I love doctor who rumours and theories! 😂 I remember when the companion dan lewis was announced and there were lots of rumours that he might be connected to a previous doctor who companion. Plus the mystery was further fuelled by the thirteenth doctor speaking the same line to Dan when she met him as the ninth doctor said to rose in the series 1 episode Rose! "Nice to meet you Rose, run for your life!" "Nice to meet you Dan, run for your life!" But eventually it became clear that dan was in fact just another poorly written character that wasn't destined to go much further. He was fun and worked really well with the thirteenth doctor and yaz, but there was so much missed potential with his character! Great video, thanks Ellie and Who Culture! 😊😊

I remember in 2003, when Lalla Ward was playing Romana in the Big Finish's Shada with Paul McGann, she released an interview on line, and talked about a young actor having a go at her when she first got the role of Romana in Doctor Who, saying that she wasn't a proper actress, 'cause proper actors never do science fiction, they only perform on stage classics. That young actor was Patrick Stewart. Now it would be a bit awkward for him to be in Doctor Who, wouldn't it?

I think a 'tough actor' could play the doctor, but I feel that it would go against his whole vibe. The Doctor is a certain type of person, male or female. I always liked to be proven wrong and have an amazing series despite my worries. Daniel Craig became arguably the most iconic Bond and he was blue eyed and much 'tougher' looking.

I remember during Capaldi's run there was an April's Fools article claiming that Danny Pink was actually the Doctor and that Capadi's Doctor was actually the Master this whole time pretending to be the doctor. To date it is the only April Fools gag I remember being disappointed wasn’t true, because the thought of the Master mascerading as the Doctor for a whole series for a rug pull would’ve been an interesting twist. And Capaldi could’ve made an enticing version of the villain too.

As sad as I am when it's announced a Doctor Who actor is stepping down from the role, (Every Doctor Who actor,) I do enjoy the insanity of the replacement desires and speculations that happen. Hugh Laurie? Stephen Fry? Eddie Redmayne? Jessica Biel? Plus many more. A personal favorite (rumor he started... on April 1st) Bruce Campbell. As always thank you so very much all for the videos. I also appreciate some of the "turned the role down" or not chosen. (I'm still bitter that Joanna Lumley didn't get it.)

I think a James Earl Jones-voiced Omega could be cool, but I agree that it’s pretty unlikely. I’ll tell you who I *would* like to see in the role: Eric Roberts. And don’t even explain it.

The one thing that New Who is missing and that Old Who had is exactly these other (Ellie calls them B-list) Time Lord villains. We got close with the dream guy and another couple of characters, but it never came to be. Don't get me wrong, I'd always love to get more Master, but a different Time Lord with an entirely different mindset would be interesting, too. Either the Rani (played by an Indian actress, maybe?) or the Monk would be cool, but an entirely new, original Time Lord who presents him/herself as neither ally nor necessarily enemy would be my pick.

So, (checks notes) this may be another long one... Jason Statham as the Doctor - even though he's British, this sounds like an Americanized version, and a hard pass for me. Harriet Jones has been the subject of rumors lately, with Russell himself saying he thinks she survived. I think it does a disservice to her character. She went out in the best possible way, defiantly staring down her killers, knowing that her efforts had helped to defeat them. It was one of the most British moments in the history of the show. Slipknot performing the theme - as part of a compilation of various artists performing music from the show, I'm all aboard. That would be fantastic. Actually in the show, another hard pass for me. I feel like James Earl Jones may be too old. In his recent contributions to Star Wars, I've heard the age in his voice. Possibly it could work for Omega. But isn't there another actor who has been performing the role for Big Finish? None other than Doctor Who alum Brian Blessed? Why not just have him do it live? Britney Spears... Oh, rumor mill, you never disappoint. How emphatically can I say this? No, just... no, nope, nyet, nein, I used to be able to say "no" in eighteen languages, though it was a bit of a cheat, since probably thirteen of them were simply "no"... but why would you even...
