Trying to find the words !!! Not sure I can !!! My goodness me, how good was that !!! Living the dream !!! Thanks a million, zillion Bruce, AND everyone at the Petersen for making this happen !!! So looking forward to going to a Cars & Coffee at Canepa !!!!!!! ... 😄 .. take care everyone .. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ...
One of the most knowledgeable and passionate guys in the Porsche world. I could listen and watch him all day .. living his dream everyday .. wow imagine working there every day .. heaven
This is the equivalent to walking into a hobby shop and gazing at wall of different options. Then choosing what you’d like to sink your teeth into.. just incredible. That last shot with the lifts is a dream sequence.
Bruce put together a shop and auto collection that is one of the best in the world. His restorations are immaculate.!!! I met him back in 1985 when he had a shop in Santa Cruz modifying Chevrolet Blazers with superchargers. Now he has a huge building in Scotts Valley where Seagate Technologies used to be. I worked at Seagate during the 1980s.
There are so many gems in this shop. Also probably the only place on the planet with MULTIPLE Group C and GTP cars for sale at the same time. The 962s, the NPT-90, Buick 85G, and Toyota HF-89. Not to mention all the 935s. You could literally stage a late 80s early 90s IMSA race from this garage.
This was the best Petersen installment so far, by far, and it was in large part due to Mr. Canepa and his obvious passion for these functional works of art. I could listen to this man ramble on about cars all day! And then you get to see all the legendary cars in such an impressive shop. Unreal.
I just can't say which of the cars I'd love to ride the most. All of them were my childhood dreams from magazines. They still are... :-) I'm happy they are preserved (hopefully) for the next generations... You got my utmost respect Mr. Canepa.
This was a wonderful video. It made me day dream about car wish lists for hours. My Dad worked for Bob Akin and attended quite a few of his races in the 80’s. It’s was great to see all of those 70s , 80’s era Porsche’s. Thanks so much for the time Bruce!
I remember seeing some of those cars racing in the IMSA days at Portland. The Bob Tulius group 44 Jaguar. The 83 Nissan. What a great time in motorsports. What great memories, Thank you!
I have to say, I was on the edge of my chair the whole time watching this. This is truly as passion this is not work but a dream come true. Thanks to Peterson and Canepa for sharing this and making my stay at home enjoyable and a blast.
Just found these video, Wow there aren’t enough words. Would visit this place every week if I could, just to see the the history, automotive art, design and true craftsman. Brilliant.
I love when Canepa races Historic TransAm cars. I was especially thrilled to see him race the 1970 AMC Penske Javelin for the win at Laguna Seca a few years back. I know he's a Porsche guy, but he's a Rambler guy in my book.
Mr Canepa, you're an honorable man. You have a great work ethic and take pride in the work that you do. It's a pleasure and honor to see your work and the pride you take in it. I hope to one day be able to afford a 959 from you.
Wow what a place and what talented staff you have , surely the planets most desirable showroom , shop , and for me place of worship . Thank you big time .
Thanks for the guided tour of your cars, they are beautiful examples of rolling history. Some these cars I remember seeing being driven at Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glen when they were new. Its good to know that there are people who appreciate these cars and have the resources available to keep them in pristine condition so others can enjoy seeing them.
Fantastic tour! Thanks very much for sharing, really nice to be able to visit during these hard times. Really cool to see some of these cars again or for the first time. Thanks again!
I really liked your clean shop and awesome vehicle collection... those are some of the best/nicest Porsche 959's that I have ever seen...just beautiful! Thanks for your narrative on each vehicle threw out your video.
I would buy a Canepa 959 if I could, and I don't even live in the USA. 950bhp on E85? Wow. That's a strong engine. He's right, they were 20 years ahead of their time in terms of the technology used, that we now consider standard.
+1. Our '98 Carrera S coupe is at Canepa Motorsports I proudly say. Having ordered the 993 new back in the day .... I get to experience the coupe "as new" once more! .. How cool is that . . .
Just like the Petersen, a great place to visit if you are in the area. In fact, the two places are basically joined by the PCH, so a great drive if you are heading either direction!
These videos are so great. Almost as great as the driving videos. After watching and seeing the money and time that goes into these cars I love my Honda. Like the guy with 300 cars.........has to be completely psycho.
👍Beautiful collection! Thanks for sharing!👍 ... but a few questions: *”... is everything NEW?... everything restored?... everything rebuilt to new?...NEW?... NEW?!?”* 🤣😂🤣
The CGT prototype blew my mind. You could do 30m on that car alone. On many of the cars there, actually. He's also done a Pebble-winning Dusey. Proves if the guys have the skills and the man can get the info, the shop can do anything.
I wish I had the money to own a classic Porsche. I learned how to drive a manual on a 1.6L beetle and I wish it was a 911 because I just love it. I’m a legal Brazilian immigrant sense 1987 and I love this country. I worked carrying golf bags at Summer set country club in west Saint Paul Minnesota and I would carry two bags 18 holes twice a day. There was a member that owed a 964 and I would just stare at it when I was 13 going into work at 6-7am I love the restorations of these beautiful cars. I have no clue what color I would pick for the 964 if I could own one because they are all beautiful! What amazing work you guys do. I wish I could visit your shop one day. I have lots of health issues and maybe I’ll be able to stop by
