Dolmen
The Korean Peninsula is home to more than 40,000 dolmens, which is half of all dolmens found in the world.
Dating back to the Bronze Age, dolmens remain a mystery to this day. This program introduces dolmens found on the Korean Peninsula and legends associated with them. It also searches their meaning and shows that ancient people were interested in astronomy, which can be seen from the engravings of zodiac signs on dolmens.
Korean ancestors continued to engrave stars on tombs during the Stone Age, the Three Kingdoms period, the Goguryeo era and the Joseon era. This program introduces the mysterious ancient culture, which has survived to this day.
고인돌
한반도에는 약 4만 여기의 고인돌이 존재한다. 이 수는 전 세계 고인돌 수의 절반을 차지하는 것으로, 한반도가 전 세계에서 가장 많은 고인돌을 보유하고 있는 곳이라는 뜻이기도 하다.
청동기시대에 만들어진 것으로 알려진 고인돌, 하지만 그 고대인들이 이야기하고자 했던 많은 이야기들을 우리는 아직 알지 못한다. 따라서 이 프로그램에서는 한반도에 존재하는 고인돌과 고인돌에 얽힌 설화 등을 소개함으로써 그 존재의미를 부각시키고, 고인돌에 새겨진 별자리를 통해 천문에 대한 고대인들의 관심과 지식을 소개하고자 한다.
고인돌에 새겨진 별자리는 신석기 시대 그리고 삼국시대, 고려시대, 조선시대에 까지 이어지며 무덤에 해, 달과 함께 별자리를 새기는 전통으로 이어져 내려왔다. 이러한 신비한 문화를 소개함으로써 고대인들의 문화유산이 지금까지도 이어져 내려왔음을 소개한다.
