I love this comment, because before the original WhatCulture team left, everyone thought Simon was the WORST and always complained that Simon was doing videos.
Fastlane 2017 was far worse than Backlash 2018. I mean really there was really bad decisions on that show. Roman pinning Braun for the first time ever, Charlotte losing her first ppv right before wrestlemania, KO losing his universal championship to Goldberg in a glorified squash. It was one of the worst ppvs in wwe history.
Oooh Kingslayer the matches weren’t that bad though. Reigns-Strowman was a great match. And Charlotte-Bayley was a good match. They just fucked the endings. It was just an average show with a shit ending.
I think WrestleMania IX gets a bad rap for having one really bad match, and then for Hogan's bullshit use of creative control, on what was otherwise a serviceable PPV.
WM XI is worse. Mania 9 has a really good match with Luger & Perfect, Steiners vs Headshrinkers is good, and HBK vs Tatanka is DECENT. I can't even say nearly as many good things about Mania 11. There's damn near nothing worth watching there.
yeah . . . the only good match on WrestleMania 9 (to me at least) was Headshrinkers/Steiner Brothers. Double bonus that Bill Alfonso was the ref for that match
Clash of Champions was a pretty good ppv if u dont count what happend the next on smackdown Jinder had the best match of his career agaisnt Styles and yes was a good match KO and Zayn vs Orton and Nakamura was a pretty good match without sense, but apparently was leading to Bryan vs Shane at wm The fatal 4 way for the sd tag team titles was good Charlotte vs Natalya was pretty solid And Ziggler pulled the shock win of the night after everybody thought his was getting the pin The only bad part was breezango being squashed by 2B after all the momentum they had
O Aleatorio the styles vs jinder match was garbage KO and Zayn vs nakamura and Orton while not bad was random, Charlotte vs natalya was like the terrible reboot of the match at extreme rules and don’t get me fucking started on breezango vs 2b. The only good part was the fatal 4 way tag match
Taking Sabu out of the Extreme EC was straight stupid. Who else was in this match? Test? Hardcore Holly? I like Test but they had no business in that match. Sabu would've delivered the high spots that could've carried this match. WWE wanted that ppv to fail so bad
This list could literally be filled with nothing but pg era ppvs, I love the fact that this channel tries their hardest to make it seem like their indie darlings aren't failures
All the talent in the world means nothing if you're forced to work at half speed and have your promos be forcibly scripted in a way that's unnatural and uninteresting. If you took the biggest stars of the 80s and 90s and gave them these same kinds of restrictions, there's no way they would have gotten over.
As there are supernatural and demonic things involved with Jason, it is not known if Jason really even had a character and personality anymore save for that of a mute stalking murderer. However, it did seem that he must have had some residue of his humanity left in him thought it being that of a child. Jason was known to grunt when injured heavily. He revered his mother as she was the only person that showed him true love in his childhood. After her death, he constructed a crude altar in the shack where he lived with his mother's head at the center to which he placed his victims at the foot of it, as though it were a human sacrifice, demonstrating that he had some beliefs. Ginny Field, knowing the story of him and his mother used the child persona against him to trap him in order to kill him to protect herself from further harm. Tommy Jarvis as a child also used the child persona against him by making himself look like Jason did as a child, in order to trap him like Ginny had once done to save his sister. Both attempts to use the child persona against him were successful.
Actually over the limit 2010 was really bad , where almost every wrestler on that card got injured. Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, and Batista were all injured
Both of them are really just average at best. Just Backlash had the shock of Jinder winning. CoC didn’t have that shock. I would say Battleground 2017 should have been no.10.
tcasper961 Actually, Backlash Was Worse. You Did Have A Good Tag Match, But The Rest Of The Show Was Boring. AJ & Owens Had A Bad Match, Corbin vs Nakamura Was Boring, Cena vs Rusev Was Too Long & The Main Event Was Too Predictable. Really Boring Show That Had No Affect On SmackDown
Fastlane 2017 must be the worst of 2017. Meltzer rated Battleground as the worst, but admitted that Fastlane was a worthy contender. For something no one wants to be worthy of ofc - be the worst show of the year.
