10 Year Marriage to a Filipina Ends in Disaster 

I met my American husband in the Philippines and we've been married for 29 years. I grew up in Subic bay. The first thing I asked my husband when I moved to the US was to learned how to drive, so I did and got my license. I started working. After few years I went back to college and got a degree in Nursing. US has so many opportunities and I am proud to earn money. My husband helped my family before but now he doesn't have to. I am grateful for him for letting me grow as an individual. The women that I know who grew up in the same city are still married. I think it's all about where you grew up and how you brought up. I am and American and have been married to my filipina wife for 32 years. I meet her while being station in Philippines. 1990 I brought her to the USA. we lived there for 26 years. In 2015 we move back to retire in the Philippines. I never had major issues out of my wife. She was raised in Province by a great mother and father. I could not ask for a better woman. there are good and bad every kind of person. U got to take the time to find out what type person you are getting before you marry them.

I once heard someone say never take your filipina back to the West. Most men came to the philippines to escape western women they came there looking for something they couldnt find from women in the West . As soon as you bring your filipina to the west you introduce her to western society , western cultural norms and the western way of life, with other Words you transform her into a Western woman with western woman values .

I have never sent money to any of her family in 12 years never will, I am not here for taking care of her family

10 years is the magic number for any wife much less a filipina wife that can get anything like Social Security from you. They know that.

All women are not gold diggers but you can create one. If you start a relationship anywhere with how much you can spend on a woman instead of how much you can love a person trust a person and respect a person you would turn the the most innocent person into a materialistic diva. I married an American man, I noticed living here that they are conditioned to showing love through their pockets....spending money on you. Maybe it's cultural. I had to put a stop to him just spending because I don't care for material things and prefer we saved money. We live a fairly simple life now and it's stress free.

I was lucky in that all my Filipina's family were gainfully employed and only one sister ever asked for money to handle an emergency and only that one time. We brought Mom and Dad to the US and they lived with us for 16 years until Dad passed on and we moved Mom with us back to the Philippines.

My wife totally admitted in marriage counseling she had TOTALLY changed from age 25 when we married to age of 45 at time of counseling. Her BIGGEST issue with me was I hadn't changed and still ACTED like I was 25! LOL

Mark, having lived for six years in Latin America, the thing I have against Colombia is the safety factor. In Philippines a poorer neighborhood (not saying slums, just poorer) isn’t necessarily dangerous. In Latin America, usually is unsafe in poorer areas.

Growing up in the Barrio in the Philippines my father taught me to try to understand people whether they are from Philippines were i came from or other country and also get a job and don't let the guy take all the responsibility he told me not to demand at all and be satisfied with what we can afford i did all that but I ended up on the losing end so I decided to live my life happy by myself. I grow up back there I still don't understand women from back there they all believe that a person can go outside and find money without working I try to explain to them until my face is blue they still don't believe me and I have been here since 1975

I intend to spend about 3 months a year in the Phil's when I retire and intend to only rent while I am there - the apartment, the scooter, and the woman - and leave it all behind each time I leave.

After meeting a filipina on a trip in 2004, marrying her a year later, bringing her out to Australia, having a child together...and then seeing the marriage end (ironically) 10 years later - I am convinced the biggest mistake us westerners make when hooking up with woman from a third world country is - taking them out of their environment and exposing them to our's. You touched on the many other issues that negatively effect such a relationship. But they all boil down to one thing - don't bring her here in the first place. I tell any man who asks me for advice on bringing a filipina out here - watch the movie "King Kong". Why they ask? Look at what happened to that magnificent creature when the poachers dragged him out of the jungle and into our society. He ran amok...and he was ruined. If you love filipina woman...plan to go live with her one day..as Mark does. I'll NEVER bring one here again.

Keep on swinging that " life" bat! I had 3 strokes and 5 heart attacks in South Florida-2017-2018 had alot of trama, but did not give up! I even wrote a book about my ordeal "A Call For Greatness" I even found my fiancee2wife Charlie in the Philippines as well! She is my queen and co- author on our new and published book! Never give up and never give in , no matter how bad it gets, you can overcome! By the way, "divorced twice in the USA", I wonder if I can make that a song! Lol! Hi I had the same thing happened to me. This girl in 2013 I met on a dating site. I chatted with her and she was in manila seeing her grandma Dina din went into the. Bedroom and took off her panty and started playing with her private part on Facebook video as you know I got hooked by watching Dina din from salhag Rosario northern semar. I sold my house in Arkansas and spend 140,000 dollars to build a Three story house on her mother land I got run off by her and her parents. I went back to Arkansas and Dina din came to Arkansas she asulted me put in jail for a couple of day she has an aunt in Indiana so I got a divorce in Arkansas but only married in the Philippines. The judge order her and me to sell the house in salhag Rosario northern semar. But it been a long time. It is the year 2022. So Dina mother is living in my house in salhag Rosario northern semar. I still love the Philippines. But you got to be aware that united States law don't apply to the Philippines. American men beware of beautiful lady can get your money

