. My excuses are dwindling. Another worthy looking alternative is the now Radpower Radster City. Now I can seriously looking at Ebiking.
Just picked one up last week, got to say pretty darn good. This is my first ebike i bought from a manufacturer. My first 2 were custom built bafang mid drive. Getting older and wanted a step thru. I love it has many great features.
I saw that too, but if you watch it, they have it in Trail mode, not in Boost mode, so if you look at their mode/level chart, they were only using about 80% of available power. If it’s the same one I’m thinking of. That was a dirty trick, and I can’t figure out why they did it.
The pedal assist levels are useless - 'boost mode' requires so much torque from the user you may as well just buy an acoustic bike. It barely assists at all, even when in pas5 and boost mode. I think I am returning mine.
I bet they having everything made in China, they my have the idea and design in an office in the United States but no way are they manufacturing here in the USA not at that price point.
I own one of these. Do not buy it. I have never experienced an ebike that requires so much power from the user. Even in pas5 boost mode. There is nothing boost about boost mode

Actually, it's very different....Velotric bikes break down fast. This bike in particular, is having battery seating into the frame issues and the main controller malfunctioning. My local bike shop couldn't put the Discover 2 on the floor to sell due to "issues" Folks, if you're shopping around I suggest reading through FB groups and reddit on the bike your interested in. Lot's of sad people with Velotric.
