Genshin lore is deceptively extensive. Even the most random items or world quests can have lore bombs. Its a shame that the more toxic side of the fanbase destroyed its reputation so much. Its a genuinely decent game.
the only think i didn't like about fountain story is archon quest started in act 5 and it was pretty small . sumeru was peak the story was great and better villains.
In terms of the Traveler’s necessity to be there, I’d agree. But it wasn’t too bad, it provided things like the disparity of the penal system vs the economics, and that people will want to stay even after their time is done. Also the Caterpillar quest is there.
@@Destiny87 I think it's debatable. Imo, Fontaine has better early acts to hook with murder case investigation, but weak in the middle with the life in prison. Each of Sumeru acts is more like a slow build up with act 2 being somewhat polarizing bc some player like it, some don't.(I like it tho.). The final acts are pretty good for both of them. For me, I give a point to Fontaine bc they didn't hold back killing NPCs, some of them leave quite an impact to many players(RIP Melus and Silver) and I think it might do the same if Dunyazard actually died in Sumeru AQ.
One detail that got left out from this summary is the fact that Tsaritsa, the one behind the Fatui, used to be friends with both the Anemo Archon and the Geo Archon, and all three had a problem with Celestia, so it actually makes sense why Rex Lapis would give his Gnosis away so easily. While Tsaritsa is changed, she still has their trust
@@JonaD757 Either Venti is in on it, or perhaps it is becayse Tsaritsa knows Venti's will for freedom is too great, she knows that taking it by force is the only way to get him to participate
And there are so many random stories in the world. Some suicide notes, some last notes before a disaster, some missing people, some love stories. Crazy.
I think that video was not for deep lore just quests and stories that players encounter without looking for it. Of course this is maybe not even 5% of the story but it is what a casual player would see.
@@kazukiph.6976 Yeah I am not at all against hom going more in depth, I was simply making sure people remember that was not the point of this particular video he reacted too. The all caps saying the lore is more deep just made me think you meant this video wasnt good enough or something.
@@Gytis_Of_KFP_The_4th_PenKing except for plot points he directly talked and repeated paused over. Like how gnosis contain the gods powers, parts of the sumeru story, etc.
@@V.F.D.DaleSalvador will you stop complaining, he got majority of it right. Besides parts of sumeru and I don't think he knows Zhongli is the geo Archon. He got most of ir right regardless. He doesn't need a one-to-one understanding when he most likely will not play the game.
A fallen angel who is referred to as a star. As in the morning and evening stars being the siblings. As in y'know, the two parts of Lucifer, the light bringer. And we travel with Paimon, the demon most loyal to Lucifer...
@@tobyharris4777 Also Paimon is known for being able to 'summon people and equipment at the wish of the magician who commands them' so it fits the whole gacha/wishes thing.
Ah yes the nux community or newer genshin community discovering about the fallen angel and demon paimon theory 😂 Meanwhile I'm over here thinking about this theory back in like 2021
or the wildest one i saw recently that the traveler could be a Nameless ... connecting GI with HSR ... the lore is lore-ing and the theory is theorizing
Genshin lore is an iceberg, this is what you see above the water theres so many sidequest with lore and Books and most weapons and items have a description which contains lore. for theorist everytime a new weapon comes out or artifact set it can completely change what they thought was going on in the world of teyvat there is a reason genshin has stayed suscessful other than the gacha and combat.
Its crazy that Nux never wondered that if all those Archons are so willing to give the Gnosis for free then maybe it's because the fatuis might be good guys and what they want to do with them is actually the best option. It is not a for sure thing, but a very possible thing.
Or as we found out later in the final Fontaine archon quest, they don't want cursed objects coming with cursed connections to stay with them any longer.
to be fair the fatui do horrible things in each country so it makes sense. We speculate that the tsaritsa is trying to overthrow celestia but meinsleif in this video didn't go over the fact that celestia stole the power from the primordial dragon and the dragon sovereigns as well as wipe out kaenriah. she mentioned kaenriahs fall but it wasn't addressed as very impactful sadly. basically the video painted celestia in a good light and only showed the fatui at face level joining in and causing chaos in each country by stealing venti's gnosis, aiding zhongli in a trial by fire for his country, supplying weapons to the government and resistance in inazuma, and created a false god and siding with a government who imprisoned their god.
I do agree the Fatui may have good intention but I still hate them solely because most of their actions are aggressive & causing unnecessary suffering to people.
