Warm waterproof snow boots are a must for us! Woollen socks as well if you spend extended time outside. Nice heeled boots are only used if the weather is not snowy on that day so you can be sure you don’t wipe out.
@@HB7c sounds warm! If you don't mind, what brand wool socks do you use, & what company do you purchase them from? The ones I find in the US are wool & other fibers, & they don't do a good job of keeping feet warm.
@@mariabarnes9197 I have ordered mine from a Canadian shoe store named SoftMoc. It’s the Duray brand and it’s also a mix of 50% wool with other fibres. I’ve also purchased wool blend socks for me and my girls at a nearby Marshall’s since they have many this time of year. Just don’t put them in the dryer.
I found openwardrobe through your channel. Its been a life changer. I was forever buying things hoping they'd be right. I'm impulsive and would never wait for the perfect item. Which meant I had a ridiculous amount of clothes, yet nothing to wear! But since using openwardrobe I have decluttered my wardrobe and only purchased one item. I never have days with 'nothing' to wear. I even managed a weekend away and night out without buying anything new. Love your channel, thank you 😊
As always, your videos are so helpful! You have inspired me to “Use Less” and to be mindful of my purchases. I have been creating a functional and great capsule wardrobe based on your recommendations. Keep in mind I am a 58 years old woman. Thanks again Signe.
I love OpenWardrobe and discovered it through your channel. It has been an absolute game changer for me with my style and stops me impulse buying around the holidays when there are sales on! I’m very much a visual person so putting together outfits to see if they work without buying them has been great. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💜
Hi Signe, just wanted to thank you for this video which is so helpful 😊Your tip to layer a thin down coat underneath a wool one has been such a game changer for me. I also now use faux sheepskin insoles in my shoes/boots which keep your feet toasty and prolong the season for trainers. Love from England where it is super 🥶 atm! X
Wow, it's amazing that the faux sheep skin liners keep your feet toasty. They really don't work for me. Instead, they make my feet sweat, & leave them cold.
Hi Signe! I would probably add a fleece top to this list. It's one of my must haves for outdoor activities with kids - very soft, lightweight and keeps me warm. I don't have a thin puffer jacket as I don't like extra sleeves under my main jacket, but puffer vest does the job for me. Thank you for your videos - they are very inspiring.
I personally bought in addition to my puffer long jacket another long winter coat to keep my legs warm also. Very useful through the winter. It’s not the thickest maybe for -20 C but it’s loose enough that I wear under it thick wool sweaters which I have at least three in my wardrobe and under the sweaters long sleeved shirt. The layers keep me warm and I don’t freeze outside. I live in Estonia, so lots of snow here, like recently it dropped all down from the sky. 30-50 cm snow. Beautiful but enjoyable when you are dressed warm! 😊 On and also, good to keep covered and in warm a hip area, not to freeze it.😊
Hey Signe, for gloves try Coach. They had them 30 percent off for Black Friday, so they'll maybe go on sale again after Christmas- great quality and value
❤Thanks for sharing. It is quite hard to stay warm and look stylish but you've got it mastered. Love the green mango coat. It's so clean-looking. Thanks again and have a great day. ❤
I have a pair of wool gloves with leather palm from Nordstrom going on 35 years. They are still my go to casual gloves (I am many pairs of ski, mountaineering, winter hiking gloves, mittens, and liners). I wear hats and beanies all year round but love winter time beanies the most because they are inexpensive and add colors to my face. I bought a pair of down lined pants from Amazon recently. They are wind and water proof and really warm. I can wear them hiking and around town. Before I would wear my skin pants when winter hiked but ski pants are not comfortable around town.
OW sounds great ,thank you for sharing, Signe! Could you perhaps do a more in-depth tutorial on how to make the best use of it. I started taking pics of my clothes today, but not sure how to make it work easily yet....thank you! Have a happy 2023.