Lutfur Rahman maybe I'm in the minority here but I kind of liked the ending of Cena versus Truth. Truth getting distracted by a fan and reverting back into the personality he had been fighting against and that costing him was a brilliant touch.
AJ Styles retained against Jinder not regained, plus Clash of Champions wasn't even that bad, it wasn't good but it's definitely not in the bottom 10 out of EVERY ppv...
I was so psyched to see Sabu compete in an Elimination Chamber match.....and then he was replaced at the last minute by Hardcore Holly. I was so pissed! I seriously considered contacting WWE for a refund on this terrible PPV that I just bought. Especially since the main thing that attracted me to the show was Sabu. I have never been so frustrated with WWE and their booking in my life.
December To Dismember is so bad that even the Everything Wrong With version is hard to watch. Granted, we shouldn't exactly have a lot of hope for a PPV that's full of impromptu matches.
Surprised they battleground 2013, survivor series 2015, and wrestlemania 32 was not on here. (Although I don’t think WM 32 deserves it. I just know it got a negative response from a lot of fans)
Mark Michel I’d honestly say SS 2013 was worse than 2015. At least 2015 was well built up, even with the god-awful ending. And I’d take Reigns-Ambrose over Orton-Big Show any day.
I don't hate WrestleMania 32. Survivor Series 2015 was a Goddamn flop, but if you want an emotional moment, Undertaker's entrance is all open for you. As for Battleground 2013... Well.. anyways, bland, flop and only good thing was the feelgood win for the Rhodes.
I knew Backlash 2018 was going to be here. Almost bought a ticket to see that trainwreck at the Pru in Newark, and I'm glad I didn't. What a dumpster-fire!
OohDanOne well it's a list about the worst ppv's, it's not like they made this list just to talk about December to Dismember, they were probably just inspired to make the list because of how bad backlash was
Julian Torres it’s literally so shit I actually skip all the women matches and even the promo scenes too. Like women have no place in wrestling they need to be in the kitchen making me a sandwich or they can tussle with my big 8incher if they want something to wrestle
i forgot clash of champions 2017 existed honestly remember aj taking the belt off of jinder on a random smackdown in novmber oh yeah that's right that was where dolph won his us championship i remmber that much at least
Da'Bones Have you been? The Royal Rumble was great, and the two rumbles were two of the best in history. Elimination Chamber was an average PPV, Fastlane was easily the best Fastlane PPV so far. The first 3-4 hours of Wrestlemania were fantastic, and we had some awesome matches and great moments. Backlash was shit, but every year has a shit PPV. We have also had some amazing TV matches. Plus NXT has been phenomenal.
William Sutton the nakamura aj styles has been shite reigns vs lesnar is boring and still has no conclusion asuka is just floating around so is ember moon and wasted they are
Mymusic 1998 So two bad feuds make the year terrible? And Asuka is in the title scene, and Ember has been booked very strong since coming onto the main roster.
This was a good list. I’m glad Wrestlemania 9 wasn’t on here. It wasn’t a masterpiece but it was really easy to sit through (way better than 11, 15, 27, 29, and 32). Plus, nothing tops the abomination of December to Dismember. It was like watching someone get circumcised in slow motion.
With the garbage that has been churned out in recent times, I’m amazed anything pre 2001 is on there. Maybe it’s the nostalgia in me but I’d prefer to see WM XI again than watch the drivel they have put out in the last three years in particular.
RVD, CM Punk, Test, Hardcore Holly, Bobby Lashley, and The Big Show sounds like the most random list of names pulled from a hat rather than an actual match that happened for real.
I think it was the catalyst that showed the Survivor Series format didn't quite work anymore. Even in 97, the Survivor Series Elimination Matches were the low points of the show, even without the screwjob. 98 didn't have SSE matches at all, so we then get to 99 where we try to bring it back. The only thing that made them work was the excellent tag team scene we had at the time (namely the Hardy's, E&C, Dudleys, Acolytes, Too Cool, and more).
K1productions Sometimes the Elimination Matches have been terrible but that's the whole reason for the name of the PPV. If they got rid of that format it would be just another PPV with matches on it. I understand what your saying though.
