The close up of the rattail fish gliding towards the camera head on is absolutely amazing. Outstanding. What a beautiful fish, so so graceful but also looks so sad.

I thought the same too. It has the same look that I have on Monday mornings when I walk into work. That LONG, BLANK stare. Who knows, maybe Mr. Rattail's weekend is coming to a close and it knows that the upcoming week ahead, is full of B.S. meetings and monotonous, menial tasks? 💡🤨🤔 😵‍💫😥😑😓😮‍💨 That LONG, BLANK stare into space.. 😳 😂🤣😂

What makes the brittle star encounter so interesting is that... • it is not known to be cannibalistic, nor even really predatory (except on rare occasions) and, therefore, it does not seem likely that this is a predation event and • brittle stars do not reproduce sexually, and therefore, this does not appear to be a mating event. They are broadcast spawners, or more frequently, they split themselves in half and regrow the now-missing limbs and central disk.

Siphonophores are absolutely *fascinating!* A colony of single celled organisms.. individual parts, each having a specific function.. all staying connected as they grow and in some cases reaching lengths that match the blue whale! 🐋😮 It's mind blowing! A biological miracle that actually make you reflect on what being an “individual” really means!

25:04 makes me wonder if they both caught something or some kind of parasite that we are not aware of that can cause this to happen. Similar to what Cordyceps do to ants and insects

The two brittle stars look like they are courting. They started out looking like a first date, just holding hands. Then things heated up. 😮

Nr. 1. is a Disco Squid. It's colors and movement obviously states it, someone should mix some dance-type of music under it.
