8hunna it correlates but like acts like Primo and Epico didn’t NEED the repackaging from their first natural high flying ways they just were given bad stuff. A lot of these people has BAD stuff
Man, if you ever met Big Vis in person, he'd be nowhere near this list. Utter class act and fantastic to talk to, not to mention he was a solid hand in the ring.
Albert was screwed over by booking. He lost far too many matches to ever get over, and then when he wasn't over they put him in a faction with X-Pac when X-Pac heat was becoming a thing.
Agreed, bloom has the most talent out of the majority of heavyweights at the time, yet they chose to showcase the Nathan Jones and Matt Morgans during that era
Billed weights and actual weights are 2 different things though isnt it? I wonder what they all actually weigh. Do u think kishi was 400ibs? Or show was 500? I'd love to know if they exaggerated it or not
Simon, did you take a chair shot over the weekend? Viscera was MUCH larger then 300lbs. maybe its the whole kilos to pounds thing. 300 lb is 21 stone 4.
@@JenGM24 yeah that decade more of employment he got out of it what a dummy. Being the head trainer of a billion dollar companies development program what a doofus he could be on the indies right now wrestling a ninja turtle for 500$.
I think he suffered from the fact that they had guys like Brock and Big Show around basically occupying the roles Albert would’ve occupied. A shame because even then he reminded me a bit of Vader (loved his matches with Benoit in 03), but he just didn’t stand out as the 3rd string big man on Smackdown.
Viscera !?! 6”6 300 , closer to 500 Simon . But only commenting because the standard for the channel is so high , especially your segments so mostly love your work.
test and billy gunn. both can wrestle they have the look , the height the only thing i can say why they didn't got big was they were too close to hhh. well at least they are learning from their mistake look at what they are doing with drew now. if you wanna push a guy just go all in. if it fails it fails if it's a success then you've got yourself a super star.
I'd say Ken Shamrock, but ya i agree Test is in that catagory. British Bulldog too. He had all the tools, & was for damn sure no Lex Lugar. Imagine the Bulldog vs. The Rabid Wolverine Chris Benoit. Practically the reincarnation of the Dynamite Kid of the late 90s. Yep we should've gotten a Wrestlemania match of Triple H vs. Test last man standing, Stone Cold vs. Ken Shamrock no holds barred, & British Bulldog vs. Chris Benoit steel cage
I'll say it if no one else will- Baron Corbin. They gave him the Andre Battle Royal. Didn't get over. They gave him MITB. Didn't work. They gave him Kurt's retirement. Nope. They gave him KOTR. He's getting dog food dumped on him by Roman Reigns.
it's what wrestling does to the body, wwe should really treat their workers better, if you haven't, you should watch john oliver talk about wwe and how they sorta shit on their wrestlers, it's really interesting
Especially when you consider the wrestlers referenced in this video. The title of this vid comes off as disrespectful and mean spirited on What Culture's behalf as if some of the guys on their list was completely ignored by the WWE fans and I assure you that isn't the case at all
Price Albert, A-Train, Tensai has found his niche as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center. He appears happy there SO I DON'T feel TOO sorry for him. Mabel, Viscera got WAY TOO many chances. He was dangerous in the ring. The facial injury he gave to The Undertaker was REAL and NOT kayfabe. TEST was a BIG screw up by VKM / WWE. He could've had a MUCH better run with JUST good booking and less lazy Creative Writing. SAD that he died so young.
I think Simon misunderstood the premise of his own video. A gimmick is not the same as a chance. Brutus had too many gimmicks, The Miz, Baron Corbin, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Jeff Hardy too many chances. There is a difference.
@@fliper4568 I didn't critique their individual runs, I said they had too many chances - like when they tried with Miz as WWE Champion and he not only sucked but was an afterthought in his own 'Mania match.
@@outis439-A I didn't say they failed, I said they had too many chances, there's a difference. Nash had the original six moves of doom and sucked as Champion and Hall was drunk for most of his career.
If we’re talking too many chances and not gimmicks Triple H certainly has to be number one even into semi-retirement he’s had a rumble win a world title win multiple matches against undertaker and wrestlemania main events.
I remember Tensai's debut match when WWE hyped him up and the crowd was dead silent. Like, dude generated NOTHING. Not even heel heat or even fuckin' X-Pac heat, just killed a theater, which I think was far worse.
I think if they built up Jinder just a little slower he would have went over a lot better, but he was always one of the wrestlers I gave a pass because he worked extremely hard behind the scenes unlike what most know, he made himself look more believable. I hope he gets another chance eventually.
@@paullaing5921 The man had great agility and could move pretty good for a 500 pounder. Yes, he was too heavy but I'm sad because he had greatness written for him!
1. Roman Reigns 2. Roman Reigns 3. Roman Reigns 4. Roman Reigns 5. Roman Reigns 6. Roman Reigns 7. Roman Reigns 8. Roman Reigns 9. Roman Reigns 10. Roman Reigns
@@VeganStories Dude, that don't make any sense- if somebody had no spine, there ain't no way in hell they could ever actually stay upright to have erect posture. Just saying...