I married a Thai but the only payments I made, because she was from a prosperous family, was a BIG dowry. Yes I could have purchased a car for the price of the dowry so maybe I did buy a car. LOL I was however required to bring token gifts like planted flowers or cash in envelopes to pay respect for her parents during family visits. I will respond more as the video continues. :)

A suggestion for some of the gentleman here, she will want to send money home - you suggest that she works, and pays HER PORTION of your bills together and then from what is left she can send cash home. She will, but of course she will complain "but that is my money!". If it was truly an important thing she will send the extra money left over from her earnings and she will be the one to tell her family how much she can send. You don't have to be the bad guy, when she realizes that it takes away from her personal money she will have no problem cutting down that money being sent back. When it's her money and it affects her personally she will understand and you will see how fast they will cut the amount down.

I know you probably won't read this but just my chance. People always talk about divorce rate in the United States is high what would the divorce rate be in the Philippines if the divorce was allowed. In the Philippines once a woman get married she is stuck because she cannot divorce but she cannot date again either because it's illegal. We hear horror stories of what happens to the woman who's married but tries start a new life with someone but never about the man who leaves his family and starts a new family with some other woman is that fair.

Yes 👍 You are 💯 correct. I'm a 60 year old male, and it impossible to meet a younger or even same age woman here in the United States. Even the younger men have a difficult time finding a younger woman here in the USA. Unfortunately our culture here in the United States as put women on pedestal (and they know it). When I was much younger in the 70's and early 80's, it seemed much easier to meet someone. But something happened, it got very difficult to meet or even date a woman here in America. So, yeah I get it!! What I have found here in the States is: don't tell your daughter your or other woman you are looking to go over seas for girlfriend or a wife 🫣😡 because then you're a pervert!!! So, let me see? You American women don't want to date us older men (if we are not a millionaire or very famous), but you don't want us to go over seas and bring back a young beautiful wife? You hit it right to the point on a lot of the issues. This is my second marriage. First one came from a family with ministers….all Christian’s…turns out in a divorce after 19 yrs. Treated her like a queen and one day when she realized that she reached her status on her job, she then realized that she was too good for me so she said she was leaving… second one from the Philippines…8 yrs now into the marriage…brought her here to the USA…almost walked out 3 times because of a guy across the street who was also jealous of me and tried to break up my marriage….in choosing a mate, there are so many factors involved….but a few things I observed in both marriages is very common. 1. Culture…2. Mothers influence 3. Bringing that person out from their culture. 3. The person’s integrity and values they hold dear to their hear. I can mention more but these are three important ones. Bringing a girl to America can really put a dent to your marriage but again it it depends on the values the girl hold on to. Anyways, mine is working out pretty good and I thank God for that….there are some myths in the Filipino culture and one main one is that there is no divorce or they don’t believe in divorce. That is embedded in their religious culture and not in there personal family culture so take it with a grain of salt….blessings

I just turned 52, I got divorced 2 years ago and no woman in my life since then. I am not wanting another western woman. I have a good job, nice house, good health and I am happy with my life, but I am missing companionship and a good female to spend my life with. I think living overseas would be better than living in the states. I retired from the Army 10 years ago and I have enough money to live for the rest of my life especially in the Philippines!!! Michael here, from Medellin Cebu Philippines. I believe I have the ideal Filipina Wife, a very special intelligent person. We have been married 18 years, 8 of those years were in spent Reno Nevada. She loved being able to work for the big bucks. Things started getting craze so we came back to the Philippines !/!/2021 and are here in Cebu now. I always said she is the perfect girl gentle not argumentative and really loves this old guy that's the amazing part. We do have an occasional disagreements but those are cleared up quickly and usually my fault. We have 3 children and they are almost grown now, 17,14,and 11. I can truly say the relationship has ben heavenly. She is now 38 and I am 76 however I don't look that old Back in 2013 I put her through college she graduated top of her class as a Pharmacist but still has not completed the exam to get certified.

Women don't love men they love resources. This guy says his wife became a "Money Monster". Guess what she was a money monster when you met her in the Philippines. He was just playing in a smaller league. He took his weak team down to minors and she saw him as big league. Then he actually took her back to the big league. Then his Filipina is probably attractive compared to the typical 200 pound American woman. So what do you think is going to happen. What happens when you swap leagues? In the Phillipines a low income American looks attractive compared to the average Filipino. In America, just being fit(not 100 pounds plus overweight) makes women attractive. So should this minor league player go back and recruit another Filipina. Sure, but stay in the minors if you're a minor league player.
