It should be noted that it wasn't just Batista who got fined, Jericho, Malenko (the agent of the match), and the referee were all fined. And Batista paid for everyone's fines.
Honorable mentions: -Baron Corbin for staying in character on Twitter -Matt Hardy for being cheated on by Lita -Daniel Bryan for being too realistic on his Raw debut -Rusev and Lana for getting engaged
Once again, the ONLY reason they say "medical facility" rather than nearby hospital / clinic is to avoid those hospitals getting phone calls from fans. And pretty sure its being a TV show, they probably need permission from any hospital to mention its name and most likely have to do some extra paper work.
lovelywaz they could just say hospital - that doesn’t signal anything. They could refer to the ‘wrestler’ receiving medical care. They don’t say hospital because Vince doesn’t want anyone to know just how badly some wrestlers can get hurt. It’s the same as going off on a wrestler for bleeding if they get a ‘real’ cut. It’s not like the ring is made out of tissue.
“VINCE MCMAHON ISNT OUT OF TOUCH CUZ...CUZ... STROWMAN!” If this video doesn’t convince you that Vince needs to leave and has been out of touch from (at least) as early as 06/07, you need to go back to your cradle because you’re too young to be watching WWE/RU-vid.
I honestly think Vince should've retired at least 7 years ago. How can a 70+ years old man with a strange brain run the biggest wrestling company in the world ? Its true that WWE woudl've never been what it is today without him but still.........Vince is getting old and his mind is getting more and more twisted
Wait .... hold it now. They fired Jim Ross because they miss took his bells paulze for being drunk and that decision was brought up by sponsors but the sponsors didn't say anything when Vince was humiliating JR because he had bells paulze why didn't they step in and say we don't want that on tv
I believe with the Punk incident he was told to start wearing a suit in public because he was the champ, to which he refused and said to Taker something like "Cena doesn't have to wear a suit everywhere so why should I?" which prompted the title loss and borderline burial
Great video! I remember watching the Paul London thing in real time. I was a London fan. It seemed like overnight (which in retrospect it WAS) he was jobbing out pretty shamelessly to everyone. Also, is Dollar Shave Club Simon's new day job??? Pretty epic shill! If Simon's head is any indication of Shave Club's efficacy though those razors must be SHARP!!!
Chase Wood But there's absolutely no reason why the ad can't be at the end. Video ends, you close it before the annoying ad starts. Now I have to fast forward? It's dumb. The advertiser just cares that the ad is in the video. Shouldn't matter when it plays.
Chase Wood Lately for me whenever I try and skip over ads it's starting to not let me. It's rather annoying and making me not want to watch RU-vid anymore.
I remember reading shortly after it happened, that Brooke Adams (Miss Tessmacher in TNA) was fired from WWE after a Diva Costume Battle Royal for wearing furry boots, which were seen as Melina's gimmick.
Never understood why Vince has problems with certain terms nowadays. One of my favorite quotes from Stone Cold Steve Austin was from the press conference before Wrestlemania 14 - "That damn belt is comin' with Stone Cold, rather you like it or not, I really don't care".
The thing about "title shot" vs "title match" reminnds me of WCW where they were accidentally forced by corporate to refer to foreign objects as "international objects."
Hold on there needs to be some clarification here. I like Paul London, but smiling during that one segment wasn't the only issue. He apparently acted very immature backstage which pissed a lot of people off and towards the end of his run, he broke Gregory Helms's nose at a house show due to pure carelessness. That incident was the last straw.
Paul London didn’t get fired for that. He actually won the World Tag Team Championship with Brian Kendrick AFTER the smiling incident. He got injured, returned, Kendrick turned on him then he got released.
Titus O'Neil took that suspension like a champ, didn't bitch or complain, just did his time. Some people would've trashed Vince McMahon online and end up losing their job.
#6) From what I heard it wasn't a year, and it wasn't even taken to wrestlers court. Benoit just grabbed his (The Miz) bag and threw it in the hall. Cut to after Benoit was dead. Miz didn't know what to do, cause the person who bans you has to invite you back, so he kept changing elsewhere. Someone (can't remember who, maybe 'Taker) was like "Hey, how come you're not changing with us?" Pretty sure they forgot by then...
The Batista situation was a little different than how you told it. Jericho interviewed him on his podcast. Batista was not the only one fined. Jericho and the ref, Earl Hebner I believe, we're also fined. The animal actually payed all of the fines because he didn't think it was right to punish Jericho and especially the ref, who was fined relatively heavily considering they don't make near what the superstars do. All three fines totaled over $200k, I think he said $220k to be exact. Also, I thought he said he bled hard way, letting Jericho actually hit him with a section of lead pipe.
CM Punk actually did comment on the suit incident. He said he basically told the Undertaker off and was confused since Undertaker himself almost never wore a suit, nor did most wrestling champions. He suspects there was some ulterior motive (as in, someone like Triple H or Vince putting 'Taker up to it), though imo it could also have been a rib that got out of hand when Undertaker disliked Punks reaction. Whether that alone is the reason he lost the belt is anyones guess I think however.
Fun fact: The miz continued to dress in the public restroom after Benoit died out of respect he felt it was only right that the person who punished him is allowed to let him back in. After persuasion from the undertaker and with his locker room status amongst the company the undertaker told him he could go back to the locker room.
The other half of the Miz story has a sad turn. Traditionally, when you're thrown out of the locker room, the wrestler who gets you thrown out has to be the one to ask you back. Mix was thrown out by Chris Benoit, and Chris...was not around to rescind the punishment. So Miz KEPT changing in the restroom for far longer than the proscribed period, out of respect for the tradition. Undertaker found out about it, appreciated the note of respect, and personally invited Miz back to the locker room. It gave more than a few folks a sign that Miz was way more serious about the business than he'd previously been given credit for.
Paul London wasn't fired for smiling. He was fired for breaking kayfabe. Everyone was told to treat the situation as a serious situation, and Paul London made light of the situation. Yes, he did that by smiling in particular, but it could have been anything that wasn't exactly what he was supposed to be doing. Backstage is one thing. But when the cameras are rolling, you need to stay in character.
miller-mania is running wild all over the dam place and its f*&$%ng awesome!!! if you guys know whats good for the channel then you'll continue to let miller-mania continue to run wild and feed all the miller-maniacs!!!
If you watch London and Kendrick’s shoot interview, you’ll see that they were forced by other wrestlers to take bets on when Melina would cry (London won) it wasn’t their idea, they weren’t hurling the insults
An honorable mention is the constant jobbing of MVP after he mouthed off to the doctors during a wellness test. His punishment? Him jobbing on air for about a month or 2 straight, and he jobbed to Funaki.........TWICE! SMDH...
Upsetting the sponsors is likely one of the worst thing one could do while being in WWE. Vince REALLY wants to make more of that precious money and upset sponsors mean the opposit of that.
Re: Jim Ross. The spokesman for 2K Sports has gone on record in saying that they had no problem with the panel and the entertaining conference gave the game more buzz because of it. I point my finger solely at Vince here.
The 60 day suspension really isn’t that bad. Bryan was retiring, that was an absolutely devastating day for him and Titus was trying to mess around and have fun. It’s fine if you’re good buddies with your boss but you don’t mess around with him when people outside the company are watching.
Booted out immediately...a year later? So, what you're saying is that London continued to be ignored by WWE before eventually being released as a cost cutting measure? That's not getting fired for smiling, that's WWE continuing to have no idea what to do with The Intrepid One.