Can’t wait for him to find out there is literally 5000 years of history for the Genshin world. And when the Genshin anime comes out it will take place around 3000years ago during the archon war.
The character development we need, now Hoyo can sponsor Nux more in the future. Btw, the video only focused on the Main Story. In fact, she not even mentioned Archon War, Celestia and more. Fun fact: in 3rd Anniversary this year, the CEO revealed that Genshin had 10.878 million words around 4.0. So to put in perspective how much lore you you can find in the game as there's bunch of theories for different things .ie about the unluckiest dude in Mondstadt is actually related to the Fire God(6th Region which coming in 2024)
6:23 they worship the GOD OF FREEDOM. And don't really have any RULES that restrict people much(other than basic country laws, like, don't get naked in the street, don't steal, don't kill, ect..).
So here's a fun theory some members of the fan base came up with regarding the loss of each Gnosis. Each Gnosis was taken thus far by using the Heavenly Principle governing each nation against each ruling god. Venti, being the God of Freedom, had his taken freely. Zhongli surrendered his via a contract. Ei lost hers via Scaramouche, whom she created in pursuit of Eternity. Nahida lost hers because as a God of Knowledge, she can't resist the acquisition of new information. And more recently, Furina lost hers through her own justice system, being the God presiding over justice. With six now in the Fatui's possession, all that's left is the Pyro Gnosis, and the ruling Archon presides over war. And since each Archon has lost each Gnosis via their Heavenly Principle, it seems safe to say, that the Pyro Archon will lose theirs as a result of the war they are currently waging. There is at least some sort of thought put into how these Gnoses are being taken.
Myittle theory is that maybe smth haopens in the pyro region and the archon wages war against sneznaya as to loosing their gnosis maybe? And we just get into sneznaya as some spies or whatever hahahaha
DUDE litereally like every item in this game has like descriptions of lore, theres lore scattered across items and notes and its just a lot, i love genshin uwu
It's hilarious. When new weapons or artifacts are leaked, people scour the descriptions _of stat gear_ in order to find clues hidden in metaphor, and it's actually hidden in there because lore hints are hidden in everyfuckingthing XD
Finally he understands Genshin Impact is not a bad game its only the Fandom that is weird The fact that Nux isn't understanding how dark the entire plot of Genshin is in reality make me feel like he will definitely make a future video regarding so analysis or something Something for Nux to know every side quest is important and I am not kidding Also Nux Gacha doesn't matter in Genshin I am not kidding you play the entire game without pulling even once it's literally not a necessity infact if you forget the wishing system exists it doesn't even feel like a Gacha game all you have to do is be a monk and not spend money
The gacha sistem and weapon really is bad, they inventing the 50/50 rate banner should be considered a crime of humanity for all eternity... Genshin lore is kinda good, but the mojority of the time, they don't take themselves seriously... like, child almost exterminated liyue, but not let him be free and play as him...
@@Y4ngCP See that's the thing it's dumb to question Gacha system when other game companies are charging $60 for a broken bugged game like Starfield and Genshin is fucking Free is takes money and commitment to make a game this great and then make it free also they don't encourage spending of money infact you don't even have to pull in order to continue playing this game also what do you mean by making Childe Free bruh there are modelers, character design artist, 3d rigging artists, Special Effects Team, Voice Actors and also Script Writers what do you mean by making him free how will they pay them do think art is just generated automatically or something these various artists had to work their asses off to create a character why should they give him for free also weapon banner is completely unnecessary cuz you can craft weapons which are more than good also all banners have 4 star and 5 star weapons available in the standard banner, Genshin Impact has one of the most tolerable Gacha system FGO has a far worse one which makes no sense cuz the whole game is 2d and the pity in FGO is on the 330th pull meaning Genshin has it on 77th pull also the other Gacha games before Genshin were far worse and nobody complained cuz Asians are used to Gacha mechanics when Western Audience flooded into the Gacha side of things because of Genshin People thought that the Gacha mechanism is very bad but that is totally not the case you guys think of it like that cuz you guys haven't experienced the other things also Genshin's lore can't be summarised using only the Archon Quests that Minslief did in this video cuz the majority of the lore is behind hidden world quests that unlock once you complete requirements and also behind limited time events which can effect the main story in reality the overall Lore of Genshin Impact is equal to those Souls games or Elden Ring in reality it's just that the common player base don't play this game's storyline much they only play archon quests and leave or spend a lot of fucking money for no reason
@@Y4ngCPGenshin's gacha system is quite literally more forgiving that alof of others lol. Though there's still others better than it. If you want to know a much more horrid one just look at FGO which for a long time didn't even have a pity system and the current one implemented requires hundreds of pulls
Fontaine is one of the most technologically advanced out of all the nations, yes. The archon quest itself is over and, by the way, the Kyogre reference you keep making isn't actually too far from the truth. I love that you chose a Minsleif video! She, Ashikai and Chill With Aster are some of my favorite Genshin content channels!