I always love your content. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos. 😊 I also wanted to thank you for always being transparent when a video contains paid content, by clearly showing it on the thumbnail. To me, this is very rare and shows immense respect to your followers. I wish others would follow your example. Wishing you and your family all the best for the Festive Season! ❤️🎄
I live in the California desert and our winter is mild and I noticed this season is a bit chillier early on. I pulled out my puffer jacket and it’s olive green 😕 this video sure did help me see I don’t need a new jacket, just some fresh ideas on how to style it…LOLOLOLOL ‼️Thank you I have some fresh options in my head now. I should probably download that app too 😉❤
Hi Signe, thank you for another inspiring video and for all the content you create! Just a quick tip on leather gloves, mine are from COS and I've had them for years now and they still look amazing and are super warm. They bring them our every year :) Enjoy the festive season, have lot's of laughs with your little ones eyes, and can't wait for the next video ❤ Take care, Katerina
wool blend socks, preferably with cashmere. Combined with a good thermal insole they completely cancel the need for boots with with warm lining. they are pricier than "normal" socks (look for them during the winter or summer sale and you'll get a bargain) but with decent care they will last several seasons. my Falke ones are on their 3rd winter currently and almost as good as new. Sadly i can't seem to find the exact same style this year anymore, but COS have come out with something similar so I'll be checking those out.
Hi.Great selection of items.I got my gloves from Ternua as my hands are super cold always. They have a nice selection of clothes for outdoors, trekking, etc. Thank you!
Hi Signe! I love your style journey. I'd add a caramel or brown wool wrap coat to the winter capsule. There are affordable options for every budget. Given that there are no buttons, it gives clean lines and allows for layering and textures. Happy holidays.
@@abcabc2211 It's a simple coat with a belt, no buttons. If you search "wrap coat," you will see examples. Max Mara has a "slurge" version and Uniqlo has an affordable one. Unfortunately, I don't know of a sustainable option which I'd like to see. Hope that helps.
I feel the same as you about black. as I get older I don't find black appealing anymore. I used to love navy blue, in fact it is my power colour. I always feel confident in navy. but nowadays I found it a bit awkward. its funny how things change 😳 now I treat black and navy as my accent colour. I like them to be minimal in my outfit
Hej Signe, being Danish I am sure you know Rhanders Handsker. If not I will go as far as saying that is a huge mistake 😉 I am also Danish but definitely not a minimalist. I picked up a pair of their absolutely beautiful gloves in the black Friday sale a couple of weeks ago. Rhanders Handsker is a luxury brand but definitely worth the money in my opinion 👌
Regarding gloves, I recommend the brand Rifò Lab from Italy. They recycle cashmere and the gloves look and feel great. I happened to lose them twice and ordered my third pair this year. :-)
Absolutely loved this video and your style!! Definitely agree with the gloves! I prefer buying vintage gloves as they’re nicely worn in. I would recommend Dents or Aspinal of London for gloves. Where do you sell your old clothing?
Thank you for your video content. These will be helpful especially when packing for Christmas in Chicago this year. We are going to be walking quite a bit and 20-30's°F temperatures are expected. ❤️
@@mariabarnes9197 yes, born and raised nearby so that wind off Lake Michigan can be cold! 🥶However, the Windy part also has applied to the politicians there. 😉
Thanks for these tips Signe. You mentioned that you would like to sell your puffer coat. Could you recommend some good online places to sell great condition clothes from non luxurious brands?
I've sold unworn clothes on Vestiaire Collective as I find it super easy, but the fee is quite high (because they take care of shipping labels etc.). I use Trendsales otherwise but it's a Danish/scandinavian site. But maybe Vinted or Depop, I think those are very popular options for outside of Denmark. Hope that helps!
Hi Signe would you mind saying where thr striped top you are wearing is from? Looks like Sezane? I have been enjoying your channel for s long time now. Thank you
Singe I know this is weird but... I would really love to see “going to the playground” capsule to look good but child proof. What do you think about it. I only see people in sweat pants or yoga pants where I live
