Seriously, it's so funny. They're literally always the bridesmaid in the wrestling world. Any earlier, they'd be decimated. Any later, and nobody would pay attention to them. Hard to believe that a company had such bad luck
At least from the rumor mill back then, Heyman made that offer knowing TNA wouldn't accept. And that, for whatever reason, he wanted to appear to be negotiating with TNA. Who knows what the truth is, though. But, I find it difficult to believe Heyman thought they'd actually accept! At least when they heard about the "no wrestlers over 40" stipulation! Thats a dealbreaker for any company.
@@Hatchbasic true but when AJ met and worked with him it went bad and he didn’t enjoy it so that’s why we would have lost like 2 years with AJ still in TNA
@@andrewhernandez6981 not really, only reason Styles hates Heyman is because he didn't stop Gallows and Anderson from leaving, which was literally beyond his control. Styles wasn't working with them yet so it would've been fine, especially if Heyman planned for him to be the face of the brand
With him kicking all the old guys out and focusing on young talent like aj styles and such I do wonder how tna would be now. I bet it would be big. Heyman does know how to book well at times.
I remember Edge saying in his return documentary that “another company” offered him a deal or where in talks with him after he Speared Elias at SummerSlam. Edge told Vince and Vince said “well, if your going to return it should be here” and Edge came back at Royal Rumble 2020 (the best Rumble return ever). Just think of it like this. If WWE never offered Edge that deal and Edge signed with AEW we could have got Omega vs Edge, Young Bucks vs Edge and Christian, Lucha Bros vs Edge and Christian, MJF vs Edge, Allin vs Edge and more. And with Punk, Danielson and Cole coming in as well. If I’m a causal wrestling fan I’m instantly moving to AEW to see the in ring return of Edge and Punk. WWE did a great job by signing Edge and have booked him quite well in my opinion, his feud with Rollins has been brilliant and Edge can still wrestle at a fantastic level. Paige is teasing a return. I wouldn’t be shocked if she does what Edge did and mentions how she could leave to go to AEW and ends up wrestling for WWE still, she posted on Twitter “January” and she has said her deal is up in June. Maybe we will see her in the 2022 Royal Rumble. Also, I believe AEW were talking to Batista around the time he was going back to WWE in 2019 and also I believe Aj Styes thanked the Young Bucks because he used AEW as a way to get a better deal with WWE and he said he wouldn’t have got that without AEW. I know this is about TNA but I couldn’t think of a better video to post this fun stuff.
@@liamhemstock2286 Even in terms of the best Royal Rumbles, it's certainly up there. The match had everything. Lesner destroying all the competitions before they even had a chance, Rey and New Day teaming up against Lesner and almost succeeding, then the amazing claymore kick by Drew to eliminate Lesner followed by the greatest return in wrestling history, Edge and a deserved winner at the end of it all. Combine that with a couple of other surprise returns like Shelton Benjamin and MVP, the Rumble match was entertaining from the first minute to the last.
Shelton along with Haas could have been great in 2010-11 period. Both in the tag team and singles division. Not as a major push but to put other talent over against good talent. Thought you would include Seth Rollins who was about to sign till Cornette told him not to.
The Edge story is a beautiful one when you consider the fact that Edge was forced to retire due to injury he could've avoided if he signed to TNA. Staying with the E may have caused his early retirement, but no one imagined he would come back. He could've signed to TNA for his comeback to shake of the ring rust with that light schedule, but he loved the E enough to not only come back and risk his physical health for the company, but have a memorable run that rivals his prime years. If that's not loyalty I don't know what is.
TNA would've been interesting under Heyman. No guys over 40 and he would have pushed younger guys like AJ, joe, jay lethal, motor city machine guns, nigel mcguinness (Desmond Wolfe), and of course Generation me (Young Bucks). This would have been an interesting what if in professional wrestling, and I think it would have changed some wrestlers futures. It would've been strange timeline in wrestling but in a good way.
The no one over 40 part caught my interest....I believe Kurt could still go but guys like Hogan Hall and Nash..the Nasty Boyz even Sean Waltman at that time? No I’m sure Paul would’ve kept guys who could still go and those who couldn’t would’ve got the boot.
@@Jnwboss That sounds like what would probably have happened, It was probably an oversimplified version of the idea to see If TNA would continue the talks or end it right there.
Paul Heyman could’ve been a personality on Total NonStop Action Wrestling and having if Jeff Jarrett was smart he would’ve allowed GFW to become a developmental brand for TNA.Ryback would be awesome to see in RyBack and allowing SilverBack to win the TNA World Title and Global Force Wrestling World Title.
They were called TNA when they were trying to sign everyone on the list, They are called impact now as they are basically a completely different company
Random idea but cultaholic or whatculture should do a video on the 20 best clotheslines ever, the list could be about wrestlers with best versions and random moments someone looks like they got decapitated 💯
People hate on Goldberg for still being in the ring. But it’s not his fault, if you’re 50+ years old and a company is willing to throw millions and millions of dollars at you for 10 second matches you do it. It was different back then because he could still technically work and work after that contract expired. Now he doesn’t have to worry about lowering his stock he’s over the hill and won’t get signed anywhere else after this to wrestle. He’s a smart man for taking these matches. You find another company willing to pay someone millions for 10 seconds of work at 50 years old and get back to me
I could have swore Goldberg was in TNA at one point because I remember watching an interview with him saying he didn't want to go back to wrestling because of the way WWE treated women at the time, and people in the comments said that they were more sexualized in TNA so it was dumb of him to say that because he had worked there
God as a former TNA fan, that Paul Heyman one was just so fucking frustrating. Imagine if they would've given Heyman the keys to the kingdom? Would've essentially just been HHH era NXT with ECW rowdyness. Man fuck Dixie Carter.
Actually TNA was the ones that offered Paul heyman 8% of the company if he came to impact. Heyman turned it down because he felt like Dixie WASN'T gonna give him full creative control because Hogan,Eric B, and Russo were there and did not wanna push young wrestlers like the x-divisioners they were too focused on the viewership and entertainment aspect more than than the pro wrestling and storyline aspect
Still upset I don't get to see that meat hook clothesline anymore, actually I'm even more upset that I ain't ever seen the Ryback JBL combination finisher "the meat hook clothesline from hell" which would be just 2 high powered clotheslines with a JBL pin to finish lol... Still wanna see it though
I believe Heyman would have turn TNA around. The only problem with TNA could not achieve was the ratings. They never managed to go above a 2.0 rating. Even if they sign all these possibilities that this Video mentioned they still could not get the ratings any higher. Hogan predicted on his debut on January 4, 2010 that TNA impact will get a 3.0 rating. That never happened.
I seriously don't get the appeal with Goldberg. He can't wrestle. He can't talk. Even in his prime, he was average at best and had to be carried in a match by a solid opponent. He's just a overhyped jacked up sell out. Don't know why people go nuts over him.
Totally agree hes like the dollar shops lesnar, brock can go and do real impressive shit but goldberg hes like updated ultimate warrior no idea why people went nuts for warrior either personally but they did.
@@rorythompson5410 Warrior was a product of different times. Kayfabe was still alive back then. If Goldberg was around back then, he would have been as big of a draw as Hogan maybe even bigger one. If you see Goldberg's matches around 2003-04 with the likes of Jericho and Triple H, you can see how he was phoning it in.
Rey mysterio should leave wwe and go to tna wwe are burying him there not putting the world championship on him and he is almost retiring soon thats a big boo to wwe from me
He was over at first, being like a modern, younger Goldberg, squashing opponents left and right. Ryback could have been the next big star if he was a lot safer and a bit better in the ring.