I would LOOOVEE to see character deep dives because personally I love the story but some of my favourite parts and moments are to do with the characters, I would love to see nux loose his mind over Scaramouche’s story line backstory and “redemption” as well as some of the more side story’s, I believe it’s tighnaris character quest that makes me tear up every time I see that robot. And don’t even get me started on having to see that cut scene with nahida again literally sobbing
fun fact: "Waifu" is a derogatory term in asian culture as for them it mean "F@p material", in contrast to ours were we see it as more of a "character/personality desirable in a wife". In a similar way as how "Otaku" is semi-derogatory as "fanatic with poor social skills" over there, but to us its just "someone who likes japanese themed animation"
i would be honored if someone called me "fap material" that sounds like i'm sexy and you know it. now if you were called an ona-hole (or cum dumpster) that is getting a bit mean.
This video was really good, buuut I also feel like a lot was missed out on in this recap. It skips over details that I feel would be important and give you a bigger picture of certain regions or even the bad organizations of Teyvat, though I get that this is just a recap.. You should definitely learn about some of the characters in the world as well, maybe also get a more detailed organization of the story in Teyvat. This game has really good main story, and even sidequest stories, and if you're down to learn more about the world then I'd highly recommend you do another dive. The Sorush sidequest is not the most interesting in Sumeru and it's a shame it's the only one mentioned. 😔
Yeah, when Mainsleif went almost immediately from "We break the Samsara cycle" to "With help of Nahida you defeat Scaramouch" I was kind of dissapointed
Bro I’m a grown ass man and I can say I’ve teared up quite a few times from this story. The game is a banger, and I recommend it to a lot of my friends even if it does make me look like a weeb😂🤷♀️ also I hate the way she pronounces so many words, but the video was soooo well made. Huge props to her and her hard work
Dude, I know this might be too much to ask, but I'm begging you here: please react to the character teasers and demos. It would be one of the best things to see you react to and it kind of gives you an idea of who the characters are. Plus, you get to listen to good music while you are at it.
Despite not playing the game, Nux managed to get the major shift in the main story at 34:22. After this quest, the traveler stopped looking for the sister, and more about traveling and understanding the world. Which is why the game makes a prolonged stop in every nation. A point that a lot of players somehow missed, and keep harping about how Traveler forgot about the sibling.
Funny to see you commenting on Genshin introducing characters boobs first in case of Kokomi who has essentially just a big bow on her chest to cover up what's missing under it. But true it's not clear at first sight. The wild thing is that they can make such characters and have success with them because they sell way more than just sex appeal. No matter who you are, you can likely find a lot of what you like in this game as long as you drop the prejudice.
Cant believe nux understood that the goal changed from "where is my sister" to "what is she doing". Meanwhile hoyotards are mad because traveler doesn't ask about her in fontaine. Everyone assumed traveler forgot about them
there's a lot of evidence that The Seven Archons are giving out the Gnosis on purpose to fulfill the Cryo Archon(the Archon that the Fatui work for)'s plan against Celestia
You can make an argument that Morax might have done so. (As we still do not know what her got out of the trade. Yes, he got retirement, but that, according to him, wasn't the main thing he traded the gnosis for.) Maybe Barbados and Buer could have but there is very, very little evidence to support this. Baal/Beelezabul, definitely not. Especially as Yae Miko was the one with the gnosis. Could Yae have? Possibly, but she'll never tell.
Yeah, you REALLY should react to Fontaine's story. Do not watch a summary, because that doesn't do it "justice"(get it?). Watch a playthrough or something, so you REALLY know how shit goes DOWN.
