You know, on the Cody Rhodes rubber chicken incident, I half expect if Cody beats Roman at next Wrestlemania, that people shower the ring with rubber chickens as a weird homage to him.
I would honestly go out to that to throw my chicken in the ring. 2 reasons really, never understood Romans push and I like Cody. I|'m sure Roman has had good matches--but when seemingly 99.7% are interference based it gets obnoxious. IMO. And to me his skillset is boring as fluff INCLUDING his supermove which again more than a 3rd of the roster has a spear.
I really hope he doesn't win it. He's so generic, and this feels like a make-a-wish dream the WWE is granting him. Why would they reward a guy after he left and bet on the wrong company?
@@Shiny101 he didn't leave and bet on the wrong company. He left and bet on himself bc that old creep you get on your knees for never saw anyone in the Rhodes family as a star. Cody proved that old creep wrong when he became a star on his own.
The audience doing the “what” chant while Vince was inducting the Undertaker into the HOF comes to mind. I get it’s tradition to do it to McMahon but something like this is an exception
@gabemyers4516 I agree. It's weird he's getting some stale baby face sympathy push all because he left and bet on a company that didn't end up beating WWE and came crawling back
That Trish & Lita segment at MSG was insane. I remember watching it live & seeing the 2 communicate through tiny facial expressions. Trish trying to pretend the chants were for her, Lita looking like she was sbout to cry... truly compelling watch, really.
MSG was too brutal and cold going in on Lita to the point they made Trish break character, almost damn near saying "like, that is my REAL friend, so STFU!"... To say the least, they went even harder with the insults 😮😮😮
Lita honestly deserved it. The bullshit she pulled on Matt was unacceptable. She could have at least broken up with him beforehand, but no, she just decides to hop on Edge's Sword.
Also a more recent one was Finn’s promo to Seth Rollins and the crowd wouldn’t shut up singing Rollins’ theme song. Honestly could’ve been such a powerful promo from Finn.
@@turkishjanitor3666 To be fair to the fans, Albert had been with the WWE for like 10 years when they brought Bloom back to repackage him and act like he never existed prior to Lord Tensai. Bray barely existed as Husky Harris before becoming Bray.
I would honestly love if the chicken came back for that match, even if it was something as silly as Cody going "this is you, Roman. You are a chicken" and honking it in his face.
Yeah. Seeing Bret and Natalya get assaulted like that makes me mad. But seeing Dash Wilder/Cash Wheeler bop that moron in the face turned my frown upside-down.
At No Way Out 2001, near the end of the match between Triple H & Steve Austin, someone threw a can into the ring and hit Steve in the head. This was not only disrespectful, but also dangerous. Sometimes I wonder if the “fans” are really fans.
I'd honestly remove the rubber chicken from this list, since it was kind of funny and while it may have hurt the moment, I don't think it ruined it. On the other hand, when fans were counting down every single minute of the Iron Man Match at Extreme Rules between Ziggler and Rollins, that genuinely destroyed the moment and I think is more deserving of being considered a moment ruined by fans.
Through this whole list I was waiting for Pacitti to make the Royal Rumble buzzer noise at number one, like when the crowd ruined Seth and Dolph's iron man match. Then it didn't come, so I had to do it myself. Scared the hell out of the other people on the bus.
A lot of the fans in Pittsburgh did ruin the Ironman Match at Extreme Rules 2018. I was getting pissed off at them. I loved the match though & not half the crowd at PPG Paints Arena.
i mostly agree with this list for the3 most part maybe differing placements but 2 things. 1 i would say #3 is more on WWE because it was an objectively okay at best beslt design that just looked like a recolored WWE title. and 2 i do not know how the intercontinental iron timer match match diddnt come on this list with fans counting down anf buzzing on the end of every minute
I hope that if Cody beats Roman at Mania the fans shower Cody with rubber chickens lmfao. That shit would be hilarious to me to see Cody standing in the ring holding the belts while rubber chickens rain down around him like streamers.
the rubber chicken became the true star that night i say have him defeat Roman at Wrestlemania 40. it will be the culmination of that chickens story of triumphing over crap booking!
The rubber chicken perfectly highlights WWE blowing what could have been the biggest wrestlemania win since Daniel Bryan at WM30. They missed the moment and they can’t get it back.
You’re WAAAAY off, man: I think the rubber chicken actually enhanced the moment! The ABSURDITY of a Cody loss had its own visual proxy. And Cody even recognised this by integrating it into a promo. He knows there’s a follicle thin separation between comedy and pathos - and it is was a perfect encapsulation of WWE’s hubris (though I still think they made the right decision to keep the belt on Roman but the naysayers will realise when Cody finally wins at 40).
I thought we would see any show in the UK which Bayley performs at. Smackdown before MITB 2023 being a fantastic example. I was in the crowd and barely remembered there was a match on, too busy singing "Heeeeeey, Hey Bayley! Oo-Ah!" There was also Clash in The Castle 2022, or the segment on RAW where Charlotte couldn't speak over the Glasgow crowd, all the way back to her NXT days. I think WWE must think hard about whether they want Bayley to perform in the UK
WOW!! I can not believe that it has already been almost exactly 10 years since The Undertaker lost to Brock at Wrestle Mania 30. It seemed like it was just a few years ago, not a freaking decade.. Some fans at these shows are people that should not be allowed to go to ANY live events, they should just stay home and yell at their TV screens.
I really wish someone would tell WWE booking that, by having virtually every title defense by Reigns end with outside interference, makes him look even weaker than his part time schedule already does. Lesnar never needed it. And as political as Hogan was, at least his matches usually ended conclusively, even if it was only because his ego wouldn't allow anything else. The end result was that he looked like a strong champion, not some loser who lucked into a title and is only capable of keeping it by having his family run in every time the title is put on the line. As a result, the length of his title reign has become meaningless, and the title itself is becoming as important as the 24/7 title.
I know this list is only WWE moments, but I think an honorable mention should go to the back half of Cody’s AEW career. It doesn’t make sense. Even if he was booked a little weird with the TNT title he never did anything actually wrong. He gave us his best and so many people refused to take that. I would not be surprised if one of the reasons that he’s never told us why he left is because he doesn’t want to say that it’s partially our fault. Other than that pointless win over Brodie I don’t think he ever did anything to actually warrant us booing him every week.
Shit like this is why I think the thunder dome era was still here because “fans” don’t know how to act and don’t deserve to sit in live events or tapings really 🙄
only the hitman attacker, the ball, and the guy that attacked eddie were disrespectful. Like who tf cares about a single guy telling the undertaker he sucked, what a weird list they made
Gotta hard disagree on the rubber chicken there, Adam; it kinda emphasizes how dumb the choice was to extend the feud and for Cody to not finish the story. I think it's more prophetic of WWE's creative choices there than Cody himself.
Have to call BS on Lesnar vs Goldberg, that match was always going to suck no matter the reaction from the live audience, neither of them gave a toss long before they came out the curtain, both have said as much over the years.
