I've seen more harassment and rage quit in the last few days than in my whole SMITE carreer

Toxicity is prevalent in every game, regardless of genre. The reason MOBA's have more of it is because in a MOBA, you're dependent on your team, rather than being capable of doing everything yourself (of course, maybe you get matched VS players who're terrible compared to you making it easy for you to sweep 'em up, but that's very rare). This is something a lot of those players who're toxic fail to comply with: they're used to being able to do good themselves and still win regardless of teammates, and they fail to understand that not all players are as good (or better) than them which leads to them getting extremely mad and toxic towards those people who just don't perform that well. There are still lots of other occasions of people just being toxic because they're douchebags by nature. For example a player who challenges the enemies 1v5, ends up dying (obviously) and gives his team the full blame of his mistakes. This is why MOBA's being team-oriented games makes toxicity more prevalent, as those people who can't take the blame for their mistakes on themselves would rather blame teammates. Many of those toxic players, unfortunately seem to forget that whoever they're calling names is still a human with feelings who's merely trying to play a videogame to enjoy it. I can understand that losing because one person just isn't up-to-par in terms of skill with the rest of the lobby isn't fun, but that doesn't justify namecalling / BM / Toxicity, yet those toxic players fail to understand this yet again; all they want is the W. They're your typical player who fuel their massive ego's with wins and a high KDA, and if they can't achieve that, why not blame teammates (whether rightfully so or not) than make themselves look like a bad player, right? So, how do you counter toxicity? Unfortunately, you can't do much about them. If toxicity is ruining your games, I advice you to: -Mute toxic players: The bad part about this is that you might miss important callouts later on (e.g. "Enemy missing".) -Report toxic players: The best thing you can do overall. Many players forget to do this (myself included), as this feature isn't as noticeable as others, but in the after-game lobby on the scoreboard, hit the *!* button next to a player's name to report them. -Gather friends: Last but not least, there's always the option of gathering up your friends and queuing up together. This makes it so less random players are partied with you, and also reduces the chance anyone on your team becomes toxic (unless your friends are toxic players themselves.) And if toxic players return because of the Odyssey, probably. It is, after all, the biggest event in SMITE every year, and all those toxic players are now playing to get those quests completed for those bonus Odyssey points. Did you get all that? That's a lot of words.