28:14 fun fact about the japanese VA of Dainslaif. He had some... minor roles in voice acting such as, I dunno, Seto Kaiba from Yugioh, Nanami Kento from Jujutsu Kaisen, Joker from Fire Force or Overhaul from MHA. Believe me when I tell you the voice acting of almost every character is just on fucking point :D
@@JinteiModding As Max0r said. That rap wasn't released, it fucking escaped. But I'm mainly talking about the japanese voice acting tbh I immediately swapped languages when I heard Paimon talk for the first time lmao
One pretty important history subplot this summary didn't explain: Celestia was not always a thing. "God" used to be a meaningless term for any vaguely strong being, then Celestia came in, took power, said "there's now only 7 gods allowed", and all hell broke loose in the battle royale for those 7 slots. All of this is before the "500 years ago" incident, in which Celestia mobilized some of the Archons to punish the region for defying the heavenly order (basically Tower of Babel). So all of the surviving major gods or their successors, especially the ones forced to take part 500 years ago, have major issues with their new boss. This makes them eager to get mugged or conned into giving their Celestia ID cards to the Fatui, since the Fatui's reasoning for gathering the Gnoses is to attack and dethrone Celestia. tldr: Fatui warmongering is only so successful at getting Gnoses because the Archons want to rebel, but can't directly because Celestia is always watching.
34:50 is another very interesting part of the story, what you explained is exactly how players shifted their views, but the Traveler stops being self-insert and goes a bit crazy from this reveal. They live in complete denial of everything their sibling said and blame it on brainwashing, continuing to look for where their sibling is "being held captive". Many of Traveler's heroics are left unclear in motivation, how much they actually care vs how much is selfishly doing good in order to get information so they can leave Teyvat with their sibling, regardless of consequences for this one world. The game usually doesn't draw attention to this greyness, letting the audience be tricked just like the rest of Teyvat into thinking Traveler is a pure hero, but a couple moments such as this denial make it very apparent.
Bro you should stream or record genshin they just recently added Fontain the region or Hyrdo to genshin and the new Archon quest is immaculate. Brought a tear to my eyes.
Honestly this impressing you says a lot about the plot because this is HEAVILY condensed. Not only that it straight up ignores stuff that fleshes out the history of the world and the characters in general. While 500 years ago is important narratively, the actual history of the world goes so much further back. Actually, given the direction of the plot is going, stuff regarding the now forgotten Genesis of Teyvat is very much relevant and that's _well over 6000 years ago._ Most lore for that comes from a region that's completely optional btw.
And she didn't even get into details about sidequest stuff The remains of Durin in Dragonspine, The Divine Nails that Celestia used to contain Forbidden Knowledge and ended up devastating the enviroment, Enkanomiya, which is the Genshin version of Atlantis and also contains some information about the world structure, or the ancient history of Sumeru's Desert which you uncover by exploring ancient temples. Genshin Impact is a really deep game as far as lore goes, and unironically worth a play. You are going to love it.
Aside from the fact that this is a bare bones summary (seriously. This is just the basics when it comes to genshin lore), MatPat did a video on Genshin about how Zhongli ruined the world when he gave up the Gnosis.
that video matpat did was honestly kind of awful, bro made so many logical jumps and pointed out things that are basically common knowledge for average genshin players as if theyre some kind of phenomenal news lol. Dont get me wrong, I love matpat, but bro barely did ANY research for that video lmao. It honestly just kind of felt forced, like he did it purely for the sake of sponsorship and nothing else. Which is fair tbh, i just dont think that video is particularly good.
😂 If this is how he reacts to Mondstadt and Liyue’s aftermath, I can’t wait to see what he thinks when at the end of Sumeru, a child god trades the equivalent of 2 nuclear reactors for a conspiracy theory
The main archon story is only like a quarter of the total lore you can experience in the give. There’s character stories where you experience a story mainly tied to a single character and there’s bunch of them, some characters get more then 1. There’s world quest where you get to learn about lore in the world you don’t get to hear in the archon quest, this is also how you unlock certain areas of the map. There’s also hangout quest where you just simply hangout with a character I think (I haven’t actually done one yet, I’m still playing catch up with all the other story stuff lol) And lastly there’s limited time event story quest where they add some fun mini games you can do along side experience the story
Since the Fatui work for the Cryo Archon, who likely has the cryo gnosis, its actually more accurate to say they have 5/7 gnosis(or 6/7 once you complete hydro story) So they just need to get pyro next year for whatever plan they have cooking. Then a year later we go to cryo nation to either see what happens or stop it, or heck maybe even join in idk.