He was in Wade's Nexus too briefly, after Tarver was released and Young split from the group. I recall him being taken out backstage by Cena when he was steamrolling the members one-by-one, leading to his chairs match with Wade.
"Because he was 6'6 and 300 lbs..." I'm sorry, did you just describe Viscera as 300 lbs? The dude was an easy 450. I've seen men half his size who were over 300 lbs. EDIT: I guess a lot of comments have already mentioned this.
Roman Reigns is the biggest active star they have in the company oh, get some more RU-vid views and merchandise sells then most of the wrestlers on the roster oh, I think it's safe to say it worked out
@Sports Guy prove me wrong, go on WWE RU-vid page look it up for yourself. In fact look up Roman Reigns one versus all, also look up Roman Reigns attacks Triple H and tell me what superstar has more views on the current roster then those two videos I dare you
@@weltonvillegal6258 Lucky guy. I only saw the "30yrs of Reckless in 2014" here in Europe. But it was quite nice when Adams played Clarkes songs - oh, sorry, I meant: The songs which didn´t made it on the album then, but also were very good songs. (Also a title track named "Reckless")
nothing wrong with 'weird gimmicks' it's something that seriously lacking there days.. we only really have one gimmick in wwe at the moment while everyone are just themselves. Big one you left off the list Kama/godfarther he kept changing gimmicks every couple of years.
There was nothing wrong with “hair metal” either. But everyone knows it had it’s place, and there it forever should stay. In the same decade as most of the weird gimmicks.
@@AshBlossomWorshiper I never liked the Godfarther, although they should have teamed him up with Flash Funk at the time as he was pretty much doing the pimp thing.
Kronik were pretty cool, and a rare plus about WCW at that time. As far as Test goes, he really wasn't that bad at all. T&A were a good team, they were just unlucky that in 2000 the tag team roster was pretty stacked. Given that A Train was drafted to raw in 2004, and Trish turned heel that year, they could have always put them back together when she broke away from Christian and Tomko, or just had the 2 of them reform, given the division while decent wasn't as stacked as it was in 2000. He did a great job as a heel when he and Stacy broke up on screen as well.
Not sure how the WWE ever thought they would get over with those ridiculous gimmicks. I'm almost always correct at guessing which superstars won't last because of ridiculous gimmicks. (I called Adam Rose from day 1, and No Way Jose will follow or at least lose the stupid party gimmick)
The only thing wrong with Test was his name. He was never gonna get that over as a main eventer and would have flopped regardless of HHH. Always liked him though, and loved T & A
Draugre he also had a good record of not seriously hurting his opponents, it’s just his weight got too out of control to ever get back to the top, but o did enjoy his run with Owen as tag champs
Bro Viscera was fucking awesome. His issue was that he was booked to squash lower midcarders to build him up as a threat, only to get beat everytime. Umaga saw this same thing after his initial hype. Same with Henry, even after his first title win until he got respect finally as a talent. The man was a terrifying character, even with his Love Machine gimmick. They should have booked him the way they did Kane.
Yeah, I think that's what everyone expected. Sin Cara did botch moves early on, but he did get better. I remember watching videos of him as Mistico and when they announced he was coming to WWE, I thought they would do so. Also would've made sense because of the language barrier. Plus, you have to know how to book high flyers. Lucha Underground was great and knew how to book high flyers. Let us show off our moves and book us with guys that know how to make us look good. Teaming him with Rey at the beginning would've helped him by getting Rey's fans to latch onto him and then slowly move away and form his own unique style.
Viscera was probably really well respected backstage and was someone that could be a good first tv opponent for people later in his career probably repackaged just so he didn’t get bored
alwaysxnever He does other wrestlers talked about it. VADER thinks Vince didn’t like after telling him he didn’t want to be called “mastodon” and wanted to still be called Vader. So when Shawn complained about him Vince didn’t hesitate to demote him.
Simon, you’re not the only one with a bad experience with Brutus! I met him at some legends show like 8 years ago. Went up to meet him, picked the picture for him to sign... his phone rang, he answered it. Instead of telling me to hold on a second, he continued to sign the picture, push it towards me all while holding a conversation on his phone, didn’t even look up at me after signing the picture
Test was cool when he had long hair but once he got a hair cut he lost a credibility and he wasn't cool anymore he was just an average guy bad career move
No Disrespect to Vince but I Think Hes Screwed Him self Over, Just Look At What weve Got to Day Athletes Just Being Able To Do Olympics and Not Able To Sell their Gimmicks
@@realsitu6602 the superstars in NXT are great, everyone love them and their gimmicks are great but when they go main roster they just get turned into jobbers and worthless weak wrestlers and yeah your right that's why I prefer AEW to watch I only watch WWE if its a big event
@@newfacepaula Unless it's drug abuse or unprofessional conduct, it's not their fault. Most wrestlers aren't still on their first run, so anything negative about them is already known. If a promotion hires them anyway, that's on them for not paying attention.
This is a minor point, but Ed Leslie's original gimmick was simply Brutus Beefcake, which saw him packaged as a Chippendale knockoff. He gained the "Barber" part after assisting in the conclusion to a hair vs hair match.
