Thanks so much for these interesting book recommendations! I like Mary Stewart so I'm putting Thornyhold on my list. Based on your review, I am planning to reread Julia Child's memoir because I enjoyed it so much years ago. She led such an interesting life with her service in the OSS in WWII and then her experience at Le Cordon Bleu.
This was wonderful timing for me. I just had to put down a book that was too dark for my tastes, and then I see another video from the life-softening book series on my feed. Perfect! Now I’m going to be reading Mrs. Harris goes to Paris. Thank you for your wonderful recommendations in this series, I always enjoy them. 📚
I hope you thoroughly enjoy Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris! BTW, there is a bit of a curveball with the ending that might catch you off guard. It's a wonderful book though!
Loving this series so much, Kate! I’ve never read James Runcie before, but I just borrowed “The Great Passion” from the library-it’s a novel centred around Bach’s composition of the St. Matthew Passion!!
Oh I’ve got to put Thornyhold on my TBR. I love the descriptions of place in her books. I didn’t care for Grantchester, as his character drove me crazy! But I have the book and sounds enjoyable from your description, so I’ll read it sometime soon. Three Brides sounds like a nightmare, if I was living it😂. But I bet it’s a fun story. Gotta find Mrs. ‘arris… Thanks for great suggestions!