Most lore relevant to the main story quest takes place within 500 years but we know several lore that date back 2000+ years ago to the archon war. Most of this older lore is centered around the archons or other immortal beings close to the archon but it can be really interesting learning about the different gods and how their involvement shaped teyvat today. Whats also interesting is lore surrounding celestia such as the nail at the top of dragon spine or how the chasm was created.
34:55 Bro understood this point better than a decent chunk of players who keep that thinking we're looking for our sibling, while in reality our sibling told us to fk off until we're done learning about how fked up the world is
Fontaine's story is so good, It got me crying multiple different times as I watched other people's reactions to the quest It's got me my 2nd Favorite Genshin character as well
The Gnosis are the remains of the third descender the descender who entered Teyvat before your chosen twin did. Though I wonder how devastating the truth is about the fate of the twin you didn't choose to play as
The lore goes so hard! I have played Genshin on and off over the years but I always came back for the lore drops and the surprising existential horror subtly woven into the story.
Couple things missed in the video is that you learn about the war of the gods during Zhongli's personal quest line, and it didn't touch on Enkonomiya that lies under watatsumi Island
So she skipped the part about why Wanderer decided to attempt to erase himself from history. Even though the people he tried to stop from dying died of different reasons.
I've been on the quest for infinite internet knowledge since I started being on the internet so Its Awesome seeing Nix take the same trip down lore and fun facts lane
I'm usually not a fan of vtubers, but you're so charismatic I'm forced to subscribe And I find it hilarious how she skipped two interlude archon quests but decided to include a world quest lmao
Nuxtaku in the past: "Little cool, mostly annoying like NicoB." Nuxtaku in the present: "Dude, VERY Cool." Character development. *claps* Ya love to see it!
The cool part is minsleif only tackle the main plot of the story(archon quest) and didnt mention how deep lore is and how great genshin world building that you only experience if you do some world quest and read some books and item descriptions.. not to mention the great event story aswell.
Also something that was wrong in the video, it keeps listing how many gnoses that they've gotten. 1 when then steal venti's, 2 when zhongli gives his and so on and so forth. but it's missing a number. it should have started at 2 when they stole Venti's. The Tsaritsa is an archon, meaning she has her own gnoses. so really there's only one gnoses left at the end of the Fontaine Archon Quest. so they have 6/7. or am i wrong and she doesn't have a gnoses?
bro I swear the characters be giving the gnosis for free to the Fatui like damn.......at least Venti didn't just hand over his gnosis, bro got jumped by Signora 😭
This video actually makes me want to introduce Nux to lore of other games tbh. Especially since like he said, there's aleady gacha games like Genshin that have deep stories and all(I heard apparently Nikke: Goddess of Victory is one of them, I do know Honkai Impact 3rd is pretty good overall tho). Like, I really think he would enjoy looking at the Project Moon games' universe(Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina and the latest and the most famous of the 3 Limbus Company). It's a video I would certainly watch just like with this Genshin lore video.
I swear to god nux she still just barely widen the lore hole on this video...😂 she haven't fully explain A LOT of things that you missed... such as the Fatui, Samsara, The Archon War, Vissions, Other gods aside from the archon, Gnosis, why Nahida give her Gnosis to Dotore, Ancient Sovereign Dragon ( Divalin isn't one of them), Khanrea, Irminsul, The Nails, etc ... theres a lot...😂 you should go to Akashic... for even more clarification on this things🤣 I also don't play ge shin but Im heavily keepign up because the lore is just that good along with their music!❤
1:06:35 I was thinking Queen Bohemian Rhapsody... Scaramouche, Scaramouche will you do the Fandango? thunderbolt and LIGHTNING *VERY VERY FRIGHTENING ME!* GALILEO, galileo, GALILEO, galileo GALILEO FIGARO, MAGNIFICOOoooooOOOOOOO... da da da da da da da... The Traveler (aka, the player) and their sibling are the aliens lol. They are basically Planeswalkers from MTG, but after their encounter with Sustainer they seem to have lost the power to leave Teyvat.
To answer the gods question: There is Phanes and their 4 shades, one of whom is "the unknown god", and there is the great Dragon King Nibulung. These are the only characters specifically called gods in the original chinese, all other "gods" and archons are called Dragon Lords, Demon gods, or Demon Lords. Also the Fatui are "evil" diplomats from Russia. At this point in the story there isnt *really* an antagonist.
