Had a ton of fun running 100 balls in Straight Pool while wearing the GoPro camera on my head. What do you think of the perspective?

The greatest benefit I got from this was just how little English you use to throw balls...it's very helpful to see just how full you hit rail shots with maybe a half tip of English. Had a conversation with Steve Mizerak years ago and he told me the best way to play 14.1 is to stay as close to center ball as possible...no more than a half tip if you need it, he said my patterns would improve and you keep the white under better control. This was of enormous help...I've watched it now many times.

What a stroke...straight as an arrow. You are so bold on your break shots. Impressive confidence. I was VERY impressed also with your 100 run using side pockets only for break shots!

This startled me by how much and how often side is used (notwithstanding acedrumminman’s comment to the exact contrary). I’ve enjoyed revisiting Thorsten’s “Covid era” tapes for their variety, inventiveness and exemplary level of skill -but this perspective “got me into his head” more than the others... his pace, rhythm and stroke delivery; his complete conviction and composure over each shot.

This POV is REALLY helpful for seeing English and much more. For me it tipped me off to the fact that your cue is staying down and through the shots in a way that I was not. It was subtle but significant. I hit some balls today with that focus and it made a VERY big difference. Had several 20+ ball 14.1 runs when usually I’m only in the teens. Baby steps.

this is terrific! from this perspective i can see that you get through the ball farther than i thought. and of course consistently. inspiring as always to watch you play, Thorsten.

Thorsten, do you normally play that fast when you're by yourself. I've watched a lot of your tournament straight pool matches and it looked like you were really playing quickly. I don't think I saw you really take any extended time deciding on what you were doing until the middle of the 6th rack! Great video to watch. If you do another one it would be cool to hear your thoughts about what you're doing and why you're choosing the sequence you're following. Also, the GoPro gives a much better idea of how HARD you really hit your break shots..lol

Super schöne neue Idee, ist sehr ungewöhnlich aber auch interessant. Eben mal was neues, und es sieht bei Dir alles so unverschämt einfach aus. Super nice new idea, very unusual but also interesting. Something new, and everything looks so outrageously simple with you.

Where do these pool halls exist? Where there isn't a stupid APA league or a bunch of gambling degenerates?
