Seeing your re-progress is absolutely insane. To imagine getting to 95% in such a short period of time and the week to week improvements had to motivation to keep pushing yourself. Awesome stuff. Keep it up brother. As always amazing edit.

Amazing Mat! A lot of very sound principle on your road to recovery. Diagnose. Protect. Work around the injury. Progressive loading. Single leg work. Innovate (ice bath, runing shoes). Patience. Thank you for sharing. Question: How did you mentally deal with the injury ,setback during rehab or recurrent pain? Did you need support?

Hi Mathias, I hope you’re getting stronger and stronger. I would like to share some of my thoughts with you about your running technique. I think that you need to work your relaxation. Sometimes you have a very nice and long stride while being relaxed, but in block starts and in the first 10-20 meters I think that you are not relaxed and your stride is quite short cause of that. You know better of course, but I would like to help you by giving some piece of advice even if it is not correct😅.

@hovejoha

Thanks! Those are ankle warmers, no extra weight. Just feel like going sock-less in spikes, but dont want to get calf cramps which I've gotten when I'm cold before.

@hmf33
@hmf33 Год назад
Hey man, would you be able to recommend any shoes for sprint training (outside of spikes). With the way a lot of running shoes are moving lately, it's a bit harder to find a good sprint trainer.

You should try to avoid use of corticosteroids if there is nonsteroidal ways (and/or other also) to reduce inflammation. Their use may cause some possible side effects in future which is unacceptable or may be too (more) harmful for an athlete. One and most harmful - is raising risks of ligament or tendon rapture in future. If there is choice between to not compete or compete with pain and inflammation but "on injections" or to reduce inflammation faster then with nonsteroid drugs...better think twice. All the best to you and new records in future.
@hovejoha
@hovejoha Год назад
Thanks! I've been lectured on the side effects, hence only doing one injection. It seemed worth it to get to the point of being able to walk, as the prognosis could be up to 6 months. I'm making sure to not get any more than absolutely necessary, after Its just been NSAIDS. Thanks 🙏

Nice point of view on obstackles. Now I am watching many weeks of your rehab journey in few minutes, seems easy now. But I have no idea how much effort you put in it. I went through smaller breaks, e.g. few days or 1 week out of training. Even though I do 3k, 5k instead of sprints you are my inspiritaion in attitude to obstackles . Thank you for this content and I wish you good luck on your journey.

Wow, that was a very strange injury. What was the root cause?
@hovejoha

Food poisoning was the root of an immune system overreaction, likely induced by the HLA-B27 gene.