Mondstadt and Liyue are mid, but its reasonable since its been around since 1.0 and 1.1, I feel like Inazuma is the only one that got a bad resolution compared to the others, it was so rushed... we beat Ei in less than 5 minutes, and then suddenly everything is fine
All? That's very brief summary of main story which is like 10% of story in this game. Edit: Also someone tell him youtubers are part of broad term of art and entertainment.
The funny thing is that the main plot of the game is just scratching the surface of world building and lore. Every nation so far has thousands of years of history (much of it fairly hidden or only hinted at). As for the pre-planning of the main plot, it was planned out seven years in advance. One of the early promotional videos gave a small hint at each of the seven nations and what will come after visiting them all. While I'm sure that most of the details were left open to change there seems to have been a staggering amount of ground work laid for the plot before the game released. I do agree that gacha in general is a scummy business model, I don't think this game could have existed in any other format. Also if you want the 'deep lore', I'd recommend Ashikai's channel. She does insane work.
Love how they just skipped enkanomia(one of the most lore important part), the witches, the dragons, apep, the descenders, the 4 shades, the first who came, the second who came, the primordial one etc
Id recommend reacting to more of minsleifs videos, especially her fontaine ones You can also try Ashikai's videos, but those go much much deeper into lore and are frankly pretty confusing, to me at least
Fun fact since release there was 1piece set of gear that noone used and doesnt even have 5star version. After reading description of all 4of them you cant understand shit..... AFTER 3 YEARS they released a side quest that explains not only origins of crowns but also one of fundamental details about worldbuildung which are the 4 eras from rise to dedtruction
LOL, it's a darn shame this person didn't wait until AFTER Fontaine's main story was finished because it dropped more bombshells lol. It pretty much REALLY starts setting the stage for the Endgame of the Main story if you ask me. But I guess the creator of this video updates the storyline every year I guess lol. FYI, Nux, there IS a reason why the Fatui are getting the Gnosis of each region and it is for the Cryo Archon, but we don't know why she wants them yet (there are theories of course). Lol, fyi, Nahida, the Dendro archon, she's only 500 years old making her the youngest Archon, while Zhongli is 6000 years old, being the oldest archon.
29:27 - About major events coincidentally happening just as the Traveler appears in the nations: it appears that way, BUT there is a god of Time in the story, who is sometimes called the God of Critical Moments. Part of her job is arranging things so that they happen exactly when they need to. There is a theory that she is guiding the Traveler, and arranging the major events to happen in alignment with our journey. Like a temporal Rube Goldberg machine. There aren't really any coincidences in Genshin. It's very well plotted and everything mysterious has a lore reason behind it. Having the God of Time as the in-universe explanation for why the player happens to be involved in every major event is very on-brand for Genshin's lore.
@Nux: A bunch of precision on thing you were asking about First, yes there is a bunch of gods but only 7 nation ruling gods (archons) that were basically determinded by Celestia in a battle royal 2000 years ago. And yes they are leagues above mortal in terms of power but the siblings are not humans, they are entities that travel from worlds to worlds at the start of the game so godlike beings. About the sumeru arc, it was never a battle won by Lesser Lord Kusanali by deleting all trace of Greater god rukkhadevata from existence. Lesser Lord Kusanali was created by Greater god rukkhadevata as a "pure" clone of herself (a part of her that never learn of forbidden knowledge and thus was not corrupted) for the very purpose of removing herself from the memory of the world (the tree Irminsul) in order to avoid forbidden knowledge to propagate and damage Irminsul any more. So there is no battle here, just the sacrifice from Greater god rukkhadevata in order to save the world from corruption, sacrifice that must be made by her clone/daughter since the Dendro archon is the only god that can manipulate Irminsul. Also on another note, the Fatui which are getting all the gnosis are most likely not really "the bad guys" since their purpose in getting all the gnosis is to defy Celestia (basically the ruler of the gods) which seems to be quite tyrannical (they did destroy and curse an entire nation). Most gods who are giving up their gnosis are probably doing so because they somewhat agree with the end goal of the fatui, not because they are oblivous to the fact that "the bad guys" are collecting the gnosis to do something big. I mean they are bad, they are using terrible methods but saying they are "the bad guys" of Genshin story is oversimplifying a lore that is actually quite nuanced. Basically there is a bunch of faction with different interests and goals: Celestia, the Fatui, the Abyss/the sibling, the traveller, Dainslef, the primordials dragons, the ruling gods (archons)
@Nuxanor If you want more Genshin lore, you should react to the "The NEW Genshin Impact Timeline" It goes into the history of Teyvat. Also, love your content.
