2:37 its called "the legend of zelda" because zelda is the princess of hyrule. Link was chosen to be zeldas personal guard by the goddes Hylia. Which is why we as audience play as Link to protect as save princess zelda and the entirety of hyrule from Ganon which used to be a human that ruled a clan of thieves. He has stolen the triforce of power, which corrupted him and stripped his humanity away and made him more evil than he already was. And once link saves zelda they repeat it in the next life/incarnation where links chosen by hylia and saves zelda ETC. You get the idea