Well any PPV that has Kurt Angle competing can't be bad by definition. Funny too you brought up his turning heel. I loved Angle the moment he came to WWE. Probably a mix of his old school wrestling style and attitude (wink), but when he turned heel it just made me root for him more.
Abir Hasan You dumb fuck, actually read what your about send to the internet, especially if your correcting someone when you didnt even get the ppv right.
I think Survivor Series 1999 would of been a good PPV if Stone Cold was part of the main event instead of Big Show. I know he had a neck injury but I think he should of waited until after Survivor Series to take time off.
KOTR 1999 > KOTR 2000 I didn't mind Billy Gunn winning because as a youngster it was surprising seeing a different guy getting that kind of push at the time and Gunn's matches while short weren't that bad. Also the ending to Austin/McMahon ladder match while silly, the match itself was still fun to watch. Then you have KOTR 2000 which had one of the worst and most painful matches ever ala Gerald Brisco vs. Pat Patterson in the nightgown hardcore match which killed and annoyed the crowd with Crash Holly being the only saving grace to end that trash match at the end. Then you have the main event that had a 6 man tag team match in which whoever scored the pin on someone including your own teammate would become the champion? That was terrible, it lead to people's teammates screwing up pin covers the entire night on both sides and took away from what could have been a great match by literally booking any other match except a 6-Man Tag with the belt on the line. Whose bright idea was that?!?! Not to mention we also had Crash Holly vs Bull Buchanon!
It’s not bad in terms of wrestling tho. Just entertainment, since most of the jokes aren’t funny, they rarely make good storylines and it isn’t going well. Smack down was nice tho
1:05 this video combines everything you love about ads as well as interruptions, as now WC not only shills the subscribe button before we even see if the video is good (most of us are already subscribed anyway) but now we get ads within our videos that we get ads before.
I liked KOTR 1999, first WWE PPV I ever seen. Xpac was the one I wanted to win, but Billy was a close second. The worst PPVs that you missed, Backlash 2002, Survivor Series 2015, MITB 2017, Battleground 2013 and SummerSlam 2010
C'mon, WM31 was great compared to what it could've been. Daniel Bryan becomes Grand Slam champion, that epic RKO, Seth cashing in and a good match between Lesnar and Reigns. Admittedly it had bad parts like Sting VS Triple H and the 20 minute Rock and Rousey segment but it was a pretty good show. Not the best but pretty good.
I just realized that Backlash 2018 and December to dismember have a lot common. Both had opening matches that were good, both had under card matches that weren’t that good, and they both had a main event with an over pushed guy winning.
I was at in your house 4. October 1995. The product was at its lowest ebb but the crowd was very grateful to have a ppv (Winnipeg) very loyal crowd and the largest the wwf had in a long time I might add
Did he say Dean Douglas lost the IC title to Shawn Michaels at In Your House 4? ...Because he got it when Michaels relinquished the belt, then lost it to Razor Ramon.
i think that the 2000-2014 period of wwe was really good.It has many good characters that help it be good, such as kane, triple h,undertaker, chris benoit, randy and i can keep going.Golden era. Before and after this period it was and is not so enjoyable as then.
Not sure if there was already a video about this a while back, but how about doing a “sequel” to this topic: “10 Worst WCW PPVs Ever”? Would seem fair to do.
I would put Wrestlemania 2 as the worst “Showcase of the Immortals.” Side note. I live in Augusta, GA. About 10 years ago I was pumped to go to a real ECW show. Visions of the two “One Night Stands” danced in my little heart. I left...disappointed.
Yo Simon hope you feel better! I'm surprised you didn't put in No Way Out 2003! TRIPLE H VS SCOTT STEINER WAS THE WORST PPV I'D SEEN IN MY LIFE at that point
Just a small correction at the 2.02 mark, AJ Styles didn't regain the WWE World Heavyweight title at Clash of Champions 2017, he retained the title. This is because Jinder lost the title on an episode of Smackdown, I believe that was on the 7th November 2017. After that AJ went on to face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
